Dae Gon The study was conducted to investigate the effect of breed, sex on fatty acid compostition. Hanwoo and Holstein used, in the study were classified by sex. The results are summarized as follows ; Oleic acid and unsaturated fatty acids(UFA) percentages of total fatty acids in Hanwoo were higher than in Holstein, but palmitic acid and saturated fatty acids(SFA) were lower in Hanwoo. Oleic acid in steers of Hanwoo and Holstein tended to increase compared with bulls. Oleic acid in rib loin and top round were considerably higher in Hanwoo steers than in Holstein steers. In Hanwoosteers, oleic acid and UFA tended to increased while stearic acid and SFA decreased as marbling degree increased.

This experiment was carried out to investigate the difference of electrophoretical pattern of fertile and infertile eggs. DEAE-Cellulose column chromatography for fertile egg white and infertile egg white were carried out to find paotein bands. Individual protein bands were examined for electrophoretic mobility and compared to the patterns of egg white protein. The results obtained were summarized as follows. (1) In DEAE-Cellulose column chromatography, both of fertile and infertile egg whites were showed similarly peaks(280 nm), the peaks were founded 10, respectively. (2) In electrophoresis of egg white protein, electrophoretic pattern of fertile and infertile eggs was almost similar, the concentration of egg white protein in fertile and infertile eggs was in the rank of ovalbumin, conalbuin, globulins, postalbumins, preconalbumins, ovomacroglobulin, flavoprotein.

정형 및 비정형 건물에 대한 비선형 면진장치의 적용

면진기술은 주로 저층 구조물의 내진설계에서 적용되는 방법으로 건물과 기초사이에 면진장치를 설치하여 상부로 전달되는 지진하중을 효과적으로 감소시킨다. 그러나 이 방법은 중.고층 구조물에 그대로 적용하기에는 여러 가지 기술적 문제가 따르므로, 구보물의 중간층 일부를 분리시켜 상부로 전달되는 지진력을 감소시킬 수 있을 것이다. 본 노문에서는 저층 뿐만 아니라, 중.고층 정형구조물의 주상복합건물과 같은 비정형 구조물에 대하여 구조물의 중간층 일부를 비선형 면진장치로 면진시키고 그 효과를 분석하였다. 이러한 중간층 면진 구조물의 경우, 고정기초 구조물에 비하여 적은 층간변위나 층전단력이 발생하였으며, 특히 주상복합건물에서 상당한 효과를 볼 수 있었다.

한국토종닭과 교잡종의 나이와 성에 따른 근섬유의 조직화학적 특성 비교

This study was carried out to examine the histochemical properties of muscle fiber in Korean Native chickens(KNC). Wangchoo(crossbred) and broiler were used as controls in this study. Live weight and the weight of the pectoralis profundus and iliofibularis muscles differed greatly among breeds. The largest live weight and muscle weight were obtained in broiler, the next in crossbred and the smallest in KNC. In percentage distribution of each fiber type, based on the reactivities for myosin adenosine triphosphatase and reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide dehydrogenase., the pectomlis profundus muscle was composed only of type IIW fibers throughout the experimental period in all breeds. However, the iliofibularis muscle was composed of type IR, IIR and IIW fibers. In the iliofibularis muscle, the highest frequency of type IIR fibers occured in the breeds, and type IR was the lowest percentage. In the same fiber type, the activities of reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide dehydrogense were different among the breeds. When KNC was compared with the crossbred, it showed higher frequency of type IIR fibers and lower frequency of type IIW fibers. The percentage of type IIR fibers of the female was higher than that of the male. The largest diameter of fiber was measured in broiler and the smallest in KNC, and the male had larger diameter than the female. A breed with larger body weight or iliofibularis muscle weight was exhibited larger diameter in each fiber type compared to the other breeds. At 7 weeks age, the largest diameter was measured in type IIt of crossbred, but diameter of type IIW was the largest in KNC. Broiler was the largest in the diameter of type IIW fibers at 7 weeks age, but the crossbred and KNC was the largest in the diameter of type IR fibers at 15 weeks age.

유사동적 실험법을 이용한 구조물의 내진 성능 평가

인류문명에 가장 파괴적인 자연재해 중 하나의 지진에 대한 대비의 필요성이 대두되고 있는 이때에 여러 가지 구조물들의 내진 설계 및 해석적 연구가 요구된다. 구조물의 내진 특성을 알기 위해서는 이론적 연구뿐만 아니라 실험적 연구가 특히 중요한데, 현재 존재하는 여러 가지 실험 방법들 중에서 컴퓨터-가력기 on-line 실험이라고 알려진 유사동적 실험은 진동대를 사용하지 않고 구조물의 내진 성능을 연구할 수 있는 실험 방법이다. 이 논문에서는 간단한 일 자유도 실험체들을 대상으로 유사동적 실험법을 적용하여 구조물의 내진 성능을 평가하였다. 실험에서 얻은 값들을 이론 값들과 비교한 결과 대체로 일치하는 경향을 보였으며, 좀 더 성능이 좋은 계측 및 제어장비들을 사용한다면 더욱 만족할 결과들을 얻을 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. It is necessary to conduct researches about seismic design and analysis to protect various structures from earthquakes which are one of the most destructive natural disaster to human civilization. To assess the seismic capacity of structure, not only analytical but also experimental researches are important. Currently, pseudodynamic test known as computer-actuator on-line test is one of the available test methods to assess seismic capacity of structure without using shaking table. In this paper seismic capacity of simple one-degree of freedom structure was estimated by pseudodynamic test. Good agreement between the experimental and analytical results was obtained. Better results would be obtained when more sophisticated measuring and controlling instruments are available.

