Most empirical applications of the OCA approach based on asymmetric shocks have failed to account for the cradibility aspects that play an important role in deciding to join the EMU from the EMS or the EMS-BIS. In this paper, we thackle this peoblem by relying on a regime switching approach that characterizes the position of each economy in its business cycle. Then, using desynchronisation indices based on a non parametric approach, we measure the amplitude and the duration of divergence in the business cycles in order to assess the potential stabilization cost induced by the European economic and monetary union.

Relying on the technique of codependence developed by Gourieroux and Peaucelle [1989, 1993], we propose a new method which, unlike the analysis of Bayoumi and Eichengreen [1992], does not require any arbitrary restrictions. Silicon wafer slicing manufacturing process exhibits several characteristics. They are: (1) the product type is small batch production, (2) saw cutting must be very precise, (3) the process run time is long, and (4) inspecting samples is difficult. Furthermore, the process involves several synchronously occurred multiple quality characteristics, such as thickness(THK), bow and warp, which must be closely monitored and controlled. Synchronously monitoring multiple quality characteristics is more expensive than monitoring a single quality characteristic in the manufacturing process. The sizes of inspected samples in the existing process are difficult to maintain the quality control chart. Grey situation decision method is used to screen the worst quality characteristic from the synchronously occurred multiple quality characteristics to monitor the process. Finally, a case study is presented to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of proposed decision method. The exponential weighted moving average (EWMA) control chart is used to verify that the process quality is more reliable.

<P><B>Überlegenes Kathodenmaterial</B>: Sphärische geordnete mesoporöse Kohlenstoffnanopartikel mit sehr hoher Porosität (Porenvolumen von 2.32 cm<SUP>3</SUP> g<SUP>−1</SUP> bei einer Oberfläche von 2445 m<SUP>2</SUP> g<SUP>−1</SUP>) wurden in einem zweistufigen Abgussprozess hergestellt. Die Nanopartikel wurden als Kathodenmaterial in Li‐S‐Batterien eingesetzt, wo sie hohe reversible Kapazitäten von bis zu 1200 mA h g<SUP>−1</SUP> bei exzellenter Zyklenstabilität zeigten.</P>

<P>Research on homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis is indeed convergent and finds subnanometric particles to be at the heart of catalytically active species. Here, monodisperse gold clusters are deposited from the gas phase onto porous titania generating well-defined model systems and the resulting composite materials exhibit a sharp size-dependency on the number of gold atoms per cluster and exceptionally high-turnovers toward the bromination of 1,4-dimethoxybenzene are observed.
