The objective of this work was to investigate the existence of new crystal forms of tulobuterol which is used to prevent morning asthma attacks by ${\beta}_2$ agonist and the transformation of crystal forms. Three crystal forms of tulobuterol have been isolated by recrystallization and Form 2 was transformed to Form 4 at 52% RH and 95% RH and these four crystal forms are characterized by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), powder X-ray diffractometry (PXRD) and thermogravimetric analysis (TG). The DSC and PXRD patterns of four crystal forms of tulobuterol were different respectively. The dissolution patterns of these three crystal forms of tulobuterol were studied and they showed significant differences in the dissolution rate. After storage of 2 months at 0% RH (silica gel, $20^{\circ}C$), 52% RH (saturated solution of $Na_2Cr_2O_7{\cdot}2H_2O/20^{\circ}C$) and 95% RH (saturated solution of $Na_2HPO_4/20^{\circ}C$), Form 1 and Form 3 were not transformed. But Form 2 was transformed to Form 4 at 52% RH and 95% RH.

There have been many studies describing the relationship between angiogenesis and VEGF expression. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the anti-angiogenic effect of neferine on HUVEC and CAM. Methods: The anti-angiogenic effect of neferine was investigated in the proliferation and the CAM assay. Results: In vitro experiment, neferine inhibits the proliferation of vascular endothelial cells on dose- dependent manner (proliferation). In vivo experiment, neferine inhibits the formation of blood vessel on CAM. Conclusion: These results indicate that neferine inhibits the VEGF-mediated tumor angiogenesis in dose-dependent manner.
Sweet-like syndrome induced by bortezomib

Sweet syndrome is characterized by fever, tender, erythematous skin lesions, neutrophilia, high levels of serum inflammatory markers, and diffuse mature neutrophil infiltration typically localized to the upper dermis. Many drugs have been found to be associated with Sweet’s syndrome. Various drugs used in hematology and oncology such as immunomodulating drugs, differentiation-inducing agents, and anti-neoplastic agents have been found to be associated. Bortezomib is a proteasome inhibitor, which was approved in 2008 to treat progressive multiple myeloma. Bortezomib can cause cutaneous side effects such as erythema, pruritus, periorbital edema, eczemas and rarely erythema multiforme-like skin changes or vasculitis. A 65-year old man used bortezomib for multiple myeloma. Using about 3 cycles and the multiple nodular lesion was repeated three times for a period of relief and aggravation of the symptoms. The diagnosis was reported Sweet syndrome by incisional biopsy. Symptoms improved after the bortezomib was discontinued. In conclusion, even though there are not many reports, we have to be aware of the possibility of sweet-like syndrome due to bortezomib.

자동차 번호판 인식 시스템은 영상획득, 번호판 영역 추출, 추출된 번호판 영역의 전처리, 문자부분 영역화, 문자인식 등의 5가지 핵심부분으로 구성된다. 그 중에서도 번호판 영역 추출, 추출된 영역의 전처리, 문자부분 영역화의 정확성은 전체 시스템 인식률에 지대한 영향을 줄 수 있는 부분으로써 그 정확성이 요구된다. 이에 본 논문에서는 컴퓨터 비젼 분야 중의 하나인 영상처리 기법을 사용하여 명암의 변화에도 문자를 잘 추출할 수 있는 Dynamic Adaptive Threshold 방법을 사용하여 추출된 번호판 영역을 이진화하고, 정확하게 문자 부분을 영역화하기 위한 방법으로 누적분포와 번호판 문자배열 특성을 이용한 방법을 제안한다. 그리고 추출되어진 문자는 ART2 신경망을 이용하여 인식한다.

본 논문에서는 스캐너로 입력된 한글 문서 영상에서 한글 문자를 인식하는 방법을 제시한다. 입력된 한글 문자를 한글의 구조적 특징에 따라 6개의 유형으로 분리하고, 각 유형에서의 모음의 형태학적 특징에 근거하여 모음을 인식한다. 각 유형에서의 자음의 인식을 위해서 가중치 패턴 클러스터를 생성하고 생성된 클러스터와 원영상간의 유사도 측정을 통해 자음을 인식하게 된다. 제안하는 알고리즘을 바탕으로 실험한 결과 스캐너로 입력받은 상용 한글 문자 14,983자에 대해 최종 9,68%의 인식률을 보였으며, 차후 정형화된 한글 문서 인식 시스템에 응용될 수 있을 것이다.
Numerical Implementation of Representative Mobile Phone Models for Epidemiological Studies

This paper describes an implementation method and the results of numerical mobile phone models representing real phone models that have been released on the Korean market since 2002. The aim is to estimate the electromagnetic absorption in the human brain for casecontrol studies to investigate health risks related to mobile phone use. Specific absorption rate (SAR) compliance test reports about commercial phone models were collected and classified in terms of elements such as the external body shape, the antenna, and the frequency band. The design criteria of a numerical phone model representing each type of phone group are as follows. The outer dimensions of the phone body are equal to the average dimensions of all commercial models with the same shape. The distance and direction of the maximum SAR from the earpiece and the area above –3 dB of the maximum SAR are fitted to achieve the average obtained by measuring the SAR distributions of the corresponding commercial models in a flat phantom. Spatial peak 1-g SAR values in the cheek and tilt positions against the specific anthropomorphic mannequin phantom agree with average data on all of the same type of commercial models. Second criterion was applied to only a few types of models because not many commercial models were available. The results show that, with the exception of one model, the implemented numerical phone models meet criteria within 30%.

SAR Comparison of SAM Phantom and Anatomical Head Models for a Typical Bar-Type Phone Model

<P>The current IEEE 1528 and IEC 62209-1 standards specify a simplified physical model of the human head to provide conservative measurement procedures of the peak spatial-average specific absorption rate (SAR) of a mobile phone. This means that the evaluated SAR in a specific anthropomorphic mannequin (SAM) head model should be higher than in the heads of a significant majority of users under normal operational conditions. In this paper, the conservativeness of the SAM is investigated by numerically comparing the SAR in the SAM with those in four anatomical head models at different ages for exposure from a typical bar-type mobile phone. A numerical bar-type phone model with an internal antenna at the bottom of the phone body was implemented at 835 and 1850 MHz. This model provides an SAR pattern and levels similar with the commercial bar phones released in Korea. For two standard test positions, spatial peak 1- and 10-g SARs were calculated for both the SAM phantom and anatomical head models. The SARs were also calculated when the antenna is located on top of the phone. The results show that the SAM phantom provides a conservative evaluation for a phone model with the antenna on the top. However, when the antenna is located at the bottom, the hotspot in the SAM occurred farther from the antenna feed point, and, thus, produced lower 1- and 10-g SAR results compared with the anatomical models.</P>
Mobile phone types and SAR characteristics of the human brain

<P>Mobile phones differ in terms of their operating frequency, outer shape, and form and location of the antennae, all of which affect the spatial distributions of their electromagnetic field and the level of electromagnetic absorption in the human head or brain. For this paper, the specific absorption rate (SAR) was calculated for four anatomical head models at different ages using 11 numerical phone models of different shapes and antenna configurations. The 11 models represent phone types accounting for around 86% of the approximately 1400 commercial phone models released into the Korean market since 2002. Seven of the phone models selected have an internal dual-band antenna, and the remaining four possess an external antenna. Each model was intended to generate an average absorption level equivalent to that of the same type of commercial phone model operating at the maximum available output power. The 1 g peak spatial SAR and ipsilateral and contralateral brain-averaged SARs were reported for all 11 phone models. The effects of the phone type, phone position, operating frequency, and age of head models on the brain SAR were comprehensively determined.</P>
