The Characteristics of Temperature/Impedance Integrated Sensors

<P>Temperature/impedance integrated sensors are manufactured using a semiconductor process for the simultaneous monitoring of the temperature and impedance variations. The temperature Coefficient of Resistance (TCR) value of a temperature sensor is evaluated as 1982.91 ppm/C from 34 to 40 C and 1957.98 ppm/C from 57 to 63 C, respectively, giving the temperature inaccuracy less than +0.05 'C. Using a temperature/impedance integrated sensor, the volatilization rates of acetone, methanol and isopropyl alcohol are measured simultaneously. The temperature changed from 1 to 3 C and capacitance changed from 10% to 90% depending on the type of solvents. Moreover, the electrocatalysis phenomenon between platinum and methanol is monitored from impedance measurement.</P>

본 연구의 목적은 소규모 농산물 가공공장의 작업자들을 대상으로 하여 직무 스트레스 및 근골격계질환에 대한 평가를 하는 것이다. 연구 방법은 자료조사를 통해 국내 소규모 작업공장리스트를 확보하여 업종별로 분류하고 가장 많은 업종의 작업자를 대상으로 한국인 직무스트레스 측정도구(Korean occupational Stress Scale, Koss)와 근골격계부담작업 유해요인 조사지침 KOSHA CODE(H-30-2003)의 근골격계 증상 조사표를 이용하여 각각에 대해 조사하였다. 연구결과 직무스트레스는 전국 근로자들이 받는 것과 동일하게 나타난 "직무요구"항목을 제외하고 나머지 항목에 대해서는 낮게 나타났다. 근골격계질환에 대한 결과 업종별 근골격계질환율이 높은 순서는 즙류, 한과류, 장류였으며, 장류 종사자들은 전신에, 한과류 종사자들은 어깨, 손, 다리 부위에, 즙류 종사자들은 허리부위에 높은 유병율을 보였다.

A Robust Hidden Markov Gauss Mixture Vector Quantizer for a Noisy Source

<P>Noise is ubiquitous in real life and changes image acquisition, communication, and processing characteristics in an uncontrolled manner. Gaussian noise and Salt and Pepper noise, in particular, are prevalent in noisy communication channels, camera and scanner sensors, and medical MRI images. It is not unusual for highly sophisticated image processing algorithms developed for clean images to malfunction when used on noisy images. For example, hidden Markov Gauss mixture models (HMGMM) have been shown to perform well in image segmentation applications, but they are quite sensitive to image noise. We propose a modified HMGMM procedure specifically designed to improve performance in the presence of noise. The key feature of the proposed procedure is the adjustment of covariance matrices in Gauss mixture vector quantizer codebooks to minimize an overall minimum discrimination information distortion (MDI). In adjusting covariance matrices, we expand or shrink their elements based on the noisy image. While most results reported in the literature assume a particular noise type, we propose a framework without assuming particular noise characteristics. Without denoising the corrupted source, we apply our method directly to the segmentation of noisy sources. We apply the proposed procedure to the segmentation of aerial images with Salt and Pepper noise and with independent Gaussian noise, and we compare our results with those of the median filter restoration method and the blind deconvolution-based method, respectively. We show that our procedure has better performance than image restoration-based techniques and closely matches to the performance of HMGMM for clean images in terms of both visual segmentation results and error rate.</P>
Development of Fruit Harvest Basket and Assessment of its Effectiveness

The purpose of this study is to develop products that prevent muscular skeletal disease of farm workers, which would bring improvement for an efficient harvesting work. A pretest for product development and a survey research was carried out to inspect the problems of current harvesting work procedure. The product was developed and assessed based on ideas to supplement and improve these weak points. A total of twenty men were recruited to evaluate the effects of harvest baskets on the upper-limb muscle activities. For the usability evaluation, electromyogram of previous working method(disuse of harvest basket, one-hand carriage of the basket) and new working method with the usage of newly-developed harvest basket was examined. The whole anterior deltoid, biceps brachii and erector spinae on both sides, which makes a total of six muscle parts, were used for this experiment. The results were analyzed using ANOVA with muscle activity(%MVC) of each three forms of work and required work time from SPSS 18.0. According to the test result, all muscles did not demonstrate any statistically significant difference, with an exception of the backbone erector(right). The muscle activity of backbone erector(right) in the work method that uses harvest basket was detected to be approximately 23% less than that of the previous working method. As such, the decrease in the amount of waist muscle usage at harvesting work would enable the prevention of muscular skeletal disease and stabilization of lumbar spine.
