Antimony Selenide Nanorods Decorated on Reduced Graphene Oxide with Excellent Electrochemical Properties for Li-Ion Batteries

        Wang, Xia,Wang, Hong,Li, Qiang,Li, Hongsen,Xu, Jie,Zhao, Guoxia,Li, Hongliang,Guo, Peizhi,Li, Shandong,Sun, Yang-kook The Electrochemical Society 2017 Journal of the Electrochemical Society Vol.164 No.13

A promising anode material for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) consisting of Sb2Se3 nanorods and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) sheets has been prepared by an effective solvothermal approach. The synergetic effect between Sb2Se3 nanorods and rGO matrix provides not only high conductivity paths and strong electron contact interface, but also alleviates the volume change of Sb2Se3 nanorods, resulting in excellent lithium-storage performance. When tested as an anode material for LIBs, a high capacity of 868.30 mAh g(-1) can be retained after 100 cycles at 200 mA g(-1). Even at 2000 mA g(-1), a satisfactory capacity of 430.40 mAh g(-1) after long 550 cycles can be delivered. Ex situ X-ray diffraction study suggests that the Sb2Se3/rGO composite follows the combined Li+ intercalation, conversion reaction and alloying reaction mechanism. These features suggest the Sb2Se3/rGO composite a viable choice for application as an anode material in high-performance LIBs. (C) 2017 The Electrochemical Society. All rights reserved.

Cyclic behavior of steel beam-concrete wall connections with embedded steel columns (I): Experimental study

        Guo-Qiang Li,Fulin Gu,Jian Jiang,Feifei Sun 국제구조공학회 2017 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.23 No.4

This paper experimentally studies the cyclic behavior of hybrid connections between steel coupling beams and concrete shear walls with embedded steel columns. Four beam-to-wall connection specimens with short and long embedded steel columns are tested under monotonic and cyclic loads, respectively. The influence of embedment length of columns on the failure mode and performance of connections is investigated. The results show that the length of embedded steel columns has significant effect on the failure mode of connections. A connection with a long embedded column has a better stiffness, loadbearing capacity and ductility than that of a short embedded column. The former fails due to the shear yielding of column web in the joint panel, while failure of the latter is initiated by the yielding of horizontal reinforcement in the wall due to the rigid rotation of the column. It is recommended that embedded steel columns should be placed along the entire height of shear walls to facilitate construction and enhance the ductility.

Post-buckling behaviours of axially restrained steel columns in fire

        Guo-Qiang Li,Peijun Wang,Hetao Hou 국제구조공학회 2009 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.9 No.2

This paper presents a simplified model to study post-buckling behaviours of the axially restrained steel column at elevated temperatures in fire. The contribution of axial deformation to the curvature of column section is included in theoretical equations. The possible unloading at the convex side of the column when buckling occurs is considered in the stress-strain relationship of steel at elevated temperatures. Parameters that affect structural behaviours of the axial restrained column in fire are studied. The axial restraint cause an increase in the axial force before the column buckles; the buckling emperature of restrained columns will be lower than non-restrained steel columns. However, the axial force of a restrained column decreases after the column buckles with the elevation of temperatures, so make use of the post-buckling behaviour can increase the critical temperature of restrained columns. Columns with temperature gradient across the section will produce lower axial force at elevated temperatures.

AN EXPLANATION ON TRANSIENT BRIGHTENING BY MAGNETIC RECONNECTION THEORY

LI BI-QIANG,LI XIAO-QING,AI GUO-XIANG The Korean Astronomical Society 1996 Journal of The Korean Astronomical Society Vol.29 No.suppl1

It. has been discovered that. active regions commonly have numerous flare-like transient. loop brightenings. We use a magnetic reconnection theory driven by a ponderamotive force on account. of the basic properties of a transient. brightening: lifetime a few mins, total energy $10^{25}\~10^{29}$ erg. The numerical results are consistent with the observations.

