<P>We report a fully integrated device that can perform both multiple biochemical analysis and sandwich type immunoassay simultaneously on a disc. The whole blood is applied directly to the disposable “lab-on-a-disc” containing different kinds of freeze-dried reagents for the blood chemistry analysis as well as reagents required for the immunoassay. The concentrations of different kinds of analytes are reported within 22 min by simply inserting a disc to a portable device. Using the innovative laser irradiated ferrowax microvalves together with the centrifugal microfluidics, the total process of plasma separation, metering, mixing, incubation, washing, and detection is fully automated. The analyzer is equipped with an optical detection module to measure absorbances at 10 different wavelengths to accommodate the various kinds of reaction protocols. Compared to the conventional blood analysis done in clinical laboratories, it is advantageous for point-of-care applications because it requires a smaller amount of blood (350 μL <I>vs.</I> 3 mL), takes less time (22 min <I>vs.</I> several days), does not require specially trained operators or expensive instruments to run biochemical analysis and immunoassay separately.</P> <P>Graphic Abstract</P><P>We report a fully integrated lab-on-a-disc system for simultaneous analysis of clinical chemistry and enzyme-linked immuno-sorbent assay (ELISA) from whole blood. <IMG SRC='http://pubs.rsc.org/services/images/RSCpubs.ePlatform.Service.FreeContent.ImageService.svc/ImageService/image/GA?id=c0lc00205d'> </P>

Pseudo-pheochromocytoma is defined as an adrenal tumor that has the typical characteristics of pheochromocytoma likely hypertension but is histopathologically diagnosed to other types of adrenal tumors. 11-year-old, castrated male Maltese presented for a left adrenal mass with hypertension. According to clinical signs and radiological features, a temporary diagnosis was made of pheochromocytoma. The adrenalectomy was performed and the histopathological examination of the resected adrenal gland was diagnosed as cortical adenocarcinoma. This report describes the case of pseudo-pheochromocytoma in a dog and implies the salience that even if pheochromocytoma is diagnosed based on all test results, pseudo-pheochromocytoma should not be excluded.

<P>Holographic-optical-element (HOE)-based integral imaging display can be applied to augmented reality. However, a narrow viewing angle is a bottleneck for commercialization. Here, we propose a method to enhance the viewing angle of the integral imaging display using Bragg mismatched reconstruction of HOEs. The viewing angle of the integral imaging display can be enlarged with two probe waves, which form two different viewing zones. The effect of Bragg mismatched reconstruction is analyzed with simulation and experiment. In order to show feasibility of the proposed method, a display experiment is demonstrated. 손실 함수와 후처리 기법을 이용한 실시간 음성 향상 모델의 성능 개선 연구

본 논문은 기존에 제안된 딥러닝 기반 실시간 음성 향상 모델[1]을 보완하여 음성 품질 개선 성능을 올릴 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. 기존에 제안된 모델[1]에 더 적합한 손실 함수를 적용하고, 추가로 후처리 과정[3]을 적용하여 두 단계에 걸쳐 잡음을 제거하는 음성 향상 시스템을 제안하였다. 객관적인 음질 평가를 위한 지표로 PESQ(Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality)를 사용하여 기존 모델과 대비해 제안된 시스템의 음성 향상 성능이 올랐음을 확인하였다.

MZ세대를 중심으로 윤리적 소비를 중시하는 미닝아웃 소비 트렌드와 온라인 소액기부에 대한 긍정적 참여의향이 확산되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 반려동물을 키우고 싶지만 여건이 되지 않아 키우지 못하는 ‘랜선집사’를 위한 온라인 유기동물 후원 플랫폼 서비스를 제안한다. 유기동물 보호센터와 연계한 유기동물 후원 관계 맺기 시스템을 통해 사용자와 후원 동물 간 유대감 형성 및 보호센터 관리의 질 향상을 목적으로 하며, 궁극적으로 사용자의 정서적 만족감 충족과 유기동물의 입양 가능성 증가를 기대한다. Mining-out consumer trends that value ethical consumption and willingness to participate in micro-donations online are spreading among the MZ generation. For "online growers" who wish to have pets but cannot afford to, an online micro-donation platform service for abandoned pets is proposed in this paper. It aims to build a bond between users and abandoned pets, to improve the quality of care for pets, and ultimately to meet users" emotional satisfaction and increase the chance of adoption of abandoned pets.