변형도 속도효과를 고려한 저온에서의 면진장치 해석모델

고무제품에 근간을 둔 면진장치는 상당한 저온효과와 약간의 변형도 속도효과를 보여준다. 면진장치의 비탄성거동에 영향을 미치는 이들의 속성은 면진장치의 거동을 정확히 모델링하기 위해 반드시 고려되어져야 하기 때문에, 고무와 납 모두에 영향을 미치는 저온효과와 변형도 속도효과를 고려할 수 있는 해석모델을 제시하였다. 얼린 면진장치를 일정 수직하중에서 수평방향 반복하중을 가한 실험결과들로부터 시스템 식별(SI : system identification)을 적용하여 해석모델에 필요한 고무와 납의 매개변수들을 구하였다. 제안된 해석모델은 면진장치의 거동을 유사하게 표현할 수 있음을 보여준다. Rubber bearings may exhibit a significant cold temperature effect and some velocity dependency(strain rate effect). Both of these attributes which affect non-linear behavior must be accounted for when accurately modeling the bearings behavior, therefore, an analytical models is proposed to consider the effects of the cold temperature and strain rate on both rubber and lead. From the results of an experimental investigation where the frozen bearings were tested under lateral cyclic loading with constant axial load, a non-linear system identification with least squares procedure was applied to determine the material properties of rubber and lead. It is demonstrated that the proposed analytical model is able to simulate the reversed cyclic loading behavior of elastometric and lead-rubber bearings.

한우거세우의 도체 육질등급과 쇠고기 이화학적 성질과의 상관관계

The study was conducted to investigate the effect of castration on the carcass grade of Hanwoo reared under the same feed and feeding condition. The carcass grading scores were measured by the Korean carcass grading standards. The results were compared with respect to Hanwoo by sex. Hanwoo steers showed significantly higher marbling degree than Hanwoo bulls. In Hanwoo steers, moisture content was lower while crude fat was higher than in Hanwoo bulls. Water holding capacity and L value of rib loin were higher in steers than in bulls. Collagen content was higher in bulls than in steers. The degree of hardness and chewiness in steers were significantly lower than those in bulls. Moisture contents and cooking loss of water were decreased where crude fat contents and water holding capacity were increased as marbling degree increased.

Effect of emergency medical service use on time interval from symptom onset to hospital admission for definitive care among patients with intracerebral hemorrhage: a multicenter observational study

Objective This study evaluated whether emergency medical service (EMS) use was associated with early arrival and admission for definitive care among intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) patients. Methods Patients with ICH were enrolled from 29 hospitals between November 2007 and December 2012, excluding those patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic ICH, and missing information. The patients were divided into four groups based on visit type to the definitive hospital emergency department (ED): direct visit by EMS (EMS-direct), direct visit without EMS (non-EMS-direct), transferred from a primary hospital by EMS (EMS-transfer), and transferred from a primary hospital without EMS (non-EMS-transfer). The outcomes were the proportions of participants within early (<1 hr) definitive hospital ED arrival from symptom onset (pS2ED) and those within early (<4 hr) admission from symptom onset (pS2AD). Adjusted odds ratios were calculated to determine the association between EMS use and outcomes with and without inter-hospital transfer. Results A total of 6,564 patients were enrolled. The adjusted odds ratios (95% confidence intervals) for pS2ED were 22.95 (17.73–29.72), 1.11 (0.67–1.84), and 7.95 (6.04–10.46) and those for pS2AD were 5.56 (4.70–6.56), 0.96 (0.71–1.30), and 2.35 (1.94–2.84) for the EMS-direct, EMS-transfer, and non-EMS-direct groups compared with the non-EMS-transfer group, respectively. Through the interaction model, EMS use was significantly associated with early arrival and admission among direct visiting patients but not with transferred patients. Conclusion EMS use was significantly associated with shorter time intervals from symptom onset to arrival and admission at a definitive care hospital. However, the effect disappeared when patients were transferred from a primary hospital.

A ductal adenocarcinoma of prostate is a rare entity of a prostate carcinoma, originating from the epithelial lining of the primary and secondary ducts of the prostate. Although there have been about 100 reports of a ductal adenocarcinoma of the prostate in the English literature, this is the first case report described in Korea. Ductal adenocarcinomas of the prostate are often clinically underestimated as rectal examinations and the serum prostate specific antigen levels may be normal. We experienced a case of a ductal adenocarcinoma of the prostate in a 78 year-old man. (Korean J Urol 2004;45:742-745)
