Modulation-Agnostic Spectrum Sensing based on Anomaly detection for Cognitive Radio

This work proposes a Spectrum Sensing (SS) scheme based on a Convolutional Autoencoder (CAE) for application in Cognitive Radio Networks. The channel occupancy is modeled as an anomaly detection problem. The CAE is trained only with noise-signal samples so that any random modulated signal observed in the wireless channel will be regarded as an outlier. The relationship between the detection threshold and the system performance is evaluated. Experiments demonstrate that the SS proposal can identify primary signal presence with better accuracy (high detection and low false alarm rate) than conventional Energy Detection.
Eco-friendly Sandwich Panel Based on Recycled Bottle Caps Core and Natural Fibre Composite Facings

This is the first attempt to combine disposed bottle caps and natural fibres into sandwich panels. A full factorialdesign is performed to identify the effects of the skin type (aluminium or coir fibre reinforced laminates) and bottle cap corepacking (cubic and orthotropic) on the mechanical properties of the proposed panels. The coir fibre composite skin providesmaximum core shear strength, 29 % higher than the aluminium-based panels, in cubic packing, while the flexural modulus isreduced by 45 %. An interlocking effect between the skin and the core is evidenced when coir fibre composites are used. Inaddition, the cubic cell packing increases the specific mechanical properties, even though with a higher density. The resultshighlight a promising association of green components and plastic bottle caps for secondary structural applications.

The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of mobilization of C0-C1 and C7-T1 applied to asymptomatic individuals with reduced upper cervical rotation during the FRT. Design: parallel randomized controlled trial. 48 subjects(38.52 years${\pm}15.13$) with C1-C2 rotation hypomobility in TFR joined the study and were randomized into three groups(C0, C7, control group). FRT in both directions was measured before and after the intervention. C0 intervention consisted of a dorsal translatoric mobilization of C0-C1 in the cervical neutral position. C7 intervention consisted of a ventral cranial translatoric mobilization of C7-T1 in neutral position and the control group maintained a supine position. C0 group experienced a FRT ROM to the restricted side increase of $17.64^{\circ}$(SD=4.55), that was significantly greater (P<0.001) than $5.95^{\circ}$(SD=4.81) of the C7 group and $2.45^{\circ}$(SD=5.05) of the control group. The results showed that a dorsal translatoric mobilization of C0-C1 in neutral position restored the physiological FRT mobility in subjects with C1-C2 hypomobility and experienced statistical significant improvement in FRT as compared to a C7-T1 translatoric mobilization and a control group. The aim of this work is to produce a superparamagnetic core-shell adsorbent material composed ofmagnetite nanoparticles coated with a silica layer and functionalized with betaine for applicationsassociated with the recovery of molybdenum and rhenium anions from highly acidic aqueous solutions. The resulting nanoparticles with a quaternary amine surface were predominantly spherical with averagediameters of 14.3 1.7 nm. Adsorption experiments at pH values of 1-2 confirmed that it was possible touptake molybdate and perrhenate species using this adsorbent nanomaterial, achieving maximumloading capacities of 15 mg/gMNP for Mo and 19 mg/gMNP for Re.

The estimation of tree biomass serves as a parameter of forest productivity; in addition, it is a method to estimate carbon fixation and storage. Studies on total biomass that include the belowground component for the Pinus genus are scarce in Mexico due to the difficulty and high costs for its quantification. In this study, allometric models were fitted to estimate the total biomass of Pinus patula Schiede ex Schltdl. & Cham., from the pine-oak forest of Ixtl an de Juarez, Oaxaca, for which a destructive analysis was made of 25 trees distributed in five diameter classes, classifying the biomass by components (root, stem, branches and foliage). With the component biomass data, different models were fitted by nonlinear regression techniques, using the diameter at breast height (D, cm) and the total height (TH, m) as independent variables. The model with the best fit was an exponential type y ¼ eðb0þb1 ln ðDTHÞÞ : In this study, it was observed that the studied species stores 22.62% of the biomass in the root, 69.61% in the stem, 5.67% in the branches and 2.11%, in the foliage. The models proposed in this study allow the estimation of total biomass and by structural component independently and additively. Its use is recommended in trees of P. patula, in the range of 5 to 25 cm of diameter at breast height, in forests with similar growing conditions.
