Entropy Effect on Tri-Polar and Quadrupolar Magnetized Vortex in Electron-Positron and Ion (EPI) Plasma

        Imran Amin,M. Yaqoob Khan,M. Waqar Ahmed,Faris Alzahrani,M. Ijaz Khan 한국자기학회 2023 Journal of Magnetics Vol.28 No.1

The entropy of electron-positron and ion plasma plays a significant role in the transportation of particles, momentum, and energy. Drift waves in these plasmas produce central mechanisms for this transport. The effects on tri-polar and quadrupolar vortexes in epi plasma have been analyzed numerically under various approximations. As plasma consists of various elements, it is important to understand the effects of entropy on systems. In this article, we have discussed how entropy affects linear and non-linear equations in the presence of temperature, equilibrium density, electrostatic potential gradients, and a magnetic field. Additionally, by investigating tri-polar and quadrupolar vortexes without regard for entropy effect we can find information about this phenomenon.

Vertebral Endplate Changes Correlate with Presence of Cartilaginous Endplate in the Herniated Disc Tissue: Factor Predicting Failure of Conservative Treatment

        Latif Rabia,Imran Sumera,Ahmad Ijaz,Ilyas Muhammad Saad,Aziz Amer,Zehra Uruj 대한척추외과학회 2022 Asian Spine Journal Vol.16 No.2

Study Design: Cross-sectional comparative. Purpose: To characterize the scores of disc degeneration, inflammation, and nerve density in herniated disc samples and associate findings with the presence of vertebral endplate (VEP) changes on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Overview of Literature: Considering the role of disc composition in spontaneous regression and persistence of pain during conservative management, it is important to identify the influencing factors. VEP changes are highly associated with disc degeneration, but their correlation with herniated disc composition has not yet been reported. Methods: Fifty-one discs were obtained from patients undergoing surgery for herniated disc. Their ages ranged from 19-65 years, and 31/51 were male. Pre-surgical T1 and T2 weighted lumbar-spine MRIs were analyzed to observe Pfirrmann grade, VEP defects, herniation type, Modic changes, and high-intensity zones (HIZ) at the affected level. Five-micron thick sections were stained with hematoxylin and eosin, Alcian blue periodic acid–Schiff stain; examined for histological degeneration scores (HDS; 0–15), inflammation (0 [absence]–3 [severe]), and presence of cartilaginous endplate (CEP). Three-micron thick sections were stained with protein-gene-product 9.5 and expression was counted/mm2. Data was analyzed, and p<0.05 was considered to indicate statistical significance. Results: VEP defects, Modic changes, and HIZ were respectively observed in 30/51, 16/51, and 6/51 of the samples. CEP was observed in 26/51 samples and in 23/51 with endplate defects. Discs with adjacent VEP defects showed increased HDS (p<0.001) and inflammation (p<0.001). Discs with adjacent Modic changes also revealed increased HDS (p=0.01). Histological sections with CEP showed increased HDS (p<0.001) and inflammation (p<0.001), and nerve density was significantly positively correlated with HDS (r=0.27, p=0.02). Conclusions: VEP changes can modulate degeneration and inflammation of herniated discs. Presence of these changes is highly predictive of the occurrence of CEP in herniated discs, which leads to slow resorption and persistent clinical symptoms.

Cost Behaviors and Cost Structure of Public Hospitals in India: Analysis from the Perspective of Congestion Costs

Nidhish Kumar MISHRA,Ijaz ALI,Nabil Ahmed Mareai SENAN,Moin UDDIN,Asif BAIG,Asma KHATOON,Ashraf IMAM,Imran Ahmad KHAN 한국유통과학회 2022 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.9 No.4

