A Rational Entry to Cyclic Polymers via Spontaneous and Selective Cyclization Reactions
Daisuke Aoki 한국고분자학회 2021 한국고분자학회 학술대회 연구논문 초록집 Vol.46 No.1
Although recent advances in chemistry have made it possible to synthesize polymers with various topologies, effective routes that selectively afford cyclic topology in high yield and quantity still remain limited. This is mostly due to difficulties associated with purification, and, in particular, the selectivity of macrocyclizations. In this work, effective synthetic methods for the cyclic polymers were developed by utilizing supramolecular chemistry1 and dynamic covalent chemistry.2 (1) D. Aoki et al., J. Hydrogen Absorption and Desorption in Ti-Al Alloys
Aoki, K .,Ishikawa, K .,Hashi, K . 대한금속재료학회(대한금속학회) 2001 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.7 No.2
Binary Ti_(1-x)Al_x and ternary Ti_(.075-x)Al_(0.25)M_x (M=V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zr, Nb, Mo, Pd, Hf, Ta and W; x=0.15 and 0.25) alloys reacted slowly with 5.0 ㎫ Hz at room temperature for different periods. The hydrogen absorption capacity, the 50% hydrogen desorption temperature (T_d) and the structures of their hydride were investigated. Amorphous and fcc type hydrides formed by hydrogenation of the binary Ti-Al alloys. As the Al concentration increased in the Ti-Al alloys, the hydrogen absorption capacity decreased, while the hydrogen desorption temperature decreased at once and then increased again. Amorphous, fcc, bcc and C14 Laves type hydrides formed by hydrogenation of the ternary Ti₃Al- based alloys. The hydrogen absorption capacity was reduced despite whatever elements were substituted for Ti in Ti₃Al. Ni, Co, Mn and Nb have the ability to reduce T_d of Ti_(.075-x)Al_(0.25)M_x.
The Concept of the 'Launching State' Revisited
Aoki, Setsuko 한국항공우주법학회 2002 한국항공우주정책·법학회지 Vol.15 No.-
Commercialization and privatization of outer space has been developing to the extent that public space law regime established at the UN seems to be somewhat incompatible with the today's commercial launching services. Thus, this paper analyzes, at first, the UN space treaties to specify the obstacles for promoting commercial use. The necessity of some covert amendment of UN treaties is suggested through the national space legislation. Then three state practices are examined to propose a new concept of the "launching state" including the Sea Launch project, since the concept of the "launching state" is of the major importance to enact an effective national act to better accommodate UN space treaties to the present necessity.

We have studied 80 events of candidates for ??? capture star at rest in nuclear emulsion, where ??? hyperons are produced in (??????) reactions identified by a ?? spectrometer. The weak decay of heavy double hypernuclei is confirmed, studying the distribution of visible energy-release and the probability of emission of two fast protons, in comparison with those for single hypernuclei.
Generation of monoclonal antibodies specific for ORF68 of koi herpesvirus
Aoki, T.,Takano, T.,Unajak, S.,Takagi, M.,Kim, Y.R.,Park, S.B.,Kondo, H.,Hirono, I.,Saito-Taki, T.,Hikima, J.i.,Jung, T.S. Pergamon Press 2011 Comparative immunology, microbiology and infectiou Vol.34 No.3
Outbreaks of koi herpesvirus (KHV) infection in carp are still a serious problem worldwide. KHV is closely related to other two cyprinid herpesviruses, pox herpesvirus (CHV) and haematopoietic necrosis herpesvirus (CyHV-2) in goldfish. In this study, two major KHV antigenic proteins (ORF62 and ORF68) were identified by immunoscreening using a KHV-specific polyclonal antibody, and then monoclonal antibodies were generated for immunodiagnostic studies. After screening hybridoma cells, one mAb against ORF68 (mAb-7C6) was obtained but no mAbs against ORF62. mAb-7C6 specifically reacted with a lysate of KHV-infected koi fin cells (KF-1 cells) but not with lysates of CHV- or CyHV-2-infected KF-1 cells in an immuno-blotting analysis. Similar results were shown in the following tests: (1) a indirect fluorescent antibody test using infected KF-1 cells and (2) an immunohistochemical investigation by fast red stain (infected liver) or FITC detection (infected spleen). These results suggested that mAb-7C6 specifically reacts with KHV ORF68 protein.

Barium titanate ($BaTiO_3$) nanoparticle is one of the most promising materials for future multi-layer ceramic capacitor and ferroelectric random access memory. It is well known that electrical property of nanoparticles depends on the atomistic structure. Although surface may possibly have an impact on the atomistic structure, reconstructed structure at the surface has not been widely investigated. In the present study, Ba-ion position near surface in a $BaTiO_3$ nanoparticle has been quantitatively characterized by scanning transmission electron microscopy. It was found that some Ba ions at the surface were greatly displaced in non-uniform directions.

We have studied stars in nuclear emulsion due to the capture at rest of the ??? hyperons produced in the(???) reaction. The sequential weak decay of a double hypernucleus(nucleus with S= -2) has been directly observed. The double hypernucleus is assigned as either ???? or ????. This assignment excludes the existence of the H dibaryon lighter than 2203.7±0.7 MeV/c².
Structural identification and seismic performance of brick chimneys, Tokoname, Japan
Aoki, T.,Sabia, D. Techno-Press 2005 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.21 No.5
Dynamic and static analyses of existing structures are very important to obtain reliable information relating to actual structural properties. For this purpose a series of material test, dynamic test and static collapse test of the existing two brick chimneys, in Tokoname, are carried out. From the material tests, Young's modulus and compressive strength of the brick used for these chimneys are estimated to be 3200 MPa and 7.5 MPa, respectively. The results of static collapse test of the existing two brick chimneys are discussed in this paper and composed with the results from FEA (Finite Element analysis). From the results of dynamic tests, the fundamental frequencies of Howa and Iwata brick chimneys are estimated to be about 2.69 Hz and 2.93 Hz, respectively. Their natural modes are identified by ARMAV (Autoregressive Moving Average Vectors) model. On the basis of the static and dynamic experimental tests, a numerical model has been prepared. According to the European code (Eurocode n. 8: "Design of structures for earthquake resistance") non-linear static (Pushover) analysis of the two chimneys is carried out and they seem to be vulnerable to earthquakes with 0.25 to 0.35 g.

Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), is generally diagnosed by reverse transcription (RT)-PCR or serological assays. The SARS-CoV-2 viral load decreases a few days after symptom onset. Thus, the RT-PCR sensitivity peaks at three days after symptom onset (approximately 80%). We evaluated the performance of the ARCHITECT® SARS-CoV-2 IgG assay (henceforth termed IgG assay; Abbott Laboratories, Lake County, IL, USA), and the combination of RT-PCR and the IgG assay for COVID-19 diagnosis. Methods: In this retrospective study, 206 samples from 70 COVID-19 cases at two hospitals in Tokyo that were positive using RT-PCR were used to analyze the diagnostic sensitivity. RT-PCR-negative (N=166), COVID-19-unrelated (N=418), and Japanese Red Cross Society (N=100) samples were used to evaluate specificity. Results: Sensitivity increased daily after symptom onset and exceeded 84.4% after 10 days. Specificity ranged from 98.2% to 100% for samples from the three case groups. Seroconversion was confirmed from 9 to 20 days after symptom onset in 18 out of 32 COVID-19 cases with multiple samples and from another case with a positive result in the IgG assay for the first available sample. Conclusions: The combination of RT-PCR and IgG assay improves the robustness of laboratory diagnostics by compensating for the limitations of each method.
