For years industrial engineers have been concerned with the design and operation of production system. As the time to repair plant facility is greater than that of the expected and the malfunction of the system is usually resulting in the failure to meet some delivery date, the importance of the efficient maintenance policy in a process plant cannot be underestimated. We develop a preventive maintenance model for the situation, where there are not enough data for regular models previously developed for preventive maintenance, and the effectiveness of the preventive maintenance model proposed in this study is presented with the aid of case problem.
한국인 Fragile-X 증후군 환자의 분자 유전학적 진단

Fragile-X syndrome (FXS) is the most common cause of inherited mental retardation. Until recently, the diagnosis of FXS has been made based on the cytogenetic expression of the fragile site at Xq27.3 (FRAXA) in the patients' cultured cells and on the results of linkage analysis with DNA markers surrounding the fragile X locus. The recent cloning of fragile-X gene(FMR-1) made it possible investigate the molecular defects in FMR-1 gene of individuals at risk. Vast majority of molecular defects of FXS has been known to be an abnormally amplified trinucleotide(cytosine guanine guanine) repeat. This study aims at establishing the molecular genetic diagnosis of FXS as well as correlating genotype-phenotype analyzing the increment of amplified CGG repeat number, clinical findings, and cytogenetic expression rate in two Korean families with FXS patients. The FXS patients are tested cytogenetically & molecular genetically. The fragile site at Xq27.3 was cytogenetically expressed in folate deficient medium by culturing lymphocytes for 4 days. Molecular diagnostic approaches utilize the genomic DNA Southern blot analysis using genomic probe FXA 241 (ONCOR) and radiolabelled PCR-denaturing polyacrylamide gelelcetrophoresis. Each patient expressed a FRAXA site in folate deficient medium with the expression rate of 38%, 16% respectively. The molecular genetic study showed that each patient had the CGG amplification 1.6kb, 0.7-0.8kb in the FMR-1 gene respectively. In addition, this study clarified the carrier status of each family members. In conclusion, molecular genetic studies employed in this study can be utilized for a confimatory diagnostic purpose in FXS patients.

This paper describes the present situation of the curriculum on the elective subject field practice and characteristics of the subject which deserves to be a required subject in the viewpoints of many aspects from the industrial society requirements. We discussed the necessary method and the suggestions to the school authority to revise the curriculum to be required from elective. We also showed the effective way of operating the field practice with the considerations on its important property between the industrial firms and student careers, mentioning the engineering education suitable to adapt to the technologi1 society, and comparing the field practice environments in the universities of the developed countries on the intern system, fellowship, requisition research, civilian research activity, school-industry educational cooperation, etc. The school -industry educational cooperation was fully described from the past up to the present, and the better ways for our school to take steps on the changing conditions were classified with some opinions in the both sides of industry and school, and to the last the system and step to be carried were summarized with showing the standard model of the field practice based on the questionnaire on the engineering curriculum.

The six kinds of natural factors(It refers to wind, cold, summer-heat, dampness, dryness and fire.) is constantly moving to maintain the balance of whole climate of one year. Four seasons are the largest mediation of whole climate of one year. The cold and the heat have the relationship of mutual intervention. The dampness and the dryness have it also. In this process they raise various climate appearance. And that various climate appearance influence the whole lives on the earth. This paper is concerned with the classification of them.

Disorders of the spine are costly and prevalent, and treatment can be difficult. The primary goal of therapeutic intervention for back and neck pain is to reduce pain and improve functional ability. Correcting faulty posture through exercise is one of many treatment approaches for decreasing symptoms of back pain, yet research is lacking to validate the effectiveness of such treatment. To justify the clinical use of postural correction and exercises commonly used to treat back pain, research must demonstrate a positive relationship between postural interventions and improvement of the patients’ pain and disability. The purpose of the study was to compare the effects of the Pneu-BackTM treatment protocol with therapeutic exercise to therapeutic exercise alone on back pain and disability, and posture. The independent variable is treatment (Pneu-BackTM treatment protocol with therapeutic exercise verses therapeutic exercise verses no treatment) and dependent variables are pain, disability, and posture. Sixty-four people with chronic back or neck pain (more than 3 months) were randomly assigned to three groups: Group 1 received the Pneu-BackTM treatment protocol; Group 2 received instruction and supervision in back and neck exercises and posture modification; and Group 3 received no intervention of any kind. Pain, disability and posture were measured pre, mid, and post intervention. Random coefficient growth curves were used to determine differences between groups. Subjects in the treatment groups significantly improved in pain and disability scores compared to the control group (p<.0001), but there was no difference in improvement between the treatment groups. The addition on the Pneu-BackTM chair exercise had no additional effect on treatment outcomes. There were no consistent trends in posture changes among the groups.
INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION FOR SILICON CARBIDE MIRROR POLISHING AND DEVELOPMENT

For research and development of Silicon Carbide (SiC) mirrors, the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) and National Optical Astronomy Observatory (NOAO) have agreed to cooperate and share on polishing and measuring facilities, experience and human resources for two years (2014-2015). The main goals of the SiC mirror polishing are to achieve optical surface figures of less than 20 nm rms and optical surface roughness of less than 2 nm rms. In addition, Green Optics Co., Ltd (GO) has been interested in the SiC polishing and joined the partnership with KASI. KASI will be involved in the development of the SiC polishing and the optical surface measurement using three different kinds of SiC materials and manufacturing processes (POCO$^{TM}$, CoorsTek$^{TM}$ and SSG$^{TM}$ corporations) provided by NOAO. GO will polish the SiC substrate within requirements. Additionally, the requirements of the optical surface imperfections are given as: less than 40 um scratch and 500 um dig. In this paper, we introduce the international collaboration and interim results for SiC mirror polishing and development.

In this study, an antibiosis of antimicrobial mortar developed to reduce biochemical corrosion of sewage facilities concrete was evaluated. First, artificial acceleration rest reflecting similarly biochemical corrosion of mortar was developed. Antimicrobial mortar specimen were experimented in this test and antibiosis of it was evaluated by SEM and EDX. As a results of the study, sulfur-oxidizing bacteria on the plain specimen were survived for 20 weeks in this test. But sulfur-oxidizing bacteria on antimicrobial specimen were survived less than the plain, and sulfur-oxidizing bacteria were externally distorted and destroyed. So the antibiosis of an antimicrobial mortar was verified by it.
