A conventional UPS can supply the clean power to the load However, it may generate input current harmonics and the input power factor can be very poor Therefore, the UPS itself may be a power interruption This paper provides multifunctional converter of using single phase UPS The proposed UPS can supply the clean power to the load without polluting the mains power system The multi-functional converter provides battery charging, var compensation and harmonic suppression simultaneously It was simulated to verify this work.

Single-Phase diode rectifiers are widely used in industry. These rectifier, however, generate many harmonic components in the AC Power line and have the poor input power factor, which may create a power quality problem for other electrical apparatus in the vicinity of the rectifier. Power factor improvement and harmonic reduction in the AC line current have become very significant problems in single-phase diode rectifiers. In this paper, the high power factor boost converter using soft switching is proposed to improve the demerit. The simulation results show the validity of the proposed system.

A single-phase PWM current source rectifier with a neutral leg is presented and throughly analyzed m this paper. This novel topology is implemented by adding an extra leg a step-down single phase PWM space vector modulation method to reduce the dc output voltage harmonics is proposed. The PWM pattern generation need a digital system As compared with a conventional single-phase PWM rectifier, over 20% improvement of the total harmonics distortion in the output voltage can be obtained. Different SVM techniques are analyzed for this PWM rectifier and simulation result are presented.

The variable speed drive system of a elecric motor is popular in industry due to its economical aspect and simplicity of implementation, comaparing with a steam turbine or the other engine driven. For a large pumping load like a feedwater pump rated about or more than 20,000kW, a synchronous motor could be primarily considered .<br/> In this paper, we studied the modelling of a variable speed drive system consisted with a load commutated inverter(LCI) and a brushless sailent pole rotor synchronous motor(SM) using MATLAB/SIMULINK.<br/> Simulation was performed with a small SM motor parameters.
