Herein, a ternary Bi@H-TiO2/B-C3N4 type II heterostructure is successfully designed and prepared viametal Bi as cocatalyst for photocatalytic H2 generation. As expected, under k > 300 nm light, the highestphotocatalytic hydrogen production rate (HPR) of Bi@H-TiO2/B-C3N4 is up to 223.08 lmol g1 h1. Excitingly, under visible light (k > 400 nm), the highest HPR of Bi@H-TiO2/B-C3N4 is increased to18.84 lmol g1 h1, which is about 67.3 times, 37.7 times and 6.8 times as high as that of H-TiO2, BC3N4and H-TiO2/B-C3N4 under the same conditions, respectively. Moreover, the electrochemical impedancespectroscopy and transient photocurrent tests manifest that the interface resistance of Bi@HTiO2/B-C3N4 composite decreases and the photocurrent density increases after loading metal Bi. Theseresults indicate that loading metal Bi as cocatalyst (providing more electron trapping sites) is beneficialto improve photocatalytic activity in the type II heterostructure composite. And the electron transferdirections (B-C3N4 ? H-TiO2 ? Bi or B-C3N4 ? Bi) are proved by ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopytest. Therefore, the Bi@H-TiO2/B-C3N4 photocatalyst with strong visible light absorption is expected to bea promising candidate in photocatalytic fields under visible light.

Objective: Endoscopic transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (Endo-TLIF) has gained increasing popularity among spine surgeons. However, with the use of fluoroscopy, intraoperative radiation exposure remains a major concern. Here, we aim to introduce Endo-TLIF assisted by O-arm-based navigation and compare the results between O-arm navigation and fluoroscopy groups. Methods: Sixty-four patients were retrospectively analyzed from May 2019 to September 2020; the nonnavigation group comprised 34 patients, and the navigation group comprised 30 patients. Data on radiation dose, blood loss, postoperative drains, surgery time, complications, and length of hospital stay (LOS) were collected. Clinical outcomes were evaluated from postoperative data such as fusion rate, Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), and visual analogue scale (VAS). Radiation dose and surgery time were selected as primary outcomes; the others were second outcomes. Results: All patients were followed up for at least 12 months. No significant differences were detected in intraoperative hemorrhage, postoperative drains, hospital LOS, or complications between the 2 groups. The radiation dose was significantly lower in the navigation group compared with the nonnavigation group. The time of cannula placement and pedicle screw fixation was significantly reduced in the navigation group. No significant differences were detected between the clinical outcomes in the 2 groups (VAS and ODI scores). Conclusion: The present study demonstrates that O-arm-assisted Endo-TLIF is efficient and safe. Compared with fluoroscopy, O-arm navigation could reduce the radiation exposure and surgical time in Endo-TLIF surgery, with similar clinical outcomes. However, the higher doses exposed to patients remains a negative effect of this technology.

Honey quality is in relation to botanical origin, and physicochemical properties, elemental composition, and antioxidant activity have been used for assessment and identification of honeys. The goal of this study is to contribute to the general analysis of five unifloral honeys from Cocos nucifera L., Dalbergia benthami Prain, Bombax ceiba L., Castanea mollissima Bl., and mangrove in Hainan province, China. Our results revealed that B. ceiba honey had the highest pH (4.27), color (139.33 mm Pfund), ash content (1.03 g/100 g), and electrical conductivity (1312.00 μS/cm) in five unifloral honeys. Furthermore, B. ceiba honey also contained the highest levels of total phenolic content (75.54 mg GAE/100 g) and total flavonoid content (29.22 mg RE/100 g), as well as the strongest antioxidant activity (DPPH IC50 value, 3.97 mg/mL; FRAP value, 6527.43 µmol TE/kg). Moreover, we revealed a considerable variation in element contents in honeys using ICP-MS, with potassium being the most predominant element. B. ceiba honey had the highest contents of K, Ca, Mg, and P, whereas the highest amount of Na was found in mangrove honey. Overall, our data indicated that B. ceiba honey deserves further research as a potential antioxidant agent.
Sampled-data Fuzzy Control of Two-wheel Inverted Pendulums Based on Passivity Theory

