Deuteration-induced Ferromagnetic Metallic Properties in R7Rh3Dx (R = Tb, Dy)
Koji Shimomura,Takanori Tsutaoka,Stanislaw M. Filipek,Ryutaro Sato 한국물리학회 2013 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.63 No.3
The magnetic and the electrical properties of the R7Rh3 deuterides Tb7Rh3D27 and Dy7Rh3D27have been studied by measuring the magnetization, magnetic susceptibility and electrical resistivity. Tb7Rh3D27 and Dy7Rh3D27 show a ferromagnetic property below TC = 62 K and 23.5 K, respectively;a metallic state is induced by deuteration. The deuteration-induced magnetic transitionin these compounds can be realized by a competition between the inter- and intra-layer exchangeinteractions. The deuteration-induced semimetal to metal transition can be attributed to a modifi-cation of the energy band structure produced by a lattice expansion due to protons located in theinterstitial positions and/or additional electrons originating from the dissociation of deuterium.
Magnetic Properties of a Nd7Pd3 Single Crystal
Takuya Matsushita,Koji Shimomura,Takanori Tsutaoka 한국물리학회 2013 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.63 No.3
Magnetization, magnetic susceptibility and electrical resistivity measurements have been carriedout for Nd7Pd3 single crystals having the Fe7Th3-type hexagonal structure with the space groupP63mc. Nd7Pd3 possesses an antiferromagnetic (AF) state at temperatures below TN = 39 K and aferromagnetic or ferrimagnetic one at temperatures below TC = 34 K. Another magnetic transitionor a magnetic structure change was found at Tt = 15.7 K. In the ferromagnetic state, Nd7Pd3 hasa relatively large magnetic anisotropy; the easy magnetization direction is the a-axis, and hard oneis the c-axis. Metamagnetic transitions were observed in the AF state along the c-axis and in thec-plane; the critical field HC increases with increasing temperature. The magnetization curve hasan inflection point even in the paramagnetic state at 45 K in the c-plane, indicating a field-inducedtransition in the region having antiferromagnetic short-range order.

High-field magnetization and magnetoresistance measurements have been performed to investigatethe field-induced magnetic phase transitions in Tb7Rh3 single crystals. Metamagnetic transitionswere observed along the a-, b- and c-axes of the hexagonal crystal lattice in the three magneticstates at temperatures below the N´eel temperature TN = 91 K; magnetic field H - temperatureT phase diagrams were constructed for b- and c- axes. At temperatures below TN, the magneticstructure transformations under application of a magnetic field along the b-axis are observed to beaccompanied by the giant magnetoresistance effect (|Δρ/ρ| up to 65%). Magnetization curves measuredat temperatures above TN show inflection points, which may be indicative of phase transitionswithin regions with an antiferromagnetic short-range order persisting in a paramagnetic matrix.
A Method for Structuring Service Failure Factors to Realize Highly Reliable Services
Junpei Saito,Yusuke Kurita,Yoshiki Shimomura,Koji Kimita (사)한국CDE학회 2013 한국CAD/CAM학회 국제학술발표 논문집 Vol.2010 No.8
As society matures, customer requirements have become more varied. Services have been attracted increasing attention from industry and academic field as an effective mean to satisfy such varied customer requirements. In order to make a profit, it is important for companies to build and maintain long-term relationships with customers. Therefore, service providers should maintain their service quality and always satisfy their customers. To realize highly reliable product or services, in general, it is an effective approach to prevent failures from occurring in the use phase. Therefore, it is necessary that analysts identify the factors that could cause service failure and take appropriate measures against the target failure factor in advance. However, service failure factors are varied compared to physical products because service failures occur due to uncertainty elements such as human factor. In this study, we aim to enable service analysts to identify the critical failure factor from a number of failure factors. To achieve this, we identify complex failure factors and relationship among them from the viewpoint of the field where the service provided. This paper proposes a method for structuring the causal sequence between service failure factors by using a method of system modeling.