The goal of this study is to understand better the relationship between hospital bed occupancy rate and cost rigidity as a proxy for the degree of hospital bed congestion, as well as the relationship between the risk of changes in hospital bed occupancy rate and congestion cost, targeting public hospitals. As public hospitals for analysis, we selected hospital projects from the Public Enterprises Survey Reports published by the Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Finance, and obtained unbalanced panel data consisting of 1,505 hospitals and 15 years, totaling 12,595 hospitals and years. The analysis revealed that the risk of changes in the bed occupancy rate increases the degree of cost rigidity and leads to a decrease in the variable cost ratio; furthermore, an increase in the bed occupancy rate decreases the degree of cost rigidity and leads to an increase in the variable cost ratio. These findings suggest that although public hospitals are taking managerial actions to avoid congestion costs, congestion costs resulting from higher bed occupancy rates have not been eliminated. The regression analysis results show that even if congestion costs arise as the occupancy rate increases, they are covered by the increase in revenue associated with the increase in the occupancy rate.

The Effect of Departmental Accounting Practices on Organizational Performance: Empirical Evidence from the Hospital Sector in India

Nidhish Kumar MISHRA,Ijaz ALI,Nabil Ahmed Mareai SENAN,Moin UDDIN,Asif BAIG,Asma KHATOON,Ashraf IMAM,Imran Ahmad KHAN 한국유통과학회 2022 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.9 No.4

Using data from a departmental profit and loss management questionnaire survey conducted for a group of hospitals consisting of various establishment entities, this study evaluates the effectiveness of departmental profit and loss management practices, such as break-even analysis, based on objective performance data. The study also examines whether the implementation of departmental profit and loss accounting is still effective in improving profitability in the financial year 2021 and whether the effectiveness of the implementation of departmental profit and loss accounting is robust. This study reconfirmed that the implementation of departmental profit-and-loss accounting has a positive effect on objective financial performance in hospitals and that the effect of improving profitability can be enhanced by implementing it monthly with high frequency and regularity and by using the accounting results more actively. It was also found that the department’s implementation of break-even analysis had a positive impact on financial performance, which was enhanced by more active use of the data. Given the current economic climate, a hospital organization’s active participation in income statement management, not only for the hospital as a whole but also for each department, would be an effective management activity.

Effects of the Fair Value of Biological Assets on the Cost of Debt: An International Study

ERFAN, Neven,ALI, Ijaz,KHAN, Soha,KHAN, Imran Ahmad Korea Distribution Science Association 2022 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.9 No.8

This study aims to investigate the effects of fair value valuation of biological assets and bearer plants measured at historical cost on the cost of third-party capital. The study contributes to the agricultural sector and the International Accounting Standard - IAS 41, which has been modified to remove the requirement to apply fair value for bearer plants, one of the primary biological assets with no active market. For this, 182 companies from 39 countries were studied in the years 2020 and 2021, with information taken from the Thomson Reuters Eikon platform. The methodology involves regression by the ordinary least squares method based on the model of Daly and Skaife (2016). The results show that the biological asset at fair value does not influence the cost of debt and that the measurement of bearer plants at historical cost has no effect on the cost of debt. Fair value did not change the perceived cost of debt of the analyzed companies in the studied period, contrary to Daly and Skaife (2016). Finally, the cost of third-party capital can be influenced by other aspects related to profit quality, which were not examined in this paper, such as profit management.

      • Implementation of User Authentication as a Service for Cloud Network

Masood Shah,Abdul Salam Shah,Imran Ijaz 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Grid and Distributed Comp Vol.9 No.10

There are so many security risks for the users of cloud computing, but still the organizations are switching towards the cloud. The cloud provides data protection and a huge amount of memory usage remotely or virtually. The organization has not adopted the cloud computing completely due to some security issues. The research in cloud computing has more focus on privacy and security in the new categorization attack surface. User authentication is the additional overhead for the companies besides the management of availability of cloud services. This paper is based on the proposed model to provide central authentication technique so that secured access of resources can be provided to users instead of adopting some unordered user authentication techniques. The model is also implemented as a prototype.
