유채, 계자 등 Brassica속 유전자원을 대상으로 단백질 함량과 아미노산 조성을 분석 조사하여 유채 양질 다수성 품종육성에 필요한 기초자료를 얻고자 시험을 수행한 바 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. Brassica속 유전자원의 단백질 함량은 15.3%에서 36.2%까지의 넓은 변이폭을 보였으며, 평균 단백질 함량은 23.2%로 나타났다. 단백질 함량이 가장 높은 품종은 캐나다 유래의 B.hirta인 Ochre였으며 가장 낮은 품종은 B. napus인 Mirado였다. 2. 종실이 소립으로 가벼울수록 단백질 함량은 높은 경향이었다. 3. Brassica속 작물의 단백질 함량 변이는 B.napus에서 15.3-30.2%의 범위를 보여 주었으며, B.juncea, B.carinata, B.hirta, B.nigra등은 31% 이상으로 매우 높게 나타났다. 4. 단백질 함량과 유박내 유해성분함량간에는 뚜렷한 경향은 없었으나 단백질과 기름 및 1,000립중간에는 고도의 부의 상관을 보여주었다.

Fifteen genotypes of rapeseed were used in the study of embryogenesis and temeprature treatment to the embryo induced from microspore culture. Embryo yields, frequency of normal embryo production and plant regeneration rate were greatly different between genotypes and between plants within a genotype. Embryo yield ranged from 6 to 302 embryos per bud, normal embryos ranged from 7 to 84.1% of total embryos produced, and plant regeneration from embryos showed from 0 to 35.4%, of embryos subcultured. Plant regeneration from embryo age of 28 days was most efficient by cold temperature treatment at 4℃ and exposure times for 9 days.

To obtain the basic information for rapeseed breeding, embryogenesis by microspore-developmental stages and the relationship between anther length and microspore-developmental stages were investigated. The embryogenesis by bud sizes were most efficient from 3.5 to 4.5mm for Topas and from 2.8 to 3.3 mm for MSB 69-11, and the anther lengths were from 2.0 to 2.9mm. The best response for the tested varieties was from buds with a petal/anther ratio of 2/3 and 3/4. The late uninucleate stage has been identified as optimal for embryo production in B. napus. At the late uninucleate stage the exine was rigid, dark yellow in color and the nucleus was displaced to the periphery of the cell.

This experiment was conducted to select a culture medium in anther culture of perilla. Several basal medium supplemented with growth regulators were adapted in the experiment. Callus induction ability and plant regeneration efficiency were observed in each adapted medium. Callus induction rate was the highest as 86% in the MS medium supplemented with 2.Omg/ℓ 2,4-D, 1.0mg/ℓ NAA and 2.0mg/ℓ kinetin. The produced callus in the anther culture media was transfered to the plant regeneration culture media of which developed plantlets. On MS medium supplemented with 0.1mg/ℓ NAA and 0.5mg/ℓ BA induced the highest frequency of shoot as 66.9% compared to any other medium tested. The multiple shoots removed roots could be regenerated into individual shoot on MS medium with 0.1mg/ℓ NAA and 0.5mg/ℓ BA and then transfered to teralium box in order to get complete plant. Complete plants were obtained 100% after translanting in soil bed type of vermiculite 1:sand 1:compost 1. Regenerated plants from anther culture were confirmed as haploid with n=20 haploidal somatic chromosome number in the root tip chromosome observation.

This study was conducted to obtain the information of the estimates of combining ability and correlation for major traits in crosses among CMS lines and forage rape varieties. Four lines of CMS, cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS) introduced from the West Germany, and four parents introduced from Europe, were crossed to obtain the sixteen hybrids according to M × N design. Estimated variance for general combining ability (GCA) was significant for all traits except the length of leaf. Specific combining ability (SCA) variance was also significant for all traits studied, but smaller than that of GCA. Highly significant positive GCA effects were observed for fresh forage weight in Velox, however GCA effects in CMS 3, Akela, Belinda and Maja, were showed negative for several traits. CMS 2 × Belinda and CMS 4 × Velox revealed relatively high SCA effects for fresh forage weight. A highly significant positive correlation were appeared between fresh forage weight and all of the other traits.

