We have developed a highly-integrated digital X-ray imaging sensor based upon a complementary-metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) array coupled with a columnar CsI(Tl) scintillator and an X-ray conversion fiberoptic plate for dental intraoral-imaging applications. The sensor consists of a commercially-available CMOS array with a 35 $\mu$m $\times$ 35 $\mu$m pixel size and a 24.1 mm $\times$ 31.6 mm active area, and a high-efficiency columnar CsI(Tl) scintillator of 90 $\mu$m in thickness directly deposited on a fiberoptic plate of a 6 $\mu$m in core size and 1.45 mm in thickness. In this paper, we describe the highly-integrated digital X-ray imaging sensor and evaluate its performance in terms of the modulation transfer function (MTF), the noise power spectrum (NPS), and the detective quantum efficiency (DQE), as indicators of image quality.
Filter Design for Grid-Connected Single-Phase Inverters

This paper proposes a filter design guideline for grid-connected single-phase inverters. By analyzing the instantaneous voltage applied to the filter inductor, the switching ripple current through the filter inductor can be precisely calculated. Therefore, filter inductance can be designed accurately, which guaranties that the switching ripple current will be under the target value. The proposed filter design method is verified by experiment.

The cutoff frequency of LC output filters of PWM inverters limits the control bandwidth of the converter system while it attenuates voltage ripples against the inverter switching. For a selected cutoff frequency of a LC output filter, infinite number of L-C combinations is possible. Although different L-C combination has different filter characteristics, the filter design on L-C combination has been mainly depended on field experiences without clear analysis. This paper proposes a design criterion and a design example for the L-C filter combination considering the control characteristics and the size of PWM inverters. An experimental PWM inverter system based on the proposed LC output filter design methodology is built and tested.
Eco-Friendly Photovoltaics Based on Stabilized AgBiS2 Nanocrystal Inks

We first report that long-chain ligands of AgBiS2 NCs are replaced with halometallate-based short ligands via solution-phase ligand exchange (SPLE). AgI and BiI3 are used as halometallate sources, and we find that colloidally stable, highly concentrated AgBiS2 NC inks in polar solvents are prepared via SPLE using AgI-based halometallates, enabling one-step deposition suitable for roll-to-roll process. This leads to higher degree of ligand exchange, sharper bandtail, lower trap density, and resultantly higher VOC in devices compared to conventional SSLE. We also first demonstrate that the photovoltaic performance can be improved by introducing ethanedithiol-exchanged AgBiS2 NCs on SPLE-prepared AgBiS2 NC solids because of favorable band alignment and extended depletion width. Thus, this enables improving device performance up to a power conversion efficiency of 4.08% with the highest VOC of 0.55 V among the AgBiS2 NC photovoltaics reported so far.
일반국도 자산관리시스템 도입을 위한 기본체계 구축에 관한 연구

우리나라의 경우 그동안 도로부문의 투자는 신규건설 그 자체가 정부 정책의 핵심이었다. 그러나 최근 정부의 도로부문 예산이 2000년을 정점으로 신규건설은 감소하고 유지관리는 증가하는 추세이다. 이러한 추세에서 도로 유지관리 예산 증가에 대한 정당성을 입증하면 서 서비스수준에 대한 사용자 요구에 부응할 수 있는 새로운 도로정책 패러다임이 필요하 다. 1950~60년대에 사회기반시설을 집중적으로 건설하였던 선진국들이 최근 공공시설물의 노후화에 대처하기 위해 자산관리 개념을 도입하여 많은 성과를 거두고 있다. 본 연구에서 는 일반국도의 효율적인 유지관리를 위해 "한국형 도로 자산관리시스템"을 구축하는데 필 요한 기본체계를 제시하였다. 이 시스템의 특징은 장기적이며 예방적인 도로 유지관리 정 책을 수립할 수 있도록 기존의 포장관리시스템에 경제성 분석 과정을 포함시키는데 있다.
