Due to the rapid prevalence in Lighting Emitting Diodes(LEDs) technology, it has been increasingly used as automotive lighting devices and had a strong effect on its exterior design. Mirror-Mounted Turn Signals(MMTS) composed of LEDs are lighting signal lamps which are combined with high technology and innovative design. This paper studies MMTS along with various experiments regarding photometric characteristics, geometric visibility and cognitive characteristics. Experimental results are compared to those of MMTS and conventional auxiliary turn signals. As results of the study, MMTS were evaluated to be better stylish and cognitive than conventional auxiliary turn signals. This study is expected to be used as database for revision of Korea Motor Vehicle Safety Standard(KMVSS).
자동차 전조등용 비규격 전구의 문제점에 관한 실험적 연구

These days non-standard bulbs such as coated bulbs with white-blue color, high power consumed bulbs and HID(High intensity discharge) bulbs were widely sold in the market. Non-standard bulbs are short of standard of automotive bulbs and can be caused glare to oncoming drivers and pedestrians. In this study, three kinds(100/90W, 130/125W, HID)of non-standard bulbs were used in this experiment. Photometric characteristics of non-standard bulbs are investigated using photometric measuring equipment. In addition, fuel consumption rate was predicted from experimental data of reference. Temperature of the inside of headlamp was measured using thermometer. The experimental results were compared with those of standard halogen bulb(60/55W). Consequently, photometric performances of non-standard bulbs were much inferior to standard halogen bulbs.
고속 직렬 인터페이스 커넥터의 설계 및 분석에 대한 연구

본 논문에서는 12.5 Gbps의 전송 속도를 갖는 고속 직렬 인터페이스 커넥터(high-speed serial interface connector)의 설계 및 분석 방법을 제안한다. 고속 직렬 인터페이스 커넥터는 다양한 매질로 구성되며, 내부 선로도 복잡한 구조를 가지고 있으므로, 선로의 불연속 부분의 각각을 임피던스 정합하기가 매우 어렵다. 따라서 커넥터의 각 부분을 단순화한 커넥터라인(connector line)의 구조를 제안하였으며, 이 구조에서 R, L , C, G 파라미터를 추출하고 차동 모드 임피던스를 분석하며, TDT(Time Domain Transmissometry)와 TDR(Time Domain Reflectometry)을 이용하여 임피던스 불연속(impedance discontinuity)을 최소화 하는 방법을 제시한다. 본 논문은 단순화한 커넥터 라인에서 추출된 분석 방법 및 결과를 고속 직렬 인터페이스 커넥터에 적용하였다. 제안한 커넥터는 총 44개의 핀(pin)으로 구성되며, 본 논문에서는 4개의 핀의 폭과 간격을 변경하여 신호 전달 특성을 분석하였다. 분석결과, 접지 핀의 폭이 증가할수록 임피던스는 소폭으로 감소하고, 접지핀과 신호 핀 사이의 간격이 증가할수록 임피던스가 증가했다. 또한, 신호 핀의 폭을 증가시키면 임피던스가 감소하며, 신호 핀과 신호 핀 사이의 간격을 늘리면 임피던스가 증가하였다. 최초 커넥터 임피던스 특성은 96~139 Ω 사이에서 변화되는 값을 나타내었으나, 제안된 커넥터 구조를 적용했을 때 임피던스 특성은 92.6~107.5 Ω 사이의 값으로 나타나, 설계 목표 100Ω. ± 10%를 만족함을 보였다. This paper presents method of design and analysis of a high-speed serial interface connector with a data rate of 12.5 Gbps. A high-speed serial interface connector is composed of various material and complex structures. It is very difficult to match the impedance of each discontinuous portion of connector. Therefore, this paper proposes the structure of a connector line that be simplified a connector. In the structure of proposed connector line, this research presents a method for extracting R, L, Cand G parameters, analyzing the differential mode impedance, and minimizing the impedance discontinuity using time domain transmissometry and time domain reflectometry. This paper applies the proposed methods in the connector line to the high-speed serial interface connector. The proposed high-speed serial interface connector, which consists of forty-four pins, is analyzed signal transmission characteristics by changing the width and spacing of the four pins. According to the analysis result, as the width of the ground pin increases, the impedance decreases slightly. And as the distance between the ground pin and the signal pin increases, the impedance increases. In addition, as the width of the signal pin increases, the impedance decreases. And as the distance between the signal pin and the signal pin increases, the impedance decreases. The impedance characteristic of initial connector presents ranges from 96 to 139 Ω. Impedance characteristic after applying the structure of proposed connector is shown as a value between 92.6 to 107.5 Ω. This value satisfies the design objective 100Ω± 10%.
도로곡률에 따른 AFLS 전조등 최적 회전각도에 관한 연구

Headlamps are important safety components in ensuring good forward visibility and informing oncoming vehicles of their own presence at night. Lots of new technology were applied in headlamps. AFLS(Adaptive Front Lighting System) means a lighting device, providing beams with differing characteristics for automatic adaptation to varying conditions of use of the dipped-beam and main-beam. In this paper, Optimum swivel angle of AFLS headlamp were investigated using two kinds of prototypes of head lamp. Visibility of AFLS headlamp was evaluated using the eye mark camera in various road conditions such as highway and national road. As a result, optimum swivel angel of AFLS head lamp was 19° considering a variety of road curvature and No glare swivel angle was 24°. AFLS head lamps were very useful to improve visibility during driving at night.
