        Preparation and Photoelectric Properties of Silver Nanowire/ZnO Thin Film Ultraviolet Detector

        Ultraviolet (UV) detectors have important applications in many fi elds. ZnO is an excellent semiconductor material for the preparation of UV detectors because of its large direct gap in forbidden bandwidth, its intrinsic response band in the UV region, and its high exciton binding energy. In this paper, high-performance ZnO thin fi lms with the optically advantageous nonpolar structure were prepared by using an atomic layer deposition, and the dominant crystal plane gradually changes from the amorphous phase to the (100) crystal plane. The conventional photoconductor structure ZnO UV detector was enhanced by the surface plasmon exciton eff ect of Ag nanostructure. When the operating voltage is 5 V and the response light is 350 nm, there is a maximum optical responsiveness of up to 131 A/W. The UV/visible rejection ratio can reach 1824 times. When the ZnO thin fi lm deposition thickness is 400 deposition cycles and about 72 nm, the ZnO thin fi lm UV detector obtains the highest responsiveness (5 V, 365 nm) of 365 A/W. Comparing the photovoltaic performance of the ZnO thin-fi lm detector with the enhanced ZnO thin-fi lm detector and its optimal response wavelength, it is found that the enhanced ZnO thin-fi lm detector increased the photoresponse value by about 100 times. The optimal response wavelength in the UV region is blueshifted, and the UV-visible rejection ratio and optical response rate are signifi cantly improved.

        Short-Term Holiday Travel Demand Prediction for Urban Tour Transportation: A Combined Model Based on STC-LSTM Deep Learning Approach

        Short-term prediction of holiday travel demand is a complex but key issue to the planning and management of tour transportation system in big cities. This paper develops an improved spatial and temporal correlation long short-term memory model (STC-LSTM) to forecast short-term holiday travel demand based on deep learning approach. Analysis results show six kinds of tourist flow correlations appears in different sets of tourist attractions, and 27.94 percent of the tourist attractions have mid- or high- positive tourist flow correlation with others, meaning that a positive synchronization mechanism exists between suburban tourist attractions in Beijing. The proposed model predicts the holiday travel demand on the basis of the historical data of the spatial and temporal related tourist flows, and the auxiliary data including meteorological data, temporal data, and Internet search index. Based on actual case study with tourist flow data of the suburban tourist attraction in Beijing, the proposed STC-LSTM is carried out to compared with other conventional prediction approaches. Results show that the proposed approach can improve the prediction accuracy and well capture the different spatial and temporal correlations of tourist flows.

        Exploring Resident’s Daily Activity-Travel Behavior: Activity Pattern, Duration and Competition

        This paper aims to deeply analyze the regularity of residents' daily activity-travel behaviors to help traffic management departments predict travel demand and evaluate transportation policies. Taking time use data in American as empirical analysis, the influencing factors such as residents’ activity pattern, duration and competition were discussed and analyzed based on the competing risk model. Results can be concluded that: a) people feel happy and meaningful during most of the activities, while they feel sad or pain in relatively rare occasions; b) there is no significant difference between young people and the elderly as for the total number of activities during one day; c) estimation results show that personal, household and activity characteristics have significant influence on activity duration and pattern, and the pattern of last activity (N) has a great influence on the occurrence of next activity (N+1); d) the competition between residents' daily activities is confirmed based on the competing risk model, and travel is closely related to various activities and can be seen as the derived demand of various activities. In all combinations of activity-travel chain schedule, personal - household (30.0%), household - recreation (25.9%), work - travel (45.2%), purchase - travel (33.7%), recreation - travel (22.5%), volunteer - travel (55.3%) and travel - purchase (28.4%) have the highest proportion respectively.

        Effects of maternal dietary energy restriction on breast muscle fibre development in the offspring of broiler breeders

        Objective: The effects of maternal dietary energy levels on breast muscle fibre development in offspring of broiler breeders were investigated. Methods: A total of 480 20-week-old Arbor Acres (AA) healthy female broiler breeders, with an average body weight of 2.33±0.01 kg, were randomly divided into 4 treatment groups with 6 replicates and 20 broiler breeders for each replicate and fed a corn and soybean meal diet with 100%, 80%, 70%, and 50% energy levels, respectively. Approximately 300 eggs per treatment were collected for incubation for 6 days. Then, 120 0-day-old female broilers at each energy level were randomly selected and divided into 6 replicates with 20 broilers for each replicate, with this experimental phase with the offspring lasting for 49 days. Results: Compared with the 100% energy group, the breast muscle fibre diameter at embryonic day 21 in the 80% energy group was significantly reduced (p<0.05). In the 80% energy group, the muscle fibre density of the breast increased significantly (p<0.05) at embryonic days 15 and 21. The breast muscle fibre diameter of the offspring in each group was significantly decreased (p<0.05) on the 1st day. The breast muscle sarcomere length of the embryos in the 80% energy group was significantly higher (p<0.05) than those in the 70% and 50% energy groups. Compared with the 100% energy group, the expression of the myostatin gene in the offspring was significantly decreased (p<0.05). Conclusion: In conclusion, the effects of a maternal dietary energy level of 80% in this study were found to be optimal for breast muscle fibre development in offspring, which indicated that the metabolic energy level of AA broilers of 9.36 MJ/kg for the mid-term diet for laying eggs has a more practical significance.

