Even though the efficient public transportation system has been issued in many areas, a few practical methodology of analysis and evaluation of the transit system has been developed since applying the practical methodology faces many difficulties as a feasible solution. For example, designing the public transit transfer system needs the feasible consensus of requirement and solution among the related people and institutes, which the system engineering concept should be involved. It is necessary and confident to analyze and evaluate the public transit transfer system in term of system engineering process.

The analog typed interface of main control room in nuclear power plant(NPP) is gradually being replaced to the one suitable for the digital environment. SKN 3,4 is currently developed in such a way to employ digitalized displays and controls such as computerized procedure system(CPS), large display panel(LDP), and Soft control. The main control room (MCR) of the SKN3, 4 was designed based on the human factors guidelines, which somehow lack of the confidence for the rapidly the developed guidelines needs to extend to the one to apply for the total digital environment including task environment, hardware and workstation. In order to achieve the research objectives, tremendous guidelines and technical papers related to evaluation issues of digital environment has been collected, analyzed and transformed to electric database forms and then built on database management system to retrieve the appropriate isues for the practical usage of evaluators-in-field.

The aim of this study is to propose the design process suitable for developing the cognitive interface considering system engineering process (SEP) models. Due to the cognitive workload in an operation of HMS, some cognitive interfaces have been developed. It is somehow difficult to use the developed cognitive interface in real working environment since they often showed a conflict to stereotyped interface. So it is necessary to develop the design process suitable for the more operator-specific interface. Various SEP models were reviewed for selecting the suitable design process which might resolve the problem from design-specific interface. The suitable process for designing cognitive interface was proposed considering currently usable SEP models. The findings from the study may be helpful for systematic approach to designing cognitive interface in digitalized environment. The proposed design process would be applied for easily employing the cognitive interface in digitalized working environment such as main control room in nuclear power plant.
전자식 절차서 시스템의 원전제어적합성 확인 및 검증절차

According to the developed design process, the main control room (MCR) of the SKN3,4 was aesthetically designed based on a design concept of the health and sustainability and technically evaluated with human factors guidelines, which somehow lack of the confidence on the evaluation for the rapidly changing digital environment. The suitable review guideline for the digitalized interface and the environment was developed such as the guideline for CPS with information displays on VDU. For the guideline development, tremendous guidelines and technical papers related to evaluation issues of digital environment has been collected, analyzed and transformed to electric database forms and then built on database management system, called Design Review Supporting System to retrieve the appropriate issues for the practical usage of evaluators-in-field.

Human Factors Engineering (HFE) for Main Control Room (MCR) of Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) has been applied to optimize the design and operation of Man-Machine Interface (MMI) between operators and their equipment in consideration of physical, psychological and cognitive aspects. However, it has been observed that operators complain about environmental discomfort in the MCR since the operators in the MCR experience excessive stress due to the environmental factors such as inappropriate interior and lighting system. Since the HFE is an essential factor for the high fidelity performance of operators in the MCR, the adequate MCR environment design with HFE rules and guidelines is as much important to enhance the operability and reliability of the MCRs. Therefore, there has been a strong need to design a pleasant environment for the MCR to improve human performance of the operators.
AHP를 이용한 개량형 정보 표시 평가 항목의 중요도 선정에 관한 연구

In large scale complex system such as a nuclear power plant, it is important to select guidelines and/or checklist to evaluate the system performance, especially human performance for visual information while the number of evaluation items of the guidelines and checklist is voluminous. This paper presents the methodology and experiment for the relative weights or priority selection of evaluation items on the advanced information display of main control room in a nuclear power plant. To summarize this, 1)many human factors guidelines of Visual Display Terminal(VDT) displays are collected, 2)the collected guidelines are integrated and unified based on some rules in a way to avoid confusion or errors about work performances of operator groups, 3)using the unified guidelines, the more important items are defined when the advanced information indexes are applied by using the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP). For employing the AHP, the decisions and response of many human factors evaluation specialists in this field are collected to get the priority order of the evaluation items of VDT. The result of this paper will be applied for the evaluation of the usability of next generation of nuclear power plant which is focused on the visual information display on VDT.
운전원 콘솔의 인간공학적 설계요소 추출을 위한 디지털과 아날로그 시스템 환경의 비교연구

Since the computer technology has been drastically developed and broadly employed for the design of human machine system, human system interface was somehow digitalized. Actually the operator’'s working environment employing the digital devices are not be fully digitalized due to its technical constraints so that it has been changed to the hybrid environment which has a combination of digital and analog elements. The hybrid environments need to study its characteristics and the guidelines for the proper design and evaluation purpose. This paper describes the human factor design elements of the console operated under hybrid environment through studying the characteristics of digital and analog environment based on the related human factor guidelines and literatures. The result of this paper implies the contribution to the evaluation of the generic human working environment which digital and analog elements are jointly used.
