THE SPECTRAL DETERMINATIONS OF THE JOIN OF TWO FRIENDSHIP GRAPHS

The main aim of this study is to characterize new classes of multicone graphs which are determined by their adjacency spectra, their Laplacian spectra, their complement with respect to signless Laplacian spectra and their complement with respect to their adjacency spectra. A multicone graph is defined to be the join of a clique and a regular graph. If n is a positive integer, a friendship graph $F_n$ consists of n edge-disjoint triangles that all of them meet in one vertex. It is proved that any connected graph cospectral to a multicone graph $F_n{\nabla}F_n=K_2{\nabla}nK_2{\nabla}nK_2$ is determined by its adjacency spectra as well as its Laplacian spectra. In addition, we show that if $n{\neq}2$, the complement of these graphs are determined by their adjacency spectra. At the end of the paper, it is proved that multicone graphs $F_n{\nabla}F_n=K_2{\nabla}nK_2{\nabla}nK_2$ are determined by their signless Laplacian spectra and also we prove that any graph cospectral to one of multicone graphs $F_n{\nabla}F_n$ is perfect.

A simple method has been developed for four-component synthesis of disubstituted 1,3,4-oxadiazoles using (N-isocyanimino)triphenylphosphorane, a primary amine, a carboxylic acid and biacetyl in $CH_2Cl_2$ by the Ugi-4CR/aza-Wittig sequence at room temperature in excellent yields.

Reactions of (N-isocyanimino)triphenylphosphorane with (1R)-(.)-campherchinon in the presence of aromatic carboxylic acids proceed smoothly at room temperature and in neutral conditions to afford sterically congested 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives in high yields. The reaction proceeds smoothly and cleanly under mild conditions and no side reactions were observed.

Objectives. The aim of this study was to detect the genetic cause of deafness in a large Iranian family. Due to the importance of SLC26A4 in causing hearing loss, information about the gene mutations can be beneficial in molecular detection and management of deaf patients. Methods. We investigated the genetic etiology in a large consanguineous family with 9 deaf patients from Fars province of Iran with no GJB2 mutations. Initially, linkage analysis was performed by four DFNB4 short tandem repeat markers. The result showed linkage to DFNB4 locus. Following that, DNA sequencing of all 21 exons, their adjacent intronic sequences and the promoter of SLC26A4 was carried out for mutation detection. Results. Two novel mutations (c.863-864insT and c.881-882delAC) were identified in exon 7 of the gene, in both homozygous and compound heterozygous state in patients. Conclusion. Our results supported the importance of the SLC26A4 mutations in the etiology of hearing loss among the Iranian patients and therefore its mutation screening should be considered after GJB2 in the molecular diagnostics of hearing loss, especially when enlarged vestibular aqueduct or goiter is detected.
