High precision machining technology has become one of the important parts in the development of a precision machine. Such a machine requires high speed on a large workspace as well as high precision positioning. For machining systems having a long stroke with ultra precision, a micro stage system with lever mechanism is proposed in this paper. The proposed micro stages are activated by the piezo-actuators with high precision, however, they have severe disadvantage for the travel range that the stroke is limited to a few microns. Because it is not easy to increase the stroke of piezo-actuator, it is very difficult to make an X-Y stage with only piezo-actuators. Therefore, in order to increase it, this paper proposes a lever mechanism for the piezo-actuator stage. In the experiments, we can confirm that the stroke is increased more than three times and it is possible to implement the micro X-Y stage using piezo-actuators.

The paper identifies a severe form of core saturation instability in a DC/AC interaction system. It then seeks solutions to the problem by HVDC control means. This is achieved by a proper design of the Voltage Dependent Current Order Limiter (VDCOL), the Current Regulate. and Timing Pulse generator. Supplementary control loops have also been introduced to result in a satisfactory performance as compared to that obtained one with the use of uncharacteristic harmonic filter on the AC side. All the options have been demonstrated through recovery performance of the DC link in response to both 1-phase and 3-phase 5 cycle faults on both rectifier and inverter commutating buses.

Verification of Hybrid Real Time HVDC Simulator in Cheju-Haenam HVDC System

In this paper a Hybrid Real Time HVDC Simulator fur both operator Training and Researching in the Cheju-Haenam HVDC System is proposed and its performance is studied by means of RTDS (Real Time Digital Simulator), EMTDC (Electro-Magnetic Transients system for DC), PSS/E (Power System Simulator for Engineering), and experienced scenarios. The objective of this paper is to represent the strategy in development for KEPCO's hybrid HVDC simulator for the Cheju-Haenam HVDC system. This simulator consists of two DC stations, DC cables, external digital/analog controllers, monitoring systems and control desk for education, and AC networks. Its suitability for operator's education is tested during startup/shutdown and normal state operations. Dynamic performances of it are also verified.

This paper describes underwater discharge in quality before the arc discharge occurs, the pressure could occur from bubble occurrence and ionization in compliance with steamer where occurs process with underwater acoustic sensor technique about insulation condition of the submarine cable the physical quantity which is important delivers information at the outside namely, converts a discharge signal with acoustic signal as, will be able to apply with the fundamental data for an effective location detection in breakdown point detection of the submarine cable.
