<P>A Gram-staining-negative, catalase- and oxidase-positive, non-motile bacterium, designated strain KOPRI 21160<SUP>T</SUP>, was isolated from Antarctic soil. Based on 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, strain KOPRI 21160<SUP>T</SUP> was found to belong to the genus <I>Polaribacter</I>. Sequence similarity between strain KOPRI 21160<SUP>T</SUP> and the type strains of species of the genus <I>Polaribacter</I> was 94.2–98.3 %. The nearest phylogenetic neighbours of strain KOPRI 21160<SUP>T</SUP> were <I>Polaribacter butkevichii</I> KCTC 12100<SUP>T</SUP> (98.3 % similarity) and <I>Polaribacter irgensii</I> KCTC 23136<SUP>T</SUP> (97.5 %). DNA–DNA relatedness was 50.6 %, between strain KOPRI 21160<SUP>T</SUP> and <I>P. butkevichii</I> KCTC 12100<SUP>T</SUP>, and 45.2 % between strain KOPRI 21160<SUP>T</SUP> and <I>P. irgensii</I> KCTC 23136<SUP>T</SUP>. Strain KOPRI 21160<SUP>T</SUP> grew at 4–37 °C and at pH 7.0–8.5. It could hydrolyse DNA, starch and Tweens 20, 40, 60 and 80. Menaquinone-6 (MK-6) was the only respiratory quinone, and iso-C<SUB>15 : 0</SUB>, iso-C<SUB>15 : 0</SUB> 3-OH and C<SUB>15 : 1</SUB>ω6<I>c</I> were the major cellular fatty acids. The major polar lipids were phosphatidylethanolamine, two unidentified aminolipids and one unidentified lipid. The DNA G<I>+</I>C content was 30.0 mol%. Based on data from our polyphasic study, the organism is considered to represent a novel species of the genus <I>Polaribacter</I>, for which we propose the name <I>Polaribacter sejongensis</I> sp. nov. The type strain is KOPRI 21160<SUP>T</SUP> ( = KCTC 23670<SUP>T</SUP> = JCM 18092<SUP>T</SUP>). Emended descriptions of the genus <I>Polaribacter</I>, <I>Polaribacter butkevichii</I> Nedashkovskaya <I>et al.</I> 2005 and <I>Polaribacter irgensii</I> Gosink <I>et al.</I> 1998 are also proposed.</P>
Twelve previously unrecorded bacterial species, isolated from the Nakdong River, South Korea

During a survey of indigenous prokaryotic species diversity of the upstream Nakdong River, South Korea, 12 bacterial strains were isolated for further analysis. These bacterial strains were identified showing at least 98.7% 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity with known bacterial species that were previously unreported in South Korea. The 12 bacterial strains were phylogenetically diverse and assigned to four classes, eight orders, nine families, and ten different genera. The isolates were identified as Leucobacter holotrichiae (99.1%), Leucobacter tardus (99.9%), Rhodococcus rhodochrous (99.9%), Tessaracoccus oleiagri (100%), and Paeniglutamicibacter cryotolerans (99.3%), of the class Actinobacteria; Bacillus coagulans (99.7%) and Bacillus wudalianchiensis (99.1%) of the class Bacilli; Ochrobactrum pseudogrignonense (99.2%) and Paracoccus thiocyanatus (100%) of the class Alphaproteobacteria; and Ideonella azotifigens (99.0%), Polaromonas glacialis (99.3%), and Herbaspirillum seropedicae (99.5%) of the class Betaproteobacteria. The cellular and colonial morphology, biochemical properties, and phylogenetic position of these isolates were examined, and species descriptions are provided.

