The jet pump is being used in many fields for several purposes because of its simple construction and easy operation. The characteristics of the geometrical variables, pressure gradient and velocity distribution of the jet pump are studied using the CFD technique. The flow calculations through a bended nozzle, a mixing chamber and a venturi are presented and phenomenological aspects are discussed. This study solve 3-D steady incompressible Navier-Stokes equations using the Iterative time marching scheme. The governing equations are differenced with 1st-order accurate backward difference scheme for the time derivatives and 3rd-order accurate QUICK scheme for the convective terms, The Mark-and-cell concept was applied efficiently to solve continuity equation. which is differenced 2nd-order accurate central differenced scheme. The 4th-order artificial damping is added to the continuity equation for numerical stability. A O-type of grid system is generated inside a nozzle and venturi of the jet pump. It has concluded that the results of present study properly agree with physical flow phenomena.

Since the previous cut-and-try design algorithm require much cost and time, it has recently been concerned the automatic design technique using the CFD and optimum design algorithm. In this study, the Navier-Stokes equations is solved to consider the more detail viscous flow informations of cascade interaction and O-H multiblock grid system is generated to impose an accurate boundary condition. The cubic-spline interpolation is applied to handle a relative motion of a rotor to the stator.<br/> To validate present procedure, the time averaged aerodynamic loads are compared with experiment and good agreement obtained. Once the N-S equations have been solved, the computed aerodynamic loads may be used to computed the sensitivities of the aerodynamic obiective function. An efficient inverse design technique based on the MGM (Modified Garabedian-McFadden) method has been developed. The 2-D Navier-Stokes equations are solved for obtaining the surface pressure distributions and coupled with the MGM method to perform the inverse design. The solver is parallelized by using the domain decomposition method and the standard MPI library for communications between the processors. The MGM method is a residual-correction technique, in which the residuals are the difference between the desired and the computed pressure distribution. The developed code was applied to several airfoil shapes and the axial blade. It has been found that they are well converged to their target pressure distribution.

The present study is numerical simulation result to solve two-phase flow around a two-dimensional (2D) barge platform in forced-rolling. A platform with a draft equal to one half of its height was hinged at the center of gravity and free to roll with waves that had the same period as the natural roll period of a barge platform. In order to simulate the 2D incompressible viscous two-phase flow in a wave tank with the barge platform, the present study used the volume of fluid (VOF) method based on the finite volume method with a standard turbulence model. In addition, the dynamic mesh technique was used to handle the motion of the barge platform induced by the fluid-structure interaction. Consequently, the present results are able to predict the relevant aspects of the flow field and roll motion of the barge platform structure.
