It is well known fact that the location of Railway station has a significant effect on land price. Numerous academic works has conducted to measure the amount of effectiveness of providing public transportation services. This study was conducted to estimate the effects, in terms of land price, by improving railway facilities from Dual track to Quadruple. This study has differences from past studies in two aspects. Firstly, the data is more accurate by mapping whole individual value of land. These procedures are powered by Google API, arcGIS and Python programming. Secondly, the vital methodology of this study applied the Double difference (DID) and Triple difference (DDD) approaches for analyzing influence factors of land price. Distance from station, population density, road ratio and land use type (commercial and residential area) are considered as influence factors. By DDD analysis, this study found that the improvement of urban railway mostly affected commercial areas whereas the effects to residential areas were relatively low.

The aims of this study were to develop strategies and algorithms of calculating food commodity intake suitable for exposure assessment of residual chemicals by using the food intake database of Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES). In this study, apples and their processed food products were chosen as a model food for accurate calculation of food commodity intakes uthrough the recently developed Korea food commodity intake calculation (KFCIC) software. The average daily intakes of total apples in Korea Health Statistics were 29.60 g in 2008, 32.40 g in 2009, 34.30 g in 2010, 28.10 g in 2011, and 24.60 g in 2012. The average daily intakes of apples by KFCIC software was 2.65 g higher than that by Korea Health Statistics. The food intake data in Korea Health Statistics might have less reflected the intake of apples from mixed and processed foods than KFCIC software has. These results can affect outcome of risk assessment for residual chemicals in foods. Therefore, the accurate estimation of the average daily intake of food commodities is very important, and more data for food intakes and recipes have to be applied to improve the quality of data. Nevertheless, this study can contribute to the predictive estimation of exposure to possible residual chemicals and subsequent analysis for their potential risks.
A Method for Improving HEV Motor System Efficiency Considering Battery Voltage Variation

Interior Permanent-magnet Synchronous Motors (IPMSMs) are suitable for Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) due to their high efficiency and torque/power density. Since the torque of a PMSM is determined by the stator currents, stator current control is essential to the torque control. Also, the available torque of a PMSM is dependent on rotational speed and battery voltage (dc-link voltage of the inverter). In this paper, a new current reference generation method is proposed, which can improve the system efficiency with high control accuracy even when the battery voltage varies. The performance of the proposed method is verified by experimental results.

<P>We investigated trends in perioperative chemotherapy use, and determined factors associated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) and adjuvant chemotherapy (AC) use in Korean patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC). We recruited 1,324 patients who had MIBC without nodal invasion or metastases and had undergone radical cystectomies (RC) between 2003 and 2013. The study's cut-off time for AC was three months after surgery, and the study's timespan was divided into three periods based on NAC use, namely, 2003-2005, 2006-2009, and 2010-2013. Complete remission was defined as histologically confirmed T0N0M0 after RC. NAC and AC were administered to 7.3% and 18.1% of the patients, respectively. The median time interval between completing NAC and undergoing RC was 32 days and the mean number of cycles was 3.2. The median time interval between RC and AC was 43 days and the mean number of cycles was 4.1. Gemcitabine and cisplatin were most frequently used in combination for NAC (49.0%) and AC (74.9%). NAC use increased significantly from 4.6% between 2003 and 2005 to 8.4% between 2010 and 2013 (<I>P</I> < 0.05), but AC use did not increase. Only 1.9% of patients received NAC and AC. Complete remission after NAC was achieved in 12 patients (12.5%). Multivariable modeling revealed that an advanced age, the earliest time period analyzed, and clinical tumor stage ≤ cT2 bladder cancer were negatively associated with NAC use (<I>P</I> < 0.05). While NAC use has slowly increased over time, it remains an underutilized therapeutic approach in Korean clinical practice.</P>
Study of the Efficacy Assessment System for Hair Health Related Functional Food

Hair plays a major role in perception within a society. Hair loss affects social and psychologic health for both men and women of all ages. Recent therapeutic approach for hair loss include two different kinds, which are 5α-reductase inhibiting oral Finasteride and Minoxidil for application on the skin as a blood vessel expender. However, long-term use of these drugs caused adverse effects such as dermatitis. Now, the people look for functional food having ability to promote hair health and fewer side effect. As for functional food, hair health means help keep normal hair density, elasticity and shine. To date, research has centered on hair follicle dermal papilla and outer root sheath cells and has indicated that the hair growth effects of candidate substances may be mediated via alterations in several signaling pathways and signature genes in these hair follicle cells. In more integrative evaluations, the hair follicle unit is used as an ex vivo organ culture model to verify the effects of therapeutic candidates. In animal models, the main outcomes used to evaluate the effects of candidate substances are changes in hair follicle growth rates in vitro, anagen induction capabilities, and hair density. For human test, TrichoScan has been used to evaluate the efficacy of the test product for improving hair growth rate, hair density, anagen hair, telogen hair, and the density of vellus and terminal hair. The appearance of hair is compared to its baseline in the global photographic assessment by dermatologists and subject self-assessment questionnaires. This study may provide an overview of cell assays, organs, animal models and human test to facilitate hair health research moving forward by reviewing a series of methods used to evaluate the hair health promoting effects of candidate substances.

Background: Nirmatrelvir-ritonavir is highly effective in preventing severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in high-risk patients with mild-to-moderate severity. However, real-world performance data are limited, and the drug is not so acceptable to the COVID-19 patients at high risk who need it in Korea. Methods: To evaluate the effectiveness of nirmatrelvir-ritonavir, we conducted a propensity score-matched retrospective cohort study on patients with mild-to-moderate COVID-19 at high risk for a severe disease who were hospitalized at four hospitals in South Korea from February 2022 to April 2022. A total of 236 patients in the treatment group (administered nirmatrelvir-ritonavir) and 236 in the matched control group (supportive care only) were analyzed for the primary outcome, i.e., the time to oxygen support-free survival. The secondary outcome was a composite result of disease progression. The reason for not prescribing nirmatrelvir-ritonavir to the indicated patients was also investigated. Results: The treatment group showed significantly longer oxygen support-free survival than the matched control group (adjusted hazard ratio [aHR], 0.07; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.01–0.31; P < 0.001). Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that age (aHR, 1.03; 95% CI, 1.00–1.07), National Early Warning Score-2 at admission (aHR, 1.36; 95% CI, 1.08–1.71), nirmatrelvir-ritonavir treatment, female sex (aHR, 0.37; 95% CI, 0.15–0.88), and time from symptom onset to admission (aHR, 0.67; 95% CI, 0.48–0.95) were significantly associated with oxygen therapy. However, none of the factors were related to the composite outcome. In the unmatched control group, 19.9% of 376 patients had documented explanations for nirmatrelvirritonavir non-prescription, and 44.0% of these were due to contraindication criteria. In the treatment group, 10.9% of patients discontinued the medication primarily because of adverse events (71.4%), with gastrointestinal symptoms being the most common (50.0%). Conclusion: Nirmatrelvir-ritonavir treatment significantly reduced oxygen therapy requirements in high-risk patients with COVID-19 during the omicron variant surge in South Korea. Physicians are encouraged to consider the active use of nirmatrelvir-ritonavir and to be watchful for gastrointestinal symptoms during medication.