        Mechanical Behavior of Reinforced Embankment with Different Recycling Waste Fillers

        The application of construction and demolition (C&D) waste and used tires in geotechnical engineering contributes to the demand of the sustainable development. This study mainly compared the mechanical behavior of pure sand embankment (PSE), C&D material embankment (CDME), sand-tire shreds mixture embankment (STSME) through a scale model test. Effects of tire shreds content, the first layer geocell reinforcement burial depth, geocell reinforcement depth and compaction degree on the bearing capacity of embankments were investigated. Moreover, embankment load-settlement ratio, the reinforced bearing capacity ratio, the bearing capacity improvement factor (IF), the embankment surface deformation, and the vertical earth pressure distribution inside the embankment were discussed. Results indicate that both C&D material fillers and sand-tire shreds mixture can improve the bearing capacity and stability of embankment slopes. However, C&D material is better than sand-tire shreds mixture in the improvement. The optimum value of tire shreds content is 5%. The reinforcement effect of geocell decreases with the increase of reinforcement depth. With the increase of the buried depth of the first layer, it first increases and then decreases. With the increase of compaction degree increases. The minimum earth pressure appears near the slope. The bearing capacity of CDME is greater than STSME. The ultimate bearing capacity of CDME under the action of the geocell is twice that of the unreinforced embankment.

        A Sphere Filling Algorithm for Irregular Aggregate Particle Generation based on Nonlinear Optimization Method

        The angularity of particles has important effects on the mechanical properties of asphalt mixture and other granular materials. To simulate these effects, the glue-sphere method was usually used to create an arbitrary polyhedron particle. Unlike other studies, this paper aims to efficiently fill a polyhedron with as few spheres as possible through optimization technology in order to reduce the cost of calculation during mixture simulation. Four contents are mainly discussed here: a) how to produce non-spherical aggregates and control their sizes with the minimal bounding box; b) how to fill convex non-spherical particles with the fewest balls as possible using the constrained nonlinear optimization method; c) how to compute the typical shape factors of these particles; and d) how the control parameters affect the filling effect. The algorithm for this study was programmed by MATLAB software and was proven to have better filling performance and less computational cost compared to other methods.

        Combinatorial Methylerythritol Phosphate Pathway Engineering and Process Optimization for Increased Menaquinone-7 Synthesis in Bacillus subtilis

        Vitamin K2 (menaquinone) is an essential vitamin existing in the daily diet, and menaquinone-7 (MK- 7) is an important form of it. In a recent work, we engineered the synthesis modules of MK-7 in Bacillus subtilis, and the strain BS20 could produce 360 mg/l MK-7 in shake flasks, while the methylerythritol phosphate (MEP) pathway, which provides the precursor isopentenyl diphosphate for MK-7 synthesis, was not engineered. In this study, we overexpressed five genes of the MEP pathway in BS20 and finally obtained a strain (BS20DFHG) with MK-7 titer of 415 mg/l in shake flasks. Next, we optimized the fermentation process parameters (initial pH, temperature and aeration) in an 8-unit parallel bioreactor system consisting of 300-ml glass vessels. Based on this, we scaled up the MK-7 production by the strain BS20DFHG in a 50-l bioreactor, and the highest MK-7 titer reached 242 mg/l. Here, we show that the engineered strain BS20DFHG may be used for the industrial production of MK-7 in the future.

        This paper proposes an information-entropy-based decision-making method for selecting cloud computing service. Firstly, an evaluation index system (EIS-DMSCS) is developed. Secondly, a decision-making method is constructed. Finally, the application example proves the scientificity, effectiveness and feasibility of this method.

        Safety analysis of nuclear containment vessels subjected to strong earthquakes and subsequent tsunamis

        Nuclear power plants under expansion and under construction in China are mostly located in coastal areas, which means they are at risk of suffering strong earthquakes and subsequent tsunamis. This paper presents a safety analysis for a new reinforced concrete containment vessel in such events. A finite element method-based model was built, verified, and first used to understand the seismic performance of the containment vessel under earthquakes with increased intensities. Then, the model was used to assess the safety performance of the containment vessel subject to an earthquake with peak ground acceleration (PGA) of 0.56g and subsequent tsunamis with increased inundation depths, similar to the 2011 Great East earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Results indicated that the containment vessel reached Limit State I (concrete cracking) and Limit State II (concrete crushing) when the PGAs were in a range of 0.8-1.1g and 1.2-1.7g, respectively. The containment vessel reached Limit State I with a tsunami inundation depth of 10 m after suffering an earthquake with a PGA of 0.56g. A site-specific hazard assessment was conducted to consider the likelihood of tsunami sources.

      • An Interference Suppression Method in Wireless Network of C-RAN Architecture

        The channel sharing in wireless networks leads to user mutual interference, which also exists in the centralized, cooperative, cloud, and clean-radio access network (C-RAN) which is considered as the access architecture of the 5G mobile communication system. In this paper, the problem of uplink interference suppression in the architecture of C-RAN wireless network was investigated. Taking advantage of the centralized processing in the C-RAN architecture, the correlations of the signals from each RRU are analyzed, based on which we proved that under certain condition, interference can be eliminated by utilizing the correlations among signals. According to the theory before, interference matrix between network users was established based on signals from each user to its nearby RRU. Then, the interference cancellation matrix can be gotten. The uplink signals in the network were processed by making use of the interference cancellation matrix, which can turn the interference part caused by the transmit signal of mobile terminal into useful signal.
