A Fast Inter-Domain Network-based IP Mobility Scheme for Urban Areas

Alireza Taghizadeh,Tat-Chee Wan,Rahmat Budiarto 한국통신학회 2014 Journal of communications and networks Vol.16 No.6

Latency, an identified element of Internet protocol (IP)mobility protocol execution, can reduce handover performance inmobile networks. Although the performance can be improved byapplying an effective network-based IP mobility scheme in placeof the traditional host-based alternatives, the existing inter-domainextensions of network-based IP mobility continue to suffer froman extended handover latency. This paper proposes a new interdomainnetwork-based IP mobility scheme based on node movementprediction. The proposed scheme accelerates the handoverby preparing the future domain of the mobile node in a proactivemanner. Analytical and simulation-based evaluations confirm improvedperformance of the proposed scheme in terms of handoverlatency and packet loss compared with existing schemes.

A Fuzzy Approach for Measuring Project Performance Based on Relative Preference Relation

        Alireza Ghanbari,Houshang Taghizadeh,Soleyman Iranzadeh 대한산업공학회 2017 Industrial Engineeering & Management Systems Vol.16 No.4

Earned Duration Management (EDM) is the most recent methodology for project management that unlike former techniques, measures project performance using time-based data, In contrast to former techniques. This difference generates more realistic consequences in performance estimation and measurement. The novel approach which has been proposed in this paper aims to measure project performance by applying EDM techniques under uncertain conditions based on fuzzy theory. In this regard, we applied linguistic terms to express activities’ progress and developed EDM metrics to fuzzy performance and estimation indices which are capable of measuring performance under uncertain condition. In order to rank fuzzy numbers, a new method based on relative preference relation has been used, which has been clarified by a real sample case in road construction projects.

      • An Extended Approach based on Genetic Algorithm for Multi-Tenant Data Management

Reyhaneh Kheiri,Alireza Taghizadeh,Elaheh Kheiri,Mostafa Ghobaei Arani 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Software Engineering and Vol.10 No.7

In recent years, the applications of cloud computing technology has been increased significantly. Multi-tenant property of cloud computing allows data sharing between clients. The multi-tenant data management system breaks the cost of hardware, software and professional services among a large number of tenants and thus reduces per-tenant cost. A multi-tenant database system should provide high performance with small storage space and excellent scalability. One major challenge is to reach a database scheme with high-quality. In this paper, we offer a compatible ADAPTED database schema based on genetic algorithms, and compare it with similar schema. Simulation results show that the proposed approach (GA-ADAPT) besides considering criteria of quality of service, provides higher performance comparing the previous ones in terms of selection time of the important features and the average response time to the tenants.

      • An Efficient Approach based on Genetic Algorithm for multi-tenant Resource Allocation in SaaS Applications

Elaheh Kheiri,Mostafa Ghobaei Arani,Reyhaneh Kheiri,Alireza Taghizadeh 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Software Engineering and Vol.10 No.8

In recent years, the use of cloud services has been significantly expanded. The providers of software as a service employ multi-tenant architectures to deliver services to their users. In these multi-tenant applications the resource allocation would suffer from over-utilization or under-utilization issues. Considering the significant effects of resource allocation on the service performance and cost, in this paper we have proposed an approach based on genetic algorithm for resource allocation which guarantees service quality through providing adequate resources. The proposed approach also improves system performance, meets the requirements of users and provides maximum resource efficiency. Simulation results show that the proposed approach has better response rate and availability comparing to other approaches, while provides an efficient resource usage.

Bioacoustics of Trogoderma granarium Everts (Coleoptera: Dermestidae)

        Azizi Farsani Payam,Sakenian Dehkordi Nader,Ebrahimi Rahim,Nemati Alireza,Taghizadeh Dehkordi Maryam 한국응용곤충학회 2024 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.27 No.1

Trogoderma granarium Everts (Coleoptera: Dermestidae) is one of the major destructive pests of grain products in hot and dry parts of the world. No information has been made available on the bioacoustic signals (BASs) of T. granarium. In this paper, the bioacoustic features of this insect have measured from larvae and adult males and females. No anechoic chamber was used in this study. The extracted features were compared to evaluate the ability of the acoustic method to determine larva or adult as well as their sex. Adult males and females and larvae T. granarium produced BASs with a length of 2–11, 2–52, and 2–30 ms with a maximum sound pressure level of 3, 36, and 17 dB, respectively. At least 60 % of all BASs were in the ranges of 2–12 impulses in larva and adult stages. The sum of the total BASs was different in larvae and adult stages. Adult males had the least number of BASs compared to adult females and larvae. Detection of the growth stage and determination of the sex of the adult T. granarium by acoustic method in the time domain depends on the feature extracted from BASs and number of their impulses. Furthermore, in the frequency domain, the most dominant frequency bands were in the range of 1–8 kHz. In this band, the most dominant frequency band was 3.5–4.5 and 1–1.7 kHz for adult males and larvae, respectively. The most dominant bands of 1–3 and 4–5 kHz were observed for adult females.
