Residual Stresses of α-Al2O3/Ni Nano-Composite Coating Prepared by Automatic Brush Plating Technique

        Jia Man,Song Zhang,Xiaona Luan,Yuan Hai,Gaoli Cai 한국정밀공학회 2017 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.4 No.1

Brush plating is one of the remanufacturing technologies which have been widely used in engine remanufacturing. In this paper, α-Al2O3/Ni composite coatings were prepared on the inner hole face of the big end of connecting rod by a self-made automatic plating machine. To investigate the effects of process parameters on residual stresses of α-Al2O3/Ni composite coating, a L16(44) orthogonal experiment was designed and operated in which four process parameters (voltage, concentration of α-Al2O3 particles, speed, and distance between anode and workpiece) were selected as factors. ANOVA (analysis of variance) were employed to determine the effects of process parameters on the residual stresses of composite coatings. It was found that speed was the most significant factor for the residual stresses. The optimal process parameters for the desirable residual stresses were obtained, which was proved to be valid by the verification experiments. In addition, single factor experiments were employed to study the main effects of process parameters on composite coatings.

      • Regulation Roles of MICA and NKG2D in Human Renal Cancer Cells

        Jia, Hong-Ying,Liu, Jun-Li,Yuan, Ming-Zhen,Zhou, Cheng-Jun,Sun, Wen-Dong,Zhao, Jing-Jie,Wang, Jue,Liu, Ling,Luan, Yun Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.9

Objective: Our aim was to investigation the roles of MHC class I chain-related gene A(MICA) and natural killer cell group 2D(NKG2D) in human renal cancer cells. Materials and Methods: The expression of membrane MICA (mMICA) on renal cells and NKG2D on NK cells were detected by flow cytometry (FCM); the content of sMICA were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and the distribution of mMICA on renal tumor tissues by immunohistochemistry; the interaction between MICA and NKG2D was observed by antibody closed method. Results: Our results showed that the expression of mMICA in renal cancer tissues was significantly higher than in controls, where the soluble MICA was not expressed. Cytotoxic activity of NK cells was significantly reduced after exposure to NKG2D and MICA antibodies (P<0.05), and serum containing sMICA can obviously lower the function of NKG2D (P<0.05). Conclusions: The interaction of mMICA and NKG2D play important roles in mediation of cytotoxicity of NK cells in RCC. On the other hand, sMICA may mediate tumor immune escape through down- regulated NKG2D expression.

      • High Expression of MICA in Human Kidney Cancer Tissue and Renal Cell Carcinoma Lines

        Jia, Hong-Ying,Liu, Jun-Li,Zhou, Cheng-Jun,Kong, Feng,Yuan, Ming-Zhen,Sun, Wen-Dong,Wang, Jue,Liu, Ling,Zhao, Jing-Jie,Luan, Yun Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.4

The overall incidence and mortality of renal cell carcinoma (RCC), the most common kidney cancer, are steadily increasing for reasons that are not fully explained. Our aim was to explore the expression of membrane MHC class I chain-related gene A (mMICA) in human RCC cell lines and tissue specimens, and to determine expression of soluble MICA (sMICA) in serum of patients with renal cell carcinoma, we used flow cytometry (FCM) and immunohistochemistry as well as an enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The results showed that percentage of mMICA expression was significantly increased in human kidney cancer tissues and RCC cell lines (786-O and Ketr-3) than that in healthy adults and human embryonic kidney 293 (HEK293) cell line individuality (P<0.05). sMICA content in healthy adults was negative, but in renal cancer patients was significantly elevated (P<0.05). Our research showed that high expression of MICA in human kidney cancer, this results show that MICA might serve as potential tumor-associated antigen (TAA) in RCC.

Development and Validation of a Low-Cost and Simple Simulator for Microlaryngeal Surgery

        Pengcheng Yu,Jia Luan,Xidong Cui,Xumao Li,Xinqi Hu,Guangbin Sun 대한이비인후과학회 2020 Clinical and Experimental Otorhinolaryngology Vol.13 No.1

Objectives. The simulation of microlaryngeal skills is rarely seen in surgical training, but it is particularly important in phonomicrosurgery. This study described and validated the laryngeal surgical simulator through surgical training. Methods. A simple and low-cost simulator was developed for the fixation of the suspension laryngoscope and porcine larynges. Twenty participants with work skills and experience did preparation before training, and performed suture and carbon dioxide (CO2) laser cordectomy for simulator evaluation. The results were proposed by the aspects of time taken for each procedure, the global rating scale, a procedure-specific assessment, and a post-simulation questionnaire. Results. All participants completed the preparation within 9 minutes and reached the conclusion that the microlaryngeal surgical simulator was helpful in improving their surgical skills. The performance of experts was superior to that of novices in both suture and CO2 laser cordectomy. Conclusion. This simulator could be easily assembled and was successfully validated by microlaryngeal surgical training both subjectively and objectively. It may be helpful to clinicians in microlaryngeal skills.

        Yu Zhang,Zhongbin Su,Weizheng Shen,Renshan Jia,Jiling Luan 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Smart Home Vol.10 No.7

Rice heading is the critical stage of the growth of rice, rice plants are relatively large, field canopy, poor resistance, and coincided with the high temperature and rainy weather, pests and diseases are more prone period. Therefore, the use of UAV to monitor the growth status of rice, easy to understand rice growth and nutritional status, in order to achieve high-quality, high yield, efficient purpose. This article is the field experiments under different nitrogen levels, using UAV monitoring multispectral images of rice, by reference remote sensing spectral indices, derived green normalized difference vegetation index (GNDVI) relative to other spectral index is more suitable for rice field biomass inversion modeling. At the same time, this study is based on the inversion model, implemented the rice growing and nitrogen content graded by ISODATA methods in ENVI. Achieved classification on rice growth and nitrogen remote sensing thematic map in ArcGIS, to provide timely and accurate information for rice seedling diagnosis and management decision, has reached the purpose of rice production precise management.

Direct current exerts electricidal and bioelectric effects on Porphyromonas gingivalis biofilms partially via promoting oxidative stress and antibiotic transport

        Zou Peihui,Li Peng,Liu Jia,Cao Pei,Luan Qingxian 한국미생물학회 2022 The journal of microbiology Vol.60 No.1

Low electric current can inhibit certain microbial biofilms and enhance the efficacy of antimicrobials against them. This study investigated the electricidal and bioelectric effects of direct current (DC) against Porphyromonas gingivalis biofilms as well as the underlying mechanisms. Here, we firstly showed that DC significantly suppressed biofilm formation of P. gingivalis in time- and intensity-dependent manners, and markedly inhibited preformed P. gingivalis biofilms. Moreover, DC enhanced the killing efficacy of metronidazole (MTZ) and amoxicillin with clavulanate potassium (AMC) against the biofilms. Notably, DC-treated biofilms displayed upregulated intracellular ROS and expression of ROS related genes (sod, feoB, and oxyR) as well as porin gene. Interestingly, DC-induced killing of biofilms was partially reversed by ROS scavenger N-dimethylthiourea (DMTU), and the synergistic effect of DC with MTZ/AMC was weakened by small interfering RNA of porin gene (si-Porin). In conclusion, DC can exert electricidal and bioelectric effects against P. gingivalis biofilms partially via promotion of oxidative stress and antibiotic transport, which offers a promising approach for effective management of periodontitis.
