In the solution polymerizations of methyl methacrylate with (α-diimine)nickel(II)/methylaluminoxane (MAO), we observed effects of the position of two methyl substituents in the ligand on both the activities of the catalysts and the polymer microstructure. α-Diimine nickel(II) catalysts gave syndiotactic-rich poly(methyl methacrylate) with high molecular weight and narrow molecular weight distribution.

This research is to classify psychological risk perceptions in purchases process of counterfeit of fashion luxury brands, into a risk perception on purchase activity itself and a risk perception on the post-purchase situation, and to analyze types and characteristics of risk reduction behaviors to reduce each risk perception. In this research a qualitative method was employed, and research-related data were collected and analyzed through in-depth interviews. Results were shown that risk reduction behaviors of psychological risk perception on purchase activity itself included rationalization of purchase, accompanied purchase, reduction and discontinuance of purchase, and that risk reduction behaviors of psychological risk perception on the post-purchase situation included information search, establishment of selection criteria, establishment of marginal limit, selective purchase, planned and compared purchase, and reduction and discontinuance of purchase. Previous researches suggested brand loyalty, selection of famous brands, utilization of information agents by marketers, pre-purchase usage and guaranteed purchase, but these risk reduction methods were not utilized, this probably being interpreted as a result of characteristics of counterfeit. In addition, risk reduction behavior of one type tended to reduce risk perception of several other types, and risk reduction behaviors of various types were utilized to reduce a certain type`s risk perception. Not only types of risk perception but also levels of risk perception appeared to have exerted influence to risk reduction behaviors.

We developed 3-D network carbon materials by directly pyrolyzing as-prepared polynaphthalene (PNT). The PNT-based materials were synthesized from chloromethylated naphthalene and were self-polymerized using anhydrous aluminum chloride as the Friedel-Crafts catalyst and chloromethyl methyl ether as a crosslinker. The micro-, meso-, and macroporous 3-D carbon materials showed large specific surface areas, large electrolyte-electrode interface areas, and continuous electron transport paths. MnO2/carbon composites were then synthesized by chemically depositing MnO2 onto the carbon substrate surfaces through a self-limiting redox reaction between KMnO4 solution and carbon substrates, producing high-performance pseudo-capacitor electrodes. The unique electrode architecture demonstrated high capacitance up to 286.8 F g−1, and good cycling stability up to 1000 cycles without losing its capacitance. The electrode shows potential applications for the development of high-performance supercapacitors for a variety of power-demanding devices.

Effects of structural variations of the diimine ligand on catalyst activities for vinyl polymerization of norbornene (NB) have been investigated by a series of Ni(II) α-diimine catalysts of the general formula: [{ArN=C(Ac)- C(Ac)=NAr}]NiBr2 (Ac=acenaphthyl) (Cat(H), Ar=C6H5; Cat(2,6-Me), Ar=2,6-C6H3Me2; Cat(2,6-Et), Ar=2,6-C6H3Et2; Cat(2,6-iPr), Ar=2,6-C6H3 i-Pr2; Cat(2,3-Me), Ar=2,3-C6H3Me2; Cat(2,4-Me), Ar=2,4-C6H3Me2; Cat(2,5-Me), Ar= 2,5-C6H3Me2; Cat(3,5-Me), Ar=3,5-C6H3Me2; Cat(2,4,6-Me), Ar=2,4,6-C6H2Me3). In situ reactions with methylaluminoxane generated the active catalysts, and they showed good activity towards NB polymerizations. As indicated by relatively higher activities of Cat(H) and Cat(3,5-Me), it can be generalized that catalysts having 2,6-substituents are less active due to steric interaction between monomer and substituents. In addition, electron donating methyl groups at 2-, 4- or 6-position on the N-aryl have a con effect and that at 3,5-position has a pro effect.
Cat-induced Pasteurella multocida peritonitis in continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis

Pasteurella multocida is a zoonotic pathogen found in the oral cavities of both domestic and wild animals. Although P. multocida has been involved in a wide range of human diseases, only a limited number of studies on P. multocida peritonitis in patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis (PD) had been carried out. We herein present the case of P. multocida peritonitis in a patient undergoing continuous ambulatory PD, which is believed to have resulted from contact with cats. We suggest that patients undergoing PD and having domestic animals at home should be educated about the possible transmission of the infection from the animals; in addition, these patients should also maintain a high level of personal hygiene.
A Case of Unexplained Abdominal Pain with Unilateral Pelvic Kidney

서론/목적: Anomalies in the kidney may occur in the number, position, shape, size and rotation. Incidence of ectopic kidney is 1 in 100 and 1 in 500, and pelvic kidney has been approximated at between 1 in 2,200 and 1 in 3,000. Anomalies of the kidney are mostly asymptomatic, and often found only during physical or radiological studies, incidentally. We present a case of unilateral pelvic kidney on the left side with unexplained relapsing abdominal pain. 증례: A paient, 43-year-old woman, frequently had discomfort of Lt. abdomen. We studied blood, urine analysis and radiologic exam to evaluate abdominal pain and available comorbidities. In the microscopic urine analysis test, the results were that WBC 5-9/HPF, RBC 0-1/HPF, Squamous epithelial cell 10-19 /HPF and morderate bacteria. Serum BUN and creatinine level were within normal range. Lt. kidney was coffee-bean like shape, located below of the pelvic inlet and the height was 9.5 cm, in the abdomen computed tomography (CT). The Lt. kidney`s upper pole was seen at the body of L5 vertebra. On the other hand, Rt. kidney was located in the normal T-spine level, and no other accompanying anomalies (i.e aorta, internal- or external-iliac artery, bladder, ureter). Gastroduodoscopy and colonoscopy were done and non-specific finding. 결론: In the pelvic kidney patient, the risk of stone formation and infection disease were high, cause by the altered geometry of urinary drainage. We follow up that patient for obstructive disorder or infection related by abdominal pain.