한국에서 개발한 고추 9품종, 토마토 5품종을 대상으로 캄보디아의 고온 조건에서 차광재배를 통하여 적응품종을 선발하고 그 품종과 함께 재배기술을 수요자에게 보급함으로서 소득향상에 기여할 기초자료를 얻고자 본 연구를 수행한 바 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 고추 품종의 과폭은 최대 1.35 cm (60%차광 Internet), 최소 0.56 cm(10%차광 Chili9) 로 나타났다 2. 고추 품종의 과장은 Asia Dan 4를 제외한 모든 품종에서 10%, 60% 차광의 경우 무차광에 비하여 커지는 경향이었다. 3. 고추의 과중은 0.9 g (무차광 Asia Dan)에서 7.3 g (60% Hot Asia)의 범위로 품종별, 차광별로 차이를 보였다. 4. Chili 9를 제외한 고추품종에서 차광재배보다 무차광에서 주당 과실수가 많았다. 특히 무차광일 경우 Asia Dan 2, Asia Dan 4, Asia Dan 24 등은 각각 55개, 40개, 41개 등으로 차광처리구 보다 많았다. Hot Asia, Hot Pia, Internet 품종 등은 차광재배가 더 유리한 것으로 보였다. Asia Dan 2, Asia Dan 4, Asia Dan 24 등은 노지재배가 더 유리할 것으로 보였다. 5. 토마토의 경우 10%와 60%차광의 과실수는 품종에 따라 10개 ~ 36개의 범위를 보였다. 반면 무차광의 경우는 품종에 따라 46 ~ 81개로 많았다. 특히 Hero110 과 Hera110의 경우 10%차광, 60%차광처리에 비해 무차광일 경우 4배 이상 높은 수확량을 보였다. 6. 토마토의 당도는 Asia Rio를 제외한 나머지는 무차광에서 높았다. 특히 Hero80은 다른 품종에 비하여 6.1 brix°를 보여 월등하게 높았다. This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of shade on growth and yield of Korean red pepper and tomato varieties in Cambodia. The shade levels were 10% and 60% of full sunlight, respectively. The width of fruits was measured maximum which is 1.35cm (60% shade, cv : Internet), and minimum is 0.56cm (10% shade, cv : Chili 9) in red pepper. The number of fruits per red pepper plant in unshaded full sunlight was more than shading condition. Especially in unshaded full sunlight, the number of fruits per plant for Asia Dan 2, Asia Dan 4 and Asia Dan 24 were better than shading condition. Shading condition should be selected for red pepper varieties such as Hot Pia, Hot Asia and Internet. Red pepper varieties such as Asia Dan 2, Asia Dan 4 and Asia Dan 24 have been shown better performance when they are provided unshaded full sunlight. The number of fruits per tomato plant ranged from 10 to 36 in 10% and 60% shade, and unshaded full sunlight showed from 46 to 81. Sugar content of selected tomato variety such as Hero 80 was more than 6.1 brix°.
A rapid and simple technique for determination of α-linolenic acid by spot test in perilla seeds

The objective of this study was to establish the effective use of spot test for early selection of perilla mutants which have low α-linolenic acid in seed oil. The average α-linolenic acid content with 30 accessions determined by GLC was 57.9% and the contents ranged from 51.4 to 65.6%. The results of spot test, red colour is related to high α-linolenic acid content in perilla whereas yellow colour indicates absence of α-linolenic acid. The colour density by an image analysis was highest in perilla among oil crops tested. The correlation coefficient between colour density by spot test and α-linolenic acid content determined by GLC was highly significant. Therefore, the spot test was considered useful as a preliminary screening method for the relative α-linolenic acid content in mutation breeding.

To obtain the basic information for improving the quality of rapeseed meals, the inheritance of 3-butenly-isothiocyanate and 4-pentenylisothiocyanate content was estimated in the study of reciprocal crosses among the low glucosinolate Korean variety Youngsan and 3 other high glucosinolate varieties. The segregation ratio of 3-butenylisothiocyanate content was fitted to the ratio of 63:1, and the low 3-butenylisothiocyanate content of seed meal was considered to be controlled by three pairs of recessive genes. The low 4-pentenylisothiocyanate content of seed meal would be controlled by four pairs of recessive genes. The inheritance of 3-butenyl and 4-pentenylisothiocyanate content were influenced by the cytoplasm. The cytoplasmic influence was also detected in the inheritance of 3 butenyl and 4-pentenylisothiocyanate content.
