In this paper we give a notion of pairwise functional compactness in bitopological spaces. We characterize this class of spaces in terms of continuous functions and covers. Also, a characterization in terms of multifuncions is stated.

Cross linked polyethylene (XLPE) has been widely used for power cables as an insulation material due to its excellent dielectric and mechanical characteristics. However, XLPE can not be recycled after the lifetime of power cables because of its thermosetting property. In many countries, power cables have been developed and installed actively since 1970. It means that the lifetime of power cables is reaching over 50 years. It is known that the lifetime of power cables is around 50 years. Therefore, many power cables in a power grid installed in 1970s should be replaced with new power cables in order to improve the reliability of a power system. In this replacement, there are many studies to change thermosetting materials, XLPE into thermoplastic materials, polypropylene (PP) which can be recycled. This paper deals with the analysis on the dielectric degradation characteristics of PP according to white rust. White rust may occur in power cables due to curvature and scratch which could be caused by bending stress and friction. Especially bending stress is inevitable because of narrow installation area and process of installation. The dielectric degradation characteristics of PP are analyzed under AC as well as lightning impulse voltage test. It is found that the dielectric degradation characteristics of PP according to white rust is more degraded at lightning impulse voltage test than AC voltage test.
A Study on the Design of the Termination Part for a 23kV Superconducting Cable

In this paper, a study on the design of the termination part for a 23kV superconducting cable is conducted. Also, the design of a spacer is derived in consideration of electrical and mechanical safety factors. In general, the termination part of a superconducting cable is filled with gaseous nitrogen (GN₂) and gaseous sulphur hexafluoride (SF<SUB>6</SUB>), and may have a temperature gradient from cryogenic to room temperature. Therefore, a design considering the dependency of dielectric characteristics on temperature should be conducted. In this study, the criterion of electric field intensity on the creepage discharge characteristics between a solid and gaseous insulation material according to several conditions is derived through dielectric experiments. Also, overall design of the termination part for a 23kV superconducting cable is proposed considering the mechanical as well as electrical safety factors.

현재의 러·일 국경은 확실한 국제적 법적 기반을 가진 역사적 사실이다. 남부 쿠릴열도는 2차 세계대전의 결과로 러시아에 귀속되었고, 그 법적 기반은 연합국간 협정(1946년 2월 11일의 얄타협정, 1945년 7월 26일의 포츠담선언)이다. 얄타회담의 결정에 따르면, 모든 쿠릴열도의 섬들과 사할린 섬들은 ‘영원히’ 소련으로 귀속된다. 영국과 중국이 서명하고, (소련이 나중에 가입한), 미국의 포츠담 선언은 이와 같은 내용을 재확인시켜 주었다. 따라서 러·일 관계는 2차 대전의 결과의 확고함이라는 중요한 원칙에 기초해야만 한다. 2차 대전의 결과의 불가침성(principle of 4he inviolability)이라는 원칙은 전후 국제관계의 기초로서 여전히 남아있다. 결론적으로 러시아는 아시아의 현상유지를 위해 중국, 남한을 포함한 2차 대전의 결과를 번복하지 않으려는 국가들과 동맹을 맺고 있다. 일본에 의해 영유권이 주장되는 타케시마로 불리는 ‘독도’는 한국과 일본간의 긴장관계의 원인이 되었다. 독도는 “한국의 남 쿠릴열도(Korean Southern Kuril islands)”로 불릴 수 있다. 일본의 여러 영토적 주장들, 예를 들면 독도(한국), 쿠릴열도(러시아), 팽호도(Penhuledao)(중국), 파라셀군도(베트남) 등은 일본의 국제법적 의무와 직접적으로 상충된다. 왜냐하면 그것은 샌프란시스코 조약 제2조를 간접적으로 부정하는 것이기 때문이다.
Comparative Assessment of Activities of Promoters in Various Porcine-derived Cells

Genetic modification of the pig of which the gene is relevant to human diseases allows the pig to be used as a source of biomedical animal model. The promoter which could drive efficient expression constitutively or specifically of the interest gene in porcine organs is essentially required to increase versatility of a biomedical porcine model. In this study, we compared different promoters of activities driving efficient expression in different types of porcine cells including primary fibroblasts, kidney-derived PK-15, and primary endothelial cells (EC). To this end, we inserted CMV, EF1-α, CMV/EF1-α, CAG, human and porcine membrane cofactor protein gene promoters(MCP and Mcp), and porcine intercellular adhesion molecule-2 (Icam-2) promoter into pGL3 basic vector. Luciferase assay revealed that CAG promoter led to highest promoter activity in fibroblasts and PK-15 cells. CMV, EF1-α, CMV/EF1-α promoters showed moderate activities for luciferase expression in fibroblasts and PK-15 cells. Interestingly, CMV/EF1-α promoter, in which CMV promoter was linked to the front of EF1-α promoter as an enhancer led to highest luciferase expression in EC. The MCP, Mcp and Icam-2 promoters showed very low level of luciferase expression in three types of cells. Taken together, this study demonstrated that promoter activity in different porcine cells is differently expressed.
The Communist Movement for the Liberation of Korea from the Japanese Yoke of Soviet Koreans

This article is devoted to the struggle of the Soviet Korean-communists (Irkutsk group) for the independence of Korea. The article is intended to describe the contribution of one of the most significant and combative forces of the Korean national liberation movement abroad to its development in Korea. The article shows the role of Soviet Korean-communists as initiators of many decisive events in the Korean struggle against Japanese colonialism, organizers of national communist organizations. The members of the Communist Party of Korea, founded in May 1921 in Irkutsk based on the Korean communist organizations of Siberia and the Far East, were prominent figures of the Comintern. They advocated the urgency of the national liberation, called for an armed struggle against Japanese imperialism, the core and leading force of which was to be the Korean Communist Party.
