무수탄산칼륨 존재 하에서 2-chloro-N-(4,6-diarylpyrimidin-2-yl)acetamides 25-33를 모르포린과 축합 반응시켜서 2-morpholino-N-(4,6-diarylpyrimidin-2yl)acetamides 34-42 화합물들을 합성하였다. 합성된 화합물들의 녹는점, 원소분석, MS, FT-IR, $^1H$- & $^{13}C$-NMR로 화학적인 구조를 규명되었다. A new series of novel 2-morpholino-N-(4,6-diarylpyrimidin-2-yl)acetamides 34-42 is synthesized by the condensation of 2-chloro-N-(4,6-diarylpyrimidin-2-yl)acetamides 25-33 with morpholine in the presence of anhydrous potassium carbonate. The synthesized compounds have been characterized by melting point, elemental analysis, MS, FT-IR, one-dimensional NMR ($^1H$ & $^{13}C$) spectroscopic data.
Novel Synthesis of bis Acetylated Hybrid Pyrazoles as Potent Anticandidiasis Agents

Bis acetylated hybrid pyrazoles 을 합성하여 이들 화합물에 대해 녹는점, 원소분석, MS, FT-IR, one-dimensional $^1H,-$ 및 $^{13}C$-NMR로 분석하였다. 합성한 화합물들에 대해 in vitro 항균활성을 Candida sp. namely Candida albicans, Candida glabrata, Candida parapsilosis, Candida dubliniensis 및 Candida tropicali 균에 대해 수행하였다. Pyrazoles의 페닐고리에 작용기($-CH_3$, $-OCH_3$, -F, -Cl, 및 Br)가 있는 화합물은 Candida species에 대해서 강한 활성을 나타내었다. A new series of bis acetylated hybrid pyrazoles were synthesized and characterized by their melting point, elemental analysis, MS, FT-IR, one-dimensional $^1H$, and $^{13}C$ NMR spectroscopic data. All the synthesized compounds were tested for their in vitro antifungal activities against Candida sp. namely Candida albicans, Candida glabrata, Candida parapsilosis, Candida dubliniensis and Candida tropicalis. A close inspection of the in vitro anticandidal activity profile in differently electron donating ($CH_3$ and $OCH_3$) and electron withdrawing (-F, -Cl, and Br) functional group substituted phenyl rings of novel hybrid pyrazoles exerted strong anticandidal activity against all the tested Candida species.

$NaHSO_4.SiO_2$ 촉매를 이용한 microwave 및 무수조건하에서 새로운 morpholino pyrimidines의 One-pot합성이다. 합성된 모든 화합물을 이용하여 in vitro에서 임상학적인 단리된 박테리아 품종 즉 Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus cerues, Micrococcus luteus , Salmonella typhii에 대해 항균성을 살펴보았고, 균품종 즉 Aspergillus niger, Candida 6, Candida 51에 대해 항진균성을 살펴보았다. 미생물 결과에 대한 합성된 화합물의 구조적 활동성의 관련성에 대해 토론하였다. ‘One-pot’ reaction procedure for the synthesis of novel morpholino pyrimidines (10-18) under microwave irradiation in ‘dry media’ in the presence of heterogeneous $NaHSO_4.SiO_2$ catalyst was developed. All the synthesized compounds were screened for their in vitro antibacterial activities against clinically isolated bacterial strains namely Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus cerues, Micrococcus luteus and Salmonella typhii and antifungal activities against fungal strains namely Aspergillus niger, Candida 6 and Candida 51. Structure activity relationship of the synthesized compounds against microbiological results was discussed.
Evaluation of protective coatings for geopolymer mortar under aggressive environment