Effects of shear deformation on the effective length of tapered columns with I-section for steel portal frames

        Li, Guo-Qiang,Li, Jin-Jun Techno-Press 2000 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.10 No.5

Based on the stiffness equation of the tapered beam element involving the effects of axial force and shear deformation, numerical investigations are carried out on elastic instability for web-linearly tapered columns with I-section of steel portal frames. Effects of shear deformation on the effective length of the tapered columns with I-section are studied. An efficient approach for determining the effective length of the tapered portal frame columns considering effects of shear deformation is proposed.

A simplified approach for fire-resistance design of steel-concrete composite beams

        Guo-Qiang Li,Wei-Yong Wang 국제구조공학회 2013 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.14 No.3

In this paper, a simplified approach based on critical temperature for fire resistance design of steel-concrete composite beams is proposed. The method for determining the critical temperature and fire protection of the composite beams is developed on the basis of load-bearing limit state method employed in current Chinese Technical Code for Fire safety of Steel Structure in Buildings. Parameters affecting the critical temperature of the composite beams are analysed. The results show that at a definite load level, section shape of steel beams, material properties, effective width of concrete slab and concrete property model have little influence on the critical temperature of composite beams. However, the fire duration and depth of concrete slab have significant influence on the critical temperature. The critical temperatures for commonly used composite beams, at various depth of concrete and fire duration, are given to provide a reference for engineers. The validity of the practical approach for predicting the critical temperature of the composite beams is conducted by comparing the prediction of a composite beam with the results from some fire design codes and full scale fire resistance tests on the composite beam.

Analysis of restrained heated steel beams during cooling phase

        Guo-Qiang Li,Shi-Xiong Guo 국제구조공학회 2009 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.9 No.3

Observations from experiments and real fire indicate that restrained steel beams have better fireresistant capability than isolated beams. Due to the effects of restraints, a steel beam in fire condition can undergo very large deflections and the run away damage may be avoided. However disgusting damages may occur in the beam-to-column connections, which is considered to be mainly caused by the enormous axial tensile forces in steel beams resulted from temperature decreasing after fire dies out. Over the past ten years, the behaviour of restrained steel beams subjected to fire during heating has been experimentally and theoretically investigated in detail, and some simplified analytical approaches have been proposed. While the performance of restrained steel beams during cooling has not been so deeply studied. For the safety evaluation and repair of steel structures against fire, more detailed investigation on the behaviour of restrained steel beams subjected to fire during cooling is necessary. When the temperature decreases, the elastic modulus and yield strength of steel recover, and the contraction force in restrained steel beams will be produced. In this paper, an incremental method is proposed for analyzing the behaviour of restrained steel beams subjected to cooling. In each temperature decrement, the development of deformation and internal forces of a restrained beam is divided into four steps, in order to consider the effect of the recovery of the elastic modulus and strength of steel and the contraction force generated by temperature decrease in the beam respectively. At last, the proposed approach is validated by FE method.

Experimental Study on the Bend and Shear Behaviors of Steel-concrete Composite Beams with Notched Web of Inverted T-shaped Steel Section

        Guo-Qiang Li,Xianhui Li,Liang Li 한국강구조학회 2012 International Journal of Steel Structures Vol.12 No.3

A new steel-concrete composite beam with notched web of inverted T-shaped steel section is proposed in this paper. This composite beam is composed of concrete slab and inverted T-shaped steel beam. Experimental studies on the bend and shear behavior of the composite beam are conducted. Four specimens are tested to investigate the bend behavior of the novel composite beam, and the formula for predicting the bend capacity is proposed and verified by comparing the results between predicted with the formula and the measured from the tests. Six specimens are also tested to study the shear behavior and the formula for estimating the shear capacity of the novel composite beam is recommended on the base of the test results. The formulas proposed in this paper may be employed to estimate the bend and shear capacity of the composite beam with notched web of inverted T-shaped steel section for application in practice.
