This study evaluates the stability of lycopene in the presence of the prepared nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs) under different environments and food systems and the in vitro and in vivo antioxidant activity of the lycopene nanostructured lipid carriers (Lyco-NLCs) was studied. As observed in the stability experiment, Lyco-NLCs have good storage stability within 30 days. Food additives have little effect on its stability except for metal ions. Compared with free lycopene, Lyco-NLCs showed an improved antioxidant property. In in-vitro experiments, the DPPH radical scavenging rate, hydroxyl radical scavenging capacity, and ferric reducing capacity of Lyco-NLCs increased by 90.47%, 47.43%, and 45.12%, respectively. The animal experiments showed that the activities of catalase in the kidney, superoxide dismutase in the heart, and glutathione peroxidase in the liver increased by 31.48%, 42.50%, and 21.47%, respectively. The content of malondialdehyde in serum decreased by 14.13%. The results have some significance for the practical application of lycopene.
Punching performance of RC slab-column connections with inner steel truss
Shi, Qingxuan,Ma, Ge,Guo, Jiangran,Ma, Chenchen Techno-Press 2022 Advances in concrete construction Vol.14 No.3
As a brittle failure mode, punching-shear failure can be widely found in traditional RC slab-column connections, which may lead to the entire collapse of a flat plate structure. In this paper, a novel RC slab-column connection with inner steel truss was proposed to enhance the punching strength. In the proposed connection, steel trusses, each of which was composed of four steel angles and a series of steel strips, were pre-assembled at the periphery of the column capital and behaved as transverse reinforcements. With the aim of exploring the punching behavior of this novel RC slab-column connection, a static punching test was conducted on two full-scaled RC slab specimens, and the crack patterns, failure modes, load-deflection and load-strain responses were thoroughly analyzed to explore the contribution of the applied inner steel trusses to the overall punching behavior. The test results indicated that all the test specimens suffered the typical punching-shear failure, and the higher punching strength and initial stiffness could be found in the specimen with inner steel trusses. The numerical models of tested specimens were analyzed in ABAQUS. These models were verified by comparing the results of the tests with the results of the analyzes, and subsequently the sensitivity of the punching capacity to different parameters was studied. Based on the test results, a modified critical shear crack theory, which could take the contribution of the steel trusses into account, was put forward to predict the punching strength of this novel RC slab-column connection, and the calculated results agreed well with the test results.
Effect of Lonicera edulis polysaccharide on reducing oral dyeing of lonicera edulis juice

Fluorescence spectroscopy, particle size determination, and potential analysis were exploited to elucidate the effect of Lonicera edulis polysaccharide on polyphenol protein. The results revealed that Lonicera edulis polysaccharides mediated the binding of polyphenols and proteins through competition and formation of ternary complexes and were also able to enhance the stability of the polyphenol-protein complex solution system. A certain electrostatic effect was also present in the process simultaneously. As confirmed by the dyeing test, to improve oral dyeing, the optimum conditions of adding polysaccharide, pectin, and casein were as follows: the dosage of the polysaccharide group was 1.2 mg/mL, coloring time was 100 min, pH value was 4.0. Pectin group added 0.8 mg/mL with coloring time 80 min, pH 5.0. The addition of casein was 1.2 mg/mL; the coloring time was 100 min with pH 5.0. The sample juice substantiated a significant improvement in the dyeing of porcine tongue mucosa. Under the optimal conditions, microscopic observation validates that the mucosal color of the porcine tongue epidermis was closer to that of unstained porcine tongue epidermis, which significantly improved astringency and oral staining. Multi-hop Ad-hoc networks is an important organization way for Internet of Things. Through the simulation and analysis in high data load conditions, it can be seen that packet loss is not mainly caused by the change of data links, but the data collisions in MAC layer. What's more, the data collisions affect the routing constructions in NET layer. Therefore, packet loss is not only related to the routing algorithm, but also closely connected with point-to-point transmission performance in MAC layer. So we proposed a cross-layer scheme between the MAC layer and the NET layer. Through the simulation and analysis, it can be proved that this scheme improves the packet delivery, decreases the end-to-end delay and reduces the routing cost, applies to low speed mobile net-works and high data load scene.