<P>A novel Gram-positive, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium, designated strain RB-62<SUP>T</SUP>, was isolated during a study of culturable bacteria from the gut of <I>Moechotypa diphysis</I> (Pascoe) and its taxonomic position was investigated. Strain RB-62<SUP>T</SUP> grew at 15-30 °C and pH 5.0-8.5. The isoprenoid quinones were menaquinones MK-11 (77.1 %), MK-10 (11.7 %) and MK-12 (11.2 %). The major cellular fatty acids were anteiso-C15 : 0 (34.6 %), anteiso-C17 : 0 (29.8 %), iso-C16 : 0 (17.0 %) and cyclohexyl-C17 : 0 (11.4 %). The diagnostic diamino acid of the cell-wall peptidoglycan was 2,4-diaminobutyric acid. The G+C content of the genomic DNA of strain RB-62<SUP>T</SUP> was 70.3 mol%. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain RB-62<SUP>T</SUP> was affiliated with the genus <I>Herbiconiux</I> cluster within the family <I>Microbacteriaceae</I>, and was related most closely to <I>Herbiconiux ginsengi</I> wged11<SUP>T</SUP> (98.08 % similarity). The level of DNA-DNA relatedness between strain RB-62<SUP>T</SUP> and <I>H. ginsengi</I> wged11<SUP>T</SUP> was 43.2 % (reciprocal 66.7 %). Phenotypic and phylogenetic characteristics clearly distinguished strain RB-62<SUP>T</SUP> from recognized species of the genus <I>Herbiconiux</I>. Based on data from the present polyphasic study, strain RB-62<SUP>T</SUP> is considered to represent a novel species of the genus <I>Herbiconiux</I>, for which the name <I>Herbiconiux moechotypicola</I> sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is RB-62<SUP>T</SUP> ( = KCTC 19653<SUP>T</SUP> = JCM 16117<SUP>T</SUP>).</P>
Jejuia marina nov., isolated from gravel adjacent to Geommeolle beach on Udo Island, South Korea

<P>A bacterial strain, JH03(T), was isolated from gravel adjacent to Geommeolle beach on Udo Island, South Korea. The cells were Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, non-motile and rod shaped. The ranges of temperature, pH and NaCl concentration for growth of the bacterium were 10-45??°C, pH 6.0-9.5 and 0.5-5.0??% (w/v), respectively. The major fatty acids of the bacterium were iso-C15:0 (15.4??%), iso-C15:1 G (14.1??%), iso-C16:0 3-OH (14.1??%), iso-C17:0 3-OH (11.5??%) and anteiso-C15:0 (11.3??%). The major isoprenoid quinone was MK-6. The polar lipids included phosphatidylethanolamine, two unidentified amino lipids and three unidentified lipids. The DNA G+C content was 34.2??mol%. The phylogenetic analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain JH03(T) was most closely related to Jejuia pallidilutea EM39(T) (96.5??% sequence similarity). Based on the polyphasic analysis, strain JH03(T) is a novel species of the genus Jejuia, for which the name Jejuia marina sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is JH03(T) (=??KCTC 42342(T)??=??JCM 30601(T)).</P>

<P>A novel strain, designated W-15<SUP>T</SUP>, was isolated from the gut of a long-horned beetle, <I>Massicus raddei</I>, collected in South Korea. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that the strains belonged to the suborder <I>Micrococcineae</I>. Strain W-15<SUP>T</SUP> was most closely related to <I>Luteimicrobium album</I> RI148-Li105<SUP>T</SUP> (97.9 % similarity). Strain W-15<SUP>T</SUP> was Gram-stain-positive, rod- and coccus-shaped and non-motile. Growth was observed at 15–37 °C, at pH 4.5–8.5 and in the presence of 0–5.0 % NaCl. The cell-wall peptidoglycan of the strain was A4α (<SMALL>l</SMALL>-Lys–<SMALL>d</SMALL>-Ser–<SMALL>d</SMALL>-Asp). The major menaquinone present in this strain was MK-8 (H<SUB>2</SUB>) and the major cellular fatty acids were anteiso-C<SUB>15 : 0</SUB>, iso-C<SUB>16 : 0</SUB>, iso-C<SUB>15 : 0</SUB> and anteiso-C<SUB>17 : 0</SUB>. The major polar lipids were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylinositol, an unknown lipid, an unknown phospholipid and an unknown phosphoglycolipid. The G+C content of genomic DNA of the strain was 73.8 mol%. On the basis of evidence from our polyphasic taxonomic study, strain W-15<SUP>T</SUP> is classified as representing a novel species in the suborder <I>Micrococcineae</I>, for which the name <I>Luteimicrobium xylanilyticum</I> sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain of this species is strain W-15<SUP>T</SUP> ( = KCTC 19882<SUP>T</SUP> = JCM 18090<SUP>T</SUP>).</P>

RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) 기술은 RF신호를 사용하여 물품에 부착된 전자태그를 식별하는 비접촉 기술이다. 식별 영역 내에 다수의 태그가 존재할 경우에 요구되는 다중 태그식별 문제는 RFID 기술의 핵심이며 이 문제는 트리 기반 충돌 방지 알고리즘을 통하여 해결할 수 있다. 하지만 RF신호를 사용함으로써 발생하는 사용자의 프라이버시 및 정보 유출의 문제는 현재 RFID 기술의 가장 큰 단점으로 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존에 제안된 트리 기반충돌 방지 알고리즘인 Tree-walking 알고리즘, Query Tree 알고리즘, Advanced Query Tree알고리즘의 보안 견고성에 대하여 살펴본다.
