Zea mays Linne belonging to Graminae family has been ordinarily made use of foods and fodder. Maydis Stigma, the stigma of maize, has been discarded without any special application with the exception of being applied as diuretic in the sphere of Chinese medicine, moreover, the pharmacological research toward Maydis Stigma as a medical herb has not been regretfully undertaken at all. The authors hereby paid attention to this point of view and made experiment to find out whether the water extract of Maydis Stigma might possess some pharmacological effect on the motility of the isolated rabbit uterus. The experiment was performed making the use of several agents related to the uterine motility such as acetylcholine, pilocarpine, epinephrine, atropine, barium chloride, quinine sulfate and oxytocin. The motility of the isolated rabbit uterus in Tyrode' solution was recorded with the electric kymograph according to Magnus method. The results of the experiment are as follows. 1. The motility of the isolated pregnant and nonpregnant rabbit uterus represents the tendency of gradual contractility in proportion to the concentration of ZW $10^{-4}$, $5{\times}10^{-4}$ and $10^{-3}$. 2. The uterine contractile effect of ZW $10^{-3}$ probably seems to antagonize the effect of epinephrine $10^{-6}$. 3. ZW $10^{-3}$ does not seem to have the significance with barium chloride, quinine sulfate and oxytocin respectively.
캐비닛 구조물의 내부 마찰소음 발생 메커니즘에 관한 실험적 연구

대형 냉장고의 경우 내부구조가 복잡하고 냉장고 문을 열고 닫을 때 냉장고 내부에 온도편차가 발생하며, 또한 진동에 의한 흔들림이 발생하게 된다. 이러한 다양한 원인에 의하여 간헐적으로 부품간 마찰에 의한 이상소음이 발생하기도 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 이상소음의 원인과 메커니즘을 실험적으로 분석하고 이것을 줄일 수 있는 가능성에 대하여 제안하고자 한다. 이상 소음을 구현하기 위한 실험장치를 구성하고 냉장고 문의 열림과 닫힘에서 발생되는 변형량 분석과 온도 변화에 따른 내부 압력변화를 측정하여 소음발생의 주요원인에 대하여 분석하였다. 또한 설계초기 단계에서 적용이 가능한 소음저감 방법론을 제안하였다. A large-sized refrigerator has a complicated inner structure such as a shelf and a rack for product loading. Therefore, when the refrigerator door is opened and closed, the temperature inside the refrigerator varies and vibrations occur due to the physical force applied for opening and closing the door. Owing to these factors, an abnormal sound is generated by the relative distortion between the inner structures. In this study, we aimed to clarify the mechanism that generates this abnormal noise inside the refrigerator using experimental approaches, and we also investigated ways by which to reduce this noise. Toward this end, we developed an experimental setup for measuring the noise, temperature, inner pressure, as well as amount of vibration, and we analyzed the main factors causing the noise based on the experimental results. Furthermore, we suggested a way by which to reduce the noise; this method can be applied in the design stage itself.

Bending strength of glass is dominantly determined by surface crack. In this respect, characterizing the resistance to surface cracking is very important in predicting the life of a glass. For this purpose, Vickers indentation was performed according to indentation load and dwell time for annealed and tempered glass. For both glasses the size of impression generated by Vickers indenter was approximately the same regardless of the dwell time but increased with the indentation load. Particularly, in annealed glass, radial cracks were additionally created at the vertices of impression. In tempered glass, on the other hand, only impression was created, which seems to be because the compressive residual stress on the surface of tempered glass prevented the radial crack from propagating. Consequently, tempered glass has better resistance to surface cracking than annealed glass, and it appears that the higher the compressive residual stress, the better resistance to surface cracking.
