North Korean Cyber Terrorism: Past and Future

With the success of hydrogen bomb and intercontinental ballistic missile tests by North Korea, international peace and security are continuously being threatened. Not only conventional battlefield, but also cyber domain has been exploited by North Korea as the weapon to hold asymmetric superiority over the adversaries. Cyber terrorism, which is expected to cause severe damage to property and injury or death to human, is one of the primary security threats in the international community. Therefore, this article highlights North Korean cyber terrorism by defining cyber terrorism and classifying it by characteristic. Based on the analysis of cyber terrorism in the past, it explores the possibilities of cyber terrorism in the future.

본 연구는 영어 조건문에 대한 한국인 학습자의 개념화를 살펴보기 위해, 학습자 코퍼스와 설문지 조사법의 연구 결과를 분석하였다. 학습자 코퍼스는 가천코퍼스를 사용하였으며, 설문은 국내의 한 대학의 신입생 53명을 대상으로 시행되었다. 코퍼스 연구 결과, 학습자들은 조건문 사실 현재와 사실 미래를 가장 많이 올바르게 사용하고 있었다. 그러나 비현실 과거는 사용 빈도가 높은 반면 오류율이 65.49%로 높았으며, 반사실 과거완료는 매우 낮은 사용 빈도를 보였다. 설문지 분석 결과, 반사실 과거완료는 예상과 달리, 이해도가 가장 높은 조건문이었으며, 산출에서는 많은 오류를 보였다. 또한 비현실 과거에서는 이해와 산출 모두에서 오류 빈도가 높았다. 본 연구를 통해, 영어 조건문의 주요 문제는 비현실 과거의 ‘if 절’의 ‘과거’동사 사용과 주절의 ‘would’ 사용의 습득 문제라는 것이 제안되어졌으며, 조건문의 습득에서 이해와 산출은 다르다는 것이 또한 제안되어졌다. This study attempted to figure out Korean English learners’ conceptualization on English conditional sentences by analyzing learner’s corpus and questionnaire survey. Gachon Corpus was researched and survey toward fifty-three freshmen at a university of Korea was conducted. The result of the corpus study suggested that real present and real future were widely and correctly used. However, unreal past was much used with many errors and the rate of errors was 65.49%. Counterfactual past perfect showed very few uses. The result of the survey showed that counterfactual past perfect was the most correctly understood type of conditional sentences, contrary to expectation. The type, however, showed many errors in production. Unreal past represented many errors in understanding and production. Through the study, it was suggested that the main issue of acquiring conditional sentences should be the use of the past tense verb in if clause and would in the main clause. Futhermore, in terms of learning conditional sentences, it was also suggested that understanding and production should be separated.
안드로이드 악성 앱 탐지율 향상을 위한 특성 분석 및 기계학습 모델에 관한 연구

안드로이드 모바일 환경에서 사용되는 애플리케이션은 사용자에게 여러 권한을 요구하며, 특정한 기능을 수행한다. 공격자는 정상적인 애플리케이션으로 가장한 악성 애플리케이션을 사용자가 다운로드 하도록 유도하여 금융정보 및 개인정보를 탈취할 수 있다. 기존의 모바일 백신은 시그니처(signature) 기반의 악성 애플리케이션 탐지 방법을 사용하기 때문에 정상 애플리케이션으로 가장한 악성 애플리케이션의 탐지가 어려운 측면이 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 안드로이드 악성애플리케이션 탐지율 향상을 위한 특성(feature)을 연구 및 분석하고, 여러 기계학습 모델을 적용하여 최종적으로는 기존의 모바일 백신으로는 탐지가 어려운 악성 애플리케이션까지 탐지가 가능한 기계학습 모델을 제안하였다.

<P>Precise control of the oxidation state of transition-metal oxides, such as copper, is important for high selectivity of CO<SUB>2</SUB> reduction in an aqueous condition to compete with the reduction of water. The phase of copper oxide nanofibers was controlled by predictive synthesis, which controls the nanoscale gas-solid reaction by considering thermodynamics and kinetics. The driving force of the phase transformation between the different oxidation states of copper oxide is calculated by comparing the Gibbs free energy of each of the oxidation states. From the calculation, the kinetically processable window for the fabrication of Cu<SUB>2</SUB>O in which monophase Cu<SUB>2</SUB>O can be fabricated in a reasonable reaction time scale is discovered. Herein, we report the monophase Cu<SUB>2</SUB>O nanofiber photocathode, which photoelectrochemically converted CO<SUB>2</SUB> into methanol with over 90% selectivity in an aqueous electrolyte, and a hierarchical structure is developed to optimize the photoactivity and stability of the electrode. Our work suggests a rational design of the calcination strategy for precisely controlling the oxidation states of transition metals that can be applied to various applications in which the phase of the materials plays an important role.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

<P>ZnO-nanowire-based logic circuits were constructed by the vertical integration of multilayered field-effect transistors (FETs) on plastic substrates. ZnO nanowires with an average diameter of -100 nm were synthesized by thermal chemical vapor deposition for use as the channel material in FETs. The ZnO-based FETs exhibited a high I(ON)/I(OFF) of > 10(6), with the characteristic of n-type depletion modes. For vertically integrated logic circuits, three multilayer FETs were sequentially prepared. The stacked FETs were connected in series via electrodes, and C-PVPs were used for the layer-isolation material. The NOT and NAND gates exhibited large logic-swing values of -93%. These results demonstrate the feasibility of three dimensional flexible logic circuits.</P>

Objective Uric acid is a non-enzymatic antioxidant associated with depression. Despite its known protective role in other brain disorders, little is known about its influence on the structural characteristics of brains of patients with major depressive disorder (MDD). This study explored the association between uric acid and characteristics of white matter (WM) in patients with MDD. Methods A total of 32 patients with MDD and 23 healthy controls (HCs) were examined. All participants were scored based on the Beck Depression Inventory and Beck Anxiety Inventory at baseline. All patients were also rated with the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale. We collected blood samples from all participants immediately after their enrollment and before the initiation of antidepressants in case of patients. Tract-based spatial statistics were used for all imaging analyses. Results Lower fractional anisotropy (FA) and higher radial diffusivity (RD) values were found in the MDD group than in the HC group. Voxelwise correlation analysis revealed that the serum uric acid levels positively correlated with the FA and negatively with the RD in WM regions that previously showed significant group differences in the MDD group. The correlated areas were located in the left anterior corona radiata, left frontal lobe WM, and left anterior cingulate cortex WM. Conclusion The present study suggests a significant association between altered WM connectivity and serum uric acid levels in patients with MDD, possibly through demyelination.
Automatic Speech Database Verification Method Based on Confidence Measure

In this paper, we propose the automatic speech database verification method(or called automatic verification) based on confidence measure for a large speech database. This method verifies the consistency between given transcription and speech using the confidence measure. The automatic verification process consists of two stages : the word-level likelihood computation stage and multi-level likelihood ratio computation stage. In the word-level likelihood computation stage, we calculate the word-level likelihood using the viterbi decoding algorithm and make the segment information. In the multi-level likelihood ratio computation stage, we calculate the word-level and the phone-level likelihood ratio based on confidence measure with anti-phone model. By automatic verification, we have achieved about 61% error reduction. And also we can reduce the verification time from 1 month in manual to 1-2 days in automatic.
