Behaviors of Functionally Graded Plates with Shock wave

In the present work, Static behaviors of Functionally Graded (FG) plates under shock wave are presented. It is assumed that the material properties vary as a power form of thickness coordinate variable z. The aerodynamic heating by shock wave induced by the hypersonic flow is calculated according to the angle of attack for the model. The effects of shock wave on the plate are analyzed by employing the equations of oblique shock wave relations. Governing equations are derived by the principle of virtual work and numerical solutions are obtained by using a finite element method. The formulation is based on the first-order shear deformation theory and von-Karman strain-displacement relations to derive governing equations. The Newton-Raphson iterative method applied for solving the nonlinear equations.