The aim of this study is to investigate the durability of fly ash based geopolymer mortar with and without protective coatings in aggressive chemical environments. The source materials for geopolymer are Fly ash and Ground Granulated Blast furnace Slag (GGBS) and they are considered in the combination of 80% & 20% respectively. Two Molarities of NaOH solution were considered such as 8M and 10M. The ratio of binder to sand and Sodium silicate to Sodium hydroxide solution (Na<sub>2</sub>SiO<sub>3</sub>/NaOH) are taken as 1:2 and 2 respectively. The alkaline liquid to binder ratio is 0.4. Compressive strength tests were conducted at various ages of the mortar specimens. In order to evaluate the performance of coatings on geopolymer mortar under aggressive chemical environment, the mortar specimens were coated with two different types of coatings such as epoxy and Acrylic. They were then subjected to different chemical environments by immersing them in 10% standard solutions of each ammonium nitrate, sodium chloride and sulphuric acid. Drop in compressive strength as a result of chemical exposure was considered as a measure of chemical attack and the drop in compressive strength was measured after 30 and 60 days of chemical exposure. The compressive strength results following chemical exposure indicated that the specimens containing the acrylic coating proved to be more resistant to chemical attacks. The control specimen without coating showed a much greater degree of deterioration. Therefore, the application of acrylic coating was invariably much more effective in improving the compressive strength as well as the resistance of mortar against chemical attacks. The results also indicated that among all the aggressive attacks, the sulphate environment has the most adverse effect in terms of lowering the strength.
Development of eco-friendly concrete produced with Rice Husk Ash (RHA) based geopolymer

This paper reports the effect of Rice Husk Ash (RHA) in geopolymer concrete on strength, durability and microstructural properties under ambient curing at a room temperature of 25℃ and 65±5% relative humidity. Rice husk was incinerated at 800℃ in a hot air oven. and ground in a ball mill to achieve the required fineness. RHA was partially added in 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 percentages to fly ash with 10% of GGBS to produce geopolymer concrete. Test results exhibit that the substitution of RHA in geopolymer concrete resulted in reduced strength properties during initial curing. In the initial stage, workability of GPC mixes was affected by RHA particles due to the presence of dormant particles in it. It is evident from the microstructural study that the presence of RHA particles densifies the matrix reducing porosity in concrete. This is due to the presence of RHA in geopolymer concrete, which affects the ratio of silica and alumina, resulting in polycondensation reactions products. This study suggests that incorporation of rice husk ash in geopolymer concrete is the solution for effective utilization of waste materials and prevention of environmental pollution due to the dumping of industrial waste and to produce eco-friendly concrete.
Easy-to-execute 'One-pot' Synthesis of 1,2,4,5-Tetrazines Catalyzed by Activated Fly Ash

Thiourea/urea, 다양한 aromatic aldehydes, ammonium acetate의 세가지 요소를 가지고 마이크로파의 조 사하에서 무수조건의 활성화된 비산화재를 촉매로 사용하여 높은 수율의 6-aryl-1,2,4,5-tetrazinan-3-thiones/ones를 얻었 다. 6-aryl-1,2,4,5-tetrazinan-3-thiones/ones의 구조는 녹는점, MS, IR, 1H NMR, D2O 교환, 13C NMR, 이차원의 NMR 스펙트럼(HOMOCOR, HSQC)을 바탕으로 증명되었다. Three-component coupling of thiourea/urea, various structurally diverse aromatic aldehydes and ammonium acetate is catalyzed by activated fly ash in dry media under microwave irradiation to give 6-aryl-1,2,4,5-tetrazinan- 3-thiones/ones in good yields. The structure of 6-aryl-1,2,4,5-tetrazinan-3-thiones/ones have been elucidated on the basis of their melting points, elemental analysis, MS, IR, 1H NMR, D2O exchange, 13C NMR and two dimensional NMR spectral studies including Homonuclear Correlation (HOMOCOR) and Heteronuclear Single Quantum Correlation (HSQC) spectra.

NaHSO4·SiO2를 사용하는 solvent-free 조건하에서 E-geometry를 가진 α,β의 불포화산, α-Cyanoacrylonitriles 와 α-Cyanoacrylates의 효율적인 입체선택적 반응을 수행하였다. Efficient stereoselective synthesis of α,β-Unsaturated acids, α-Cyanoacrylonitriles and α-Cyanoacrylates has been carried out in the presence of NaHSO4·SiO2 under solvent?free conditions with an E-geometry.
