Static starting device for the start-up of the gas turbine using position sensorless control method

Static starting devices, also called static frequency converters (SFCs), have been utilized to start gas turbines in gas turbine combined cycle (GTCC) power plants, etc. In general, a gas turbine is started using a generator as a synchronous motor with a single-shaft arrangement that is rotated by the electric power fed from the SFC. Because the rotor position signal of the generator is indispensable for controlling the SFC, a mechanical position sensor is installed beside the rotor shaft. However, such mechanical position sensors require considerable time for installation and adjustment at the site. Therefore, a sensorless control method called the advanced position sensor (APS) has been developed and applied to an SFC. In this paper, we describe an SFC that employs this position sensorless control method. Further, we investigate the applicability of the APS by comparing the pulses of the two systems-APS and the traditional position sensor-observed during start-up.

This paper considers the evaluation of several factors in Service Engineering from the view of MONOD-ZUKURI. First of all, the definition of the new trend technical term MONODZUKURI is considered in points of view from the several terms and the industrial site of Japan, and its factors are revealed. Next, by investigating the action ac-complishment of human internal, the difficulties of measuring the usability as the factors of Service Engineering is dis-cussed. Then, the admissible measurement method based on the bio-informatics is presented.

A three-dimensional windshield display (3D-WSD) can present driving information at the same depth as the objects in the outside scene. Herein, a super-multiview 3D-WSD is proposed because the super-multiview display technique provides smooth motion parallax. Motion parallax is the only physiological cue for perceiving the depth of a 3D image displayed at a far distance, which cannot be perceived by vergence and binocular parallax. A prototype system with 36 views was constructed, and the discontinuity of motion parallax and accuracy of depth perception were evaluated.

Endoscopic papillectomy (EP) for ampullary adenomas achieves cure rates ranging from 76% to 90%, and recurrence rates are as high as 33%. If remnant or recurrent lesions after prior EP are endoscopically visible and are not suspected of intraductal extension into the biliary or pancreatic duct, repeated snaring and cutting can be performed until all visible lesions are completely resected. However, endoscopic ablative therapies, particularly argon plasma coagulation, can be attempted for tiny or uncertain remnant and recurrent lesions. In addition, intraductal radiofrequency ablation has recently been attempted for residual intraductal lesions after EP at several institutions. Although still under investigation, it has shown some promise. It might be offered as an alternative to surgery, particularly in patients who are unfit for surgery or those who refuse to undergo surgery
