Determination of the minimum population size is an important component for the ex situ conservation of an endangered species. Here, we present the identification of collection strategies that most efficiently captured the genetic diversity of Brasenia schreberi J.F. Gmelin (water-shield) in natural populations from the mainland (MGC) and Jeju Island (JNS) of South Korea, using amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) markers. A total of 313 and 383 polymorphic bands were detected in the MGC and JNS populations, respectively. All of the 140 sampled ramets were distinguishable by the presence of distinct AFLP phenotypes. According to the simulation of the individual sampling by maximization sampling, 25 and 28 individuals captured all of the genetic diversity in the MGC population (mainland of South Korea) and the JNS population (Jeju Island), respectively. The level of genetic diversity of the core collections was similar to the entire collection, indicating that the core collections very well represent the diversity of the entire collection. We therefore suggest a management unit of B. schreberi based on the genetic information for assessing the minimum population size for its ex situ conservation.
Backward Path를 포함한 신경망 구조의 한글 음소분할에의 응용

Backward Path를 포함하는 Neocognitron 구조는 문자인식 과정중 selective attention기능을 위하여 제안 되었다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 기존 network구조로부터 정규화된 activation function등을 제안함으로써 종래의 구현상의 난점이었던 각종 매개변수의 설정과정을 단순화 시켰다. 또한 실제 실험을 통하여 이와 같은 이론이 한글 문자인식 과정의 난제인 음소분할 기법으로서 활용될수 있음을 보인다.

오늘의 정보통신 사회에서는 빠르고 편리함을 추구하여 모든 일을 무선으로 통용하기위해 무선시스템 기술이 끊임없이 성장하고 있다. 이는 바로 광대역화를 기반으로 하는 유비쿼터스(ubiquitous) 환경, 즉 언제 어디서나 원격으로 네트워크에 접속하여 이용자들의 편리성을 도모하는 솔루션의 기초가 된다. 본 논문은 USN/RFID모듈을 이용하여 수많은 적용분야들 중에서 보안을 필요로 하는 분야에 활용 가능한 시스템에 관한 연구를 실행한 내용이다. 본 연구를 위해 13.56 ㎒ RFID 리더, Develope S/W 및 Passive RFID-Tag 등을 사용함으로서 리더와 서버 PC와의 통신의 적합성 여부를 통해 태그 인식에 대한 적당한 성능을 확인하였다. It is a basis of an wideband ubiquitous environment which pursuits we can connect to network wherever, whenever, whichever we want. This paper is a study about a security system using USN/RFID modules. We verified the performance of a tag system using RFID reader of 13.56 ㎒, development S/W, passive RFID-tag.
<i>In situ</i> analysis of post-annealing effect on Sn-doped indium oxide films

<P>Oxygen post-annealing effects on tin (Sn) doped indium oxide (ITO) film are investigated with various analytical tools as a function of temperature, including in situ XRD, ambient pressure XPS (AP-XPS), and Hall measurement. As the annealing temperature increases up to 200 degrees C under the oxygen pressure of 100 mTorr, the in situ XRD shows the evidence of crystallization of the film while the AP-XPS reveals the formation of oxygen vacancy and Sn4+ states on surface. In addition, the mobility of ITO thin film is increased as the post-annealing temperature increases, supporting the results of both in situ XRD and AP-XPS. The results of angle-resolved XPS reveal that the degree of Sn segregation changes little after post-annealing procedure. Published by AIP Publishing.</P>
