<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Despite the importance of wearable healthcare devices, little has been known about what influences individual adoption of a wearable healthcare device. The purpose of this study was to examine factors that influence an individual's intention to adopt a wearable fitness tracker, which is a type of wearable healthcare devices. Factors examined in this study included interpersonal influence, personal innovativeness, self-efficacy, attitudes toward a wearable fitness tracker, health interests, and perceived expensiveness of the device. Adoption intentions of two groups of individuals were compared. One group included individuals who already knew about fitness trackers; the other included those who were unaware of such devices. Analyzing data collected from 616 respondents, we found that the intention to adopt was stronger among respondents who were aware of wearable fitness trackers than it was among those who were not aware. Results of ordered logistic regressions indicate that in both groups of respondents, consumer attitudes, personal innovativeness, and health interests had statistically significant and positive associations with the intention to adopt a wearable fitness tracker.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Factors influencing intention to adopt a wearable fitness tracker were examined. </LI> <LI> Attitudes, innovativeness, and health interests had significant effects. </LI> <LI> Interpersonal influence, self-efficacy, expensiveness had insignificant effects. </LI> <LI> Intention to adopt was stronger among respondents aware of the devices. </LI> </UL> </P>

Recently, biomedicine is getting more important. In this context, I conducted a study that seeks for the role of Operations Research and Management Science in biomedicine. To do so, I have made a research map in a network representation by applying named entity recognition technique based on a dictionary to the MEDLINE dataset. The dictionary is built by collecting words representing Operations Research and Management Science introduced on INFORMS web site. The research map was dissected by network analysis.
Multidisciplinary Research Space Model as A Venue for Research Dynamics Analysis

A research topic emerges like a star birth, evolves like a start growth, and perishes like a start death. Research topics sometimes are in fusion or in fission. Understanding such dynamics in the life cycle of a research topic is important. However, the current vector space model, which used in latent semantic analysis, focuses on terms and is too abstract in terms of human interpretation. The present topic modelling, which uses Bayesian analysis, concentrate on bag-of-words and is too descriptive to speculate research dynamics. In this paper, we propose a coordinate system model to illustrate the position of a research with respect to the current research topics. We applied this system model to a data on operations research and management science during the past 11 years (2001-2011). Our result not only shows a static position of a paper and an author, but also a dynamic trajectory of a journal and an author. We looked for rising stars in perspective of methodology and an emerging area in perspective of application.
Subject-method topic network analysis in communication studies

<P>Communication studies depend on information and communication technology (ICT) and the behavior of people using the technology. ICT enables individuals to transfer information quickly via various media. Social changes are occurring rapidly and their studies are growing in number. Thus, a tool to extract knowledge to comprehend the quickly changing dynamics of communication studies is required. We propose a subject-method topic network analysis method that integrates topic modeling analysis and network analysis to understand the state of communication studies. Our analysis focuses on the relationships between topics classified as subjects and methods. From the relationships, we examine the societal and perspective changes relative to emerging media technologies. We apply our method to all papers listed in the Journal Citation Reports Social Science Citation Index as communication studies between 1990 and 2014. The study results allow us to identify popular subjects, methods, and subject-method pairs in proportion and relation.</P>

본 논문은 특정 연구 분야에서 다뤄지는 연구 주제와 연구 방법으로 구성한 네트워크의 군집을 분석하여 해당 분야 연구의 현황을 이해할 수 있는 기초를 제공하고자 한다. 특별히, 데이터 저널리즘의 관점에서 이 방법을 커뮤니케이션 연구에 적용한다. 네트워크는 점들과 이들을 잇는 연결선으로 구성되며, 주제-방법 네트워크는 주제들과 방법들을 점들로 갖고 그들 간의 관계를 연결선으로 표현하여 커뮤니케이션 분야에서 다뤄지는 주제들과 방법들의 대중성뿐만 아니라 그들 간의 관계를 분석할 수 있다. 우리는 먼저 특정 분야의 연구 현황을 파악하기 위해 네트워크 분석을 활용한 연구들과 커뮤니케이션 분야에서의 연구 현황 분석 연구들을 비판적으로 살펴본다. 이 글에서 새롭게 개발한 주제-방법 네트워크 군집 분석 방법을 소개한 후, 이 방법을 JCR Social Science에서 커뮤니케이션으로 분류되는 모든 학술지들의 논문들을 대상으로 적용한 결과를 제시한다. 이를 기초로 커뮤니케이션 분야에서 연구 주제와 연구 방법의 선호를 살펴보고, 이와 같은 분석결과가 갖는 커뮤니케이션 분야에서의 함의를 도출한다.

시장에서 다양한 소비자의 니즈가 늘어나고 소비자가 구매 의사 결정 과정에서 한정된 정보나 상황에 의존하면서 제한된 합리성을 근거로 한 결정이 공급망에서 수요에 대한 불확실성을 증가시킨다. 불확실성의 증가에 따라 최적 공급 망 관련 의사 결정이 힘들어지면서 공급망 관리의 경직성을 탈피하기 위한 유연한 수요 예측이 중요하다. 이를 위해 신제품 경쟁 시장을 대상으로 주관적 효용에 따른 전망 이론 기반의 소비자 의사 결정 방법론과 유형화한 이질적 소비자의 상호작용을 구현하는 다중 행위 소비자 연결망 모의실험 모형을 제안한다.
