Currently knowledge of strain in welds has mainly been obtained from strain gaging method: that is directly attaching most of the material to the gage. The very few non-contact methods are still in the early stage. One of the non-contact methods is by the use of the laser that has high-level of the accuracy for the measurement, and this laser also has excellent characteristics on which many studies for its applications are focused throughout the many fields. A method of study is on the measurement of the strain caused by the characteristics of the spot welded zone which is used with 3-D ESPI system that is functionally modified through the laser ESPI(Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry) system. This system employed the SGCC 1.2t which are mainly used for the steel plate such as automobile, structure, building material and electronic appliances.

The welding residual stresses produced by welding frequently cause a crack and promote stress corrosion etc. in heat affected zone contained with external load and weakness of material.<br/> For the purpose of relaxation of welding residual stress, post welding heat treatment (PWHT) is widely used.<br/> In this paper, the computer program which is based on Thermal-Elasto-Plastic-creep theory for plane deformation is developed by finite element method (F.E.M.) and verified its propriety by experimental measurement and also by using the developed computer program.<br/> The mechanical behavior of butt welding joint is clarified during PWHT.

When structures are constructed by welding, structural elements are always accompanied by welding residual stress and deformation. Therefore, when the rigidity and strength of the welded structures is considered, it is very important to have sufficient information about the effect of initial deflection and welding residual stress on them.<br/> In this paper, the square plates with welding residual stress under compression are dealt with; First, heat conduction and thermal elastic-plastic problems are analyzed by finite element method using 4-node isoparametric elements for assessment on the ultimate strength of welding joint. Later, the ultimate strength of welding joint is assessed by examining the effect of changed type of loading.<br/> The specimens are 500×500㎜(a/b=1) and 750×500㎜(a/b=1.5) rectangular plates of whichthicknesses is 9.0㎜ and simply supported plates getting axiul load in each direction.

This study is performed to investigate shearing characteristics for vibration damping sheet metals which are bonded with dissimilar sheet metals. A shearing tool set is designed and manufactured and shearing tests with the tool set are conducted at varying the magnitude of clearance in order to analyze the shearing characteristics. The shearing characteristics are analyzed for burr height and shape of sheared faces with respect to the magnitude of clearance between the punch and the die. The shearing test results demonstrate that optimum clearance is 8~12% of the sheet thickness at the shearing of the vibration damping sheet metals and the shearing direction has to controlled deriving occurrence of the burr at the thick sheet of the vibration damping sheet metals.

In this study, response values were analyzed according to aging conditions using Design of Experiment and Response Surface Methodology in order to produce maraging steel with excellent mechanical properties. Aging treatment conditions were selected with temperature and time. Through response optimization, then, time and temperature of the most optimal response values were extracted.
