Failure analysis of mechanical components is useful in predicting applied load as well as load type. Existing methods is applicable to structure with simple boundary conditions but not applicable to it with complex operational mechanism. This isn't helpful in structure design and cann' t improve its operation. We must have a grasp of failure boundary condition statistically in structure with unstable supports to prevent it from fatigue fracture. Therefore, this study examines failure of rocker arm shaft in design stage and the robustness on boundary condition of it by orthogonal array and ANOVA.

The vertical roller mill is the important mechine grinding and mixing various crude materials in the manufacturing process of portland cement. Table liner is one of griding elements of vertical roller mil and is subjected to the cyclic bending stress by rollers load and the centrifugal force by rotation of table. It demands 2X108 cycle. It fractures at the edge of grinding path of outside roller. The repair expense for it amounts to 30% of total maintenance of vertical roller mill. Therefore, this study shows the fracture mecharism of table liner for vertical roller mill using FEM (Finite Element Method) and fatigue analysis.
