This research is for an innovative health information service cases based on Information Communication Technology (ICT), conducted at a general hospital in Korea. This study introduces a personal use self-diagnosis & self management device for pulmonary chronic disease patients, a mobile communication application service for doctor rounds, a surgical education system providing natural-user-interface with virtual reality for surgeons, and an Internet of things(IOT) technology using personal electrocardiogram (ECG) measurement device cases. Due to every case is on developing, there are still many issues needed to be improved. For this reason, various opinions with constructive critiques from the readers of this paper will be welcomed for better practical implementation.
Usability Tests with a Virtual Arthroscopic Surgery Simulator

Arthroscopic surgery is one of the most difficult surgeries, so even if an orthopedic resident trains a lot, it is difficult to perform surgery well. In addition, a resident does not have many opportunities to perform surgery before becoming a licensed orthopedist. In order to help train residents, we created a virtual arthroscopic surgery simulator. Our goal is to improve the residents’ surgical proficiency in repairing rotator cuff tears and Bankart lesions. We carried out nine usability tests with an orthopedist, and are improving the simulator based on the results.

하드웨어 및 소프트웨어를 포함한 IT 기술은 현재 많은 분야와 융합하면서 발전하고 있다. 의료분야도 예외는 아니어서 의료기기와 의료 플랫폼에 IT 기술이 접목되고 있다. 이러한 추세에 발맞추어 본 논문에서는 미래형 수술실 구현을 위해 IT기술을 접목하여 연구하였다. 수술실에서는 세균감염의 위험 때문에 수술진의 행동에 제약이 따르며 수술도구 외 컴퓨터 시스템의 조작이 제한적이다. 이러한 이유로 PACS((Picture Archiving and Communication System) 운영시 별도의 수행자가 필요하다. 이 과정에서 커뮤니케이션의 문제, 불필요한 인력 낭비가 발생한다. 이러한 단점들을 극복하고자 컴퓨터 키보드와 마우스의 접촉 없이 손동작으로 제어할 수 있는 시스템을 개발하였다. 개발 절차는 손동작 컨텍스트를 정의하였고, 동작 PACS 프로그램을 개발했으며 수술실에서 파일롯 테스트를 진행하였다. 파일롯 테스트도 사용자의 요구사항에 따라 프로그램을 수정하여 1차와 2차테스트로 진행하였다. 파일롯 테스트를 통해 동작PACS 의 유용성을 확인하였다. IT technologies including hardware and software have been developing while converging with various fields. The medical field is no exception, and therefore, IT technologies have been linked with medical equipment and medical platforms. In tandem with this trend, this thesis conducted the research by linking IT technologies to realize future-style operation rooms. In an operation room, the actions of an operation team are limited due to the risk of bacterial infections, and the operation of computer systems other than operation tools is very limited. Due to such reasons, separate operators are needed when operating PACS((Picture Archiving and Communication System). In such process, communication problems and unnecessary waste of manpower occur. To overcome such shortcomings, we developed a system that can be controlled by hand motions without any contact with a computer keyboard and mouse. The development procedures include defining hand motion contexts, developing motion PACS program, and executing the pilot test in an operation room. Pilot tests included the 1st and 2nd sessions by revising the programs in accordance with the requirements of users. Through such pilot tests, the usefulness of motion PACS was confirmed.