In this paper, an aperiodically sampled-data control scheme is detailed for the two-wheel inverted pendulum using Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy models. The passivity theory is applied in the presence of the disturbances in the actuator channel. A two-rule fuzzy model is utilized to represent the two-wheel inverted pendulum. By using the pendulum angle as the antecedent variable of the fuzzy rule, a passive sampled-data controller is established using the pendulum inclination angle and the mean value of the rim motors’ rotary angles. A Lyapunov-like function based on the two fuzzy rules is constructed to develop criteria of passivity, by the utilization of very-strict passivity in terms of the pendulum angle. Then a solution to the gains of sampled-data controller is synthesized to ensure the very-strict passivity of the pendulum system. By the illustrative examples, the effectiveness of the variable-sampling control scheme is validated for the two-wheel inverted pendulum.
Aero-Sim: An NS-2 Based simulator for Aeronautical Ad Hoc Networks

Recently, there has been a clear trend towards the application of ad hoc networking technology in civil aviation communication systems, giving birth to a new research field, namely, aeronautical ad hoc networks (AANETs). An AANET is a special type of ad hoc wireless network with a significantly larger scale and distinct characteristics of its mobile nodes. Thus, there is an urgent need to develop a simulator to facilitate the research in these networks. In this paper, we present a network simulator, Aero-Sim, for AANETs. Aero-Sim, which is based on the freely distributed NS-2 simulator, enables detailed packet-level simulations of protocols at the MAC, link, network, transport, and application layers by composing simulations with existing modules and protocols in NS-2. Moreover, Aero-Sim supports three-dimensional network deployment. Through several case studies using realistic China domestic air traffic, we show that the proposed simulator can be used to simulate AANETs and can reproduce the real world with high fidelity.

−It is imperative to have an in-depth understanding of the intrinsic reaction between coal and oxygen during low-temperature oxidation, as the reaction is the main source responsible for the self-heating and spontaneous combustion of coal. As low-temperature oxidation of coal involves a series of physical and chemical process and many parallel reactions, it is difficult to directly investigate the intrinsic reaction between coal and oxygen by conventional analytical method. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) was used to investigate the intrinsic reaction between coal and oxygen based on the mass change. By means of the subtraction analysis method of TGA, the TG-subtraction curves were obtained by subtracting the TG-N2 curves from the TG-air curves. The results indicate that a TG-subtraction curve can better reflect the intrinsic reaction of coal oxidation than a TG-air curve by eliminating the influence of evaporation of water and thermal decomposition of inherent oxygen-containing groups. In terms of the rate of mass increase, the intrinsic reactions can be divided into three stages: slow oxidation stage, advanced oxidation stage and rapid oxidation stage. The activation energy at each of the stages, obtained by Coats and Redfern’s model, can be used to as a technical parameter to evaluate the proneness of coal spontaneous combustion. The optimum experiment conditions were also developed to study low-temperature coal oxidation with the subtraction method of TGA.

The high-purity germanium gamma-ray spectrometer was used to measure the radioisotope in surface water of lakes in a Chinee petroleum industrial area. 92 samples were collected from surface water of three lakes. Activity concentrations of 232Th, 226Ra and 40K in three lakes were measured, distributed in the range of 101.8–209.4, 192.1–224.9 and 335.0–548.9 mBq/L, respectively. Results were all within the limits of WHO and China. Potential environmental and health risks were assessed by calculating some radiation hazard indicators, radium equivalent index, annual effective dose, excess lifetime cancer risk, absorbed dose rate, external hazard index, internal hazard index, annual gonadal dose equivalent, activity utilization index and representative gamma index, which ranged 0.38–0.54 Bq/L, 0.06–0.08 mSv/y, 0.23 × 10 3-0.31 × 10 3, 0.17–0.24 nGy/h, 1.01 × 10 3-1.46 × 10 3, 1.55 × 10 3-2.02 × 10 3, 1.16–1.66 μSv/y, 3.13 × 10 3-4.45 × 10 3 and 2.60 × 10 3-3.77 × 10 3. The results were all at acceptable levels, meaning no impact on human health. The relationship between the electrical conductivity of surface water and the activity concentration of 232Th, 226Ra and 40K was evaluated. The electrical conductivity value was 0.241–0.369 mS/cm, showing a significant correlation coefficient between 226Ra and 40K and electrical conductivity. Multivariate statistical methods were used to determine the relationship between the activity concentrations of 232Th, 226Ra, and 40K, radiation hazard indicators and electrical conductivity.
