The Prototypical Determinatives in Egyptian and Chinese Writing

From the perspective of prototype theory in cognitive science this article conducts a comparative study between prototypical determinatives in Egyptian and Chinese writing. A prototypical determinative stands for a prototypical member (or subcategory) of a category, and is hence used to mark words labelling other members. Through comparable examples of prototypical determinatives in Chinese and Egyptian writing, this article analyses the working mechanisms of prototypical determinatives and the cultural factors that influence their usage.

For the regeneration of diesel particulate filters (DPF) using non-thermal plasma (NTP), both cost-effectiveness and regeneration efficiency should be raised. This study compared and contrasted the physicochemical characteristics of carbon black and engine particulate matter (PM). After carbon black was put into the DPF, an experimental setup for the oxidation of PM using NTP was created. The findings showed that carbon black and PM samples had comparable oxidation traits, micro-nanostructures, and C/O elemental ratios. O3, the main active species in NTP, was susceptible to heat breakdown, and the rate of decomposition of O3 increases with increasing temperature. The removal effectiveness of carbon black first improved and subsequently declined with an increase in the NTP injection flow rate during offline DPF regeneration using NTP at room temperature. A relatively high carbon black removal efficiency of 85.1% was achieved at an NTP injection flow rate of 30 L/min.

The paper deals with the degenerate parabolic system with nonlinear boundary flux. By constructing the self-similar supersolution and subsolution, we obtain the critical global existence curve. The critical Fujita curve is conjectured with the aid of some new results.

In this paper, manganese-containing blast furnace slag (MBFS) was used as the main raw material and Cr2O3 was used asthe nucleating agent to prepare MBFS glass-ceramic by melting method. The influence of multiple heavy metal ions on thecrystallization characteristics, physical and chemical properties of glass-ceramic was studied by adding CuO and ZnO, and theexistence of multiple heavy metal ions in glass-ceramic and its curing effect were determined. The results showed that Cr wasthe key element for crystallization of glass-ceramic, which can enable volume crystallization to occur. The glass-ceramics withdiopside as the main crystalline phase had excellent comprehensive physical and chemical properties. The results of TCLPheavy metal leaching experiments also confirmed that spinel crystal wrapped by diopside and glass phase can produce anexcellent solidification effect on multiple heavy metals.

Tailings glass-ceramics doped with different proportion of CeO2 were prepared by conventional melts and controllable crystallization. The effect of CeO2 on the microstructure, element distribution characteristics and fracture toughness of glassceramics was studied in this paper. Significant change in microstructure was not observed with the addition of rare earth oxide, but the phenomenon of element aggregates begins to appear in glass-ceramics and the element enrichment of Si, Al, Na and Ce can be observed in the element aggregates. As a result, the integrity of the glass network structure can be improved and the strength of glass phase contributed to the enhancement of fracture toughness. The doping of 3.0% CeO2 achieved a remarkable improvement on fracture toughness that reached 2.86 MPa*m1/2 with a Vickers hardness of 8.49 GPa.

Ag nanoparticles decorated N-doped carbon black with different Ag content was synthesized via a straightforward method. The catalysts have been conducted in the catalytic hydrogenation of nitrophenols in the presence of sodium borohydride. The results show that Ag4/NCB possesses the highest catalytic activity for the catalytic hydrogenation of p-nitrophenol (p-NP) to p-aminophenol (p-AP). The significant enhancement in catalytic activity can be attributed to the high dispersity and smaller size of Ag nanoparticles, and remarkable synergistic effect of the combination of Ag nanoparticles and N-doped carbon black.
Effect of heat treatment on the crystallization toughening of tailing-derived glass-ceramics

The effect of heat treatment to a parent glass of the composition CaO-MgO-Al2O3-SiO2 (CMAS) on the course ofcrystallization and properties of the Bayan Obo east mine tailing glass-ceramics is examined. The crystallization behavior,phase composition, morphology and structure of glass-ceramics are characterized. The results indicate that the phases formedin the glass-ceramics are augite and the initial nucleation phases are magnetite, which can be proved by differential scanningcalorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning transmission electron microscope (STEM). Heat treatment plays asignificant role in improving the crystallization process, fracture characteristics, modulus and bending strength. All of theseproperties reach a maximum for the fully crystallized glass-ceramic. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and atomic forcemicroscope (AFM) are used to reveal the topography of the fracture surfaces. The intergranular fracture can be observed onthe fracture surface.

Myocardial infarction promotes cardiac remodeling and myocardial fibrosis, thus leading to cardiac dysfunction or heart failure. Peiminine has been regarded as a traditional anti-fibrotic Chinese medicine in pulmonary fibrosis. However, the role of peiminine in myocardial infarction-induced myocardial injury and fibrosis remained elusive. Firstly, rat model of myocardial infarction was established using ligation of the left coronary artery, which were then intraperitoneally injected with 2 or 5 mg/kg peiminine once a day for 4 weeks. Echocardiography and haemodynamic evaluation results showed that peiminine treatment reduced left ventricular end-diastolic pressure, and enhanced maximum rate of increase/decrease of left ventricle pressure (± dP/dt max) and left ventricular systolic pressure, which ameliorate the cardiac function. Secondly, myocardial infarction-induced myocardial injury and infarct size were also attenuated by peiminine. Moreover, peiminine inhibited myocardial infarction-induced increase of interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α production, as well as the myocardial cell apoptosis, in the rats. Thirdly, peiminine also decreased the myocardial fibrosis related protein expression including collagen I and collagen III. Lastly, peiminine reduced the expression of p38 and phosphorylation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 in rat model of myocardial infarction. In conclusion, peiminine has a cardioprotective effect against myocardial infarction-induced myocardial injury and fibrosis, which can be attributed to the inactivation of mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway.
Digital Post-processing Techniques for Time-interleaved ADCs

This paper presents an all-digital post-processing circuit for a high-speed and highprecision time-interleaved ADC (TIADC). By pre-inputting a test signal in the TIADC, channel mismatch errors are estimated and stored, and the stored values are extracted to compensate for errors when the input signal is at a special frequency. The frequency can be detected by a threshold judgement module. This solves the problem of the traditional modulation calibration algorithm, which cannot calibrate the signal at a special frequency. A high-speed low-complexity digital down converter (DDC) circuit with an optional decimation ratio of 1, 2, 4, or 8 times was designed to have different frequency outputs of the TIADC. We applied it to a four-channel 14-bit 360-MHz TIADC system with an input signal fin of 110 MHz. The FPGA verification results show that after calibration and decimation, the spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) and signal-to-noise distortion ratio (SNDR) improve by about 40 dB and 30 dB, respectively.
