MRT Letter: Optimal composite depth function for 3D shape recovery of microscopic objects
Majid, Abdul,Mahmood, Muhammad Tariq,Choi, Tae-Sun Wiley Subscription Services, Inc., A Wiley Company 2010 Microscopy research and technique Vol.73 No.7
<P>Generally, in shape from focus techniques, a single focus measure is used in estimating the three-dimensional structure of microscopic objects. However, the performance of a single focus measure is limited to estimate accurately the depth map of diverse type of objects. To cope with this problem, we propose genetic programming based novel approach by developing an optimal composite depth (OCD) function for accurate depth estimation. This OCD function optimally combines the initial depth and focus information extracted from individual focus measures. An improved performance of this function is reported for synthetic and real world microscopic objects. Microsc. Res. Tech., 2010. © 2010 Wiley-Liss, Inc.</P>

<P><I>Purpose:</I> To investigate the relationship between the Disc Damage Likelihood Scale (DDLS), visual field and various optical coherence tomography (OCT) parameters for glaucoma diagnosis. <I>Methods:</I> The study comprised 149 eyes from 149 patients. The patients were categorized as normal, glaucoma suspect or with glaucoma. They were clinically examined and graded according to the DDLS system. OCT was performed to acquire both a retinal nerve fibre layer analysis and an optic nerve head analysis. The relationships between DDLS score, visual field and OCT parameters were analysed using multiple correlation analysis. <I>Results:</I> The normal, glaucoma suspect and glaucoma groups had average DDLS scores of 1.58 ± 1.40, 2.55 ± 1.93 and 5.33 ± 1.39, respectively. Evaluating the area under the receiver operator characteristic curve, the DDLS had the best predictive power (0.917), followed by corrected pattern standard deviation. <I>Conclusion:</I> The DDLS is a useful parameter in the diagnosis of glaucoma and it showed a close correlation with visual field, cup/disc ratio and OCT parameters.</P><P>Copyright © 2010 S. N-SOLITON SOLUTIONS FOR THE SINE-GORDON EQUATION OF DIFFERENT DIMENSIONS
Abdul-Majid Wazwaz 한국전산응용수학회 2012 Journal of applied mathematics & informatics Vol.30 No.5
In this work the sine-Gordon equation will be examined for multiple soliton solutions. The higher dimensional sine-Gordon equations will be studied for multiple soliton solutions as well. The simplified form of the Hirota's method will be employed to conduct this analytic study.

Odor sensation is a sensory modality of considerable significance in the foraging behavior and interactionalorganization of ants. In the food bait technology, smell is the basis of attraction, which, in turn, is the line of baituse and a key parameter for judging efficacy. Yet, the currently available baits possess low attractiveness tomany ant pests. Hence, strategies to produce ant bait with increased attractiveness are needed. Despite evidencethat coffee has a diverse aroma complex that affects the behavior of honey bees and ants, its attraction to houseinvadingants has yet to be investigated. In a series of Y-tube olfactometer bioassays, we examined the behavioralresponses of Tapinoma indicum (TI), Monomorium pharaonis (MP) and Solenopsis geminata (SG) to various coffeeinducedodor stimuli, comprised of extracts from Arabica, Robusta and Liberica. All coffee extracts showed aninfluence on the behavior of TI, MP and SG workers, with Arabica showed the most significant influence to thetested ants. The workers of TI, MP and SG were more attracted to the odor of 0.01% Arabica extract (ONE), incomparison with 0.05% Arabica extract (TWO) or 0.10% Arabica extract (THREE). Arabica extract mixed withsugar (S) elicited a significant attraction from workers of all three species in a balanced competition with eitherunsweetened Arabica extract or water. These results indicated that coffee, particularly Arabica, was attractive tothe foragers of TI, MP and SG, thus, the use of coffee as a novel stimulus agent seems plausible in ant baitdevelopment.
COMPLETELY INTEGRABLE COUPLED POTENTIAL KDV EQUATIONS

We make use of the simpli¯ed Hirota's bilinear method with computer symbolic computation to study a variety of coupled potential KdV (pKdV) equations. Each coupled equation is completely integrable and gives multiple soliton solutions and multiple singular soliton solutions. The phase shifts for all coupled pKdV equations are identical whereas the coeffcients of the obtained solitons are not identical. The four coupled pKdV equations are resonance free.

Customers are now constantly linked and communicate extensively with each other utilizing technology-enabled media, such as online social networks. Therefore, when making buying decisions, customers are often subjected to social influence. The strategic orientation to face the crisis due to the pandemic is not enough to rely solely on market capabilities and dynamics driven by incentives from the government. The advantages that are built on values that become market attractiveness need to be explored so that they become the basis for developing concepts that serve as frameworks for solving problems. The purpose of this study is to calculate customer lifetime value (CLV) in a space such as Marketplace (with the presence of buyers and sellers) considering network relations and the communication that takes place between them. These communications are in the form of interactions between buyers and buyers (verbal advertising), buyers and sellers (each number affects the other) and sellers with sellers (verbal advertising). In addition to calculating CLV in this study, optimal marketing strategies (for buyers) and pricing (for suppliers) are determined. In fact, this research primarily aims to determine the optimal marketing and pricing strategies in order to maximize the profit and CLV of the customers over time. For modeling, an optimal control model is suggested and finally a numerical example and sensitive analysis are provided to demonstrate the proposed model. The research objective is to analyze the attractiveness and market-based strategies to increase competitiveness in the aviation industry. Descriptive research verification survey of 32 airlines with the observation unit leaders and employees and customers. Data analysis used variant-based structural equations (Structural Equation Modeling - SEM). The results show that market attractiveness remains a value for customers to be man-aged by the company. The implementation of company strategy with customer focus, competitor intelligence, cross-functional intelligence, and performance implications encourages the excellence of the company's position in terms of both price and quality, including innovation in providing services to customers
