The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of South Korea has applied a semi-public service system on domestic sea routes since 2018. This study aimed to measure the effects of policies surrounding the efficiency of those sea routes by applying the data envelopment analysis model. Furthermore, this study sought to draw political implications by examining the efficiency of domestic passenger shipping in Korea as well as its determinants. The research undergone in this study exploited the data of 86 domestic sea routes in Korea during 2017-2019. Semi-public routes were found to be more efficient than general routes and subsidiary routes. However, the average efficiency scores of all three types of routes diminished from 2017 to 2019, mainly due to a downfall of the number of passengers. The results also showed that the amount of subsidy positively affects the efficiency of sea routes. Other determinants that significantly affected the efficiency scores were the type of the routes, the design speed of the sailing ship, the age of the shipping company, and the distance of the routes, etc. Lastly, it was demonstrated that considering the number of cancellations of voyages in the efficiency analysis could reflect the properties of domestic sea routes.
Wearable elbow rehabilitation system using self-powered sensors

Increasing movement frequency and patient engagement is a crucial part of the rehabilitation process. One approach for integrating productive rehabilitation tasks with motivational features is through an interactive game. Furthermore, if moving the impaired body part can generate electricity to power the system it could motivate the patient even more. Therefore, in this work we developed a wearable elbow rehabilitation system using self-powered sensors based on the triboelectric nanogenerator. The system consisted of a 3D printed body integrated with the self-powered sensors that could provide real-time elbow joint motion data. After digitizing the acquired data, the elbow motion could manipulate objects in an interactive game made in Python language. We first provide detailed analysis of the system design and the triboelectric nanogenerator output which was enhanced using gears and material surface nano-patterning. Next we describe the sensor data processing circuit and game control using Arduino, based on the direction and extent of forearm motion. Finally we tested the wearable system and game on healthy subjects and stroke patients and analyzed the differences in subject performance which reflected their impairment level. We expect that our self-powered rehabilitation system could be used as a practical solution for home based elbow rehabilitation therapy.
재유화형 EVA 수지를 함유한 광산 폴리머-차수재의 물성 평가

저투수성 광산 차수재를 제조하기 위해 재유화형 ethylene vinyl acetate(EVA) 분말수지를 혼입한 폴리머-차수재를 제조하였다. EVA 수지는 방수성, 및 내구성이 우수하여 여러 산업에서 다양하게 활용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 시멘트와 골재 사이의 공간을 EVA 폴리머 필름으로 채워 기초 물성 향상 및 수밀성 향상을 통한 우수한 차수성능을 발현하고자 하였다. 연구결과 재유화형 EVA 분말수지 함량이 4%까지는 휨강도, 압축강도, 건조수축안정성 등 기초물성이 향상되는 것을 확인하였다. 하지만, 재유화형 EVA 분말수지 5%를 사용할 경우 물성이 크게 향상되지 못하거나 4% 대비 감소하는 것을 확인하였다. 투수계수 측정결과 8.30×10<SUP>-10</SUP>에서 5.50×10<SUP>-12</SUP>까지 저투수성을 발현하는 것을 확인하였다. The polymer liner and cover material were produced with an admixture of re-emulsification type ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) powder resin to make the low water permeability mine liner and cover material. The purpose of this study is to improve the basic physical properties and water tightness by filling the space between cement and aggregate with EVA polymer film, which result in the improvement of waterproof performance. It was confirmed that basic properties such as strength and dry shrinkage stability were improved until the re-emulsification type EVA powder resin was mixed up to 4%. However, it was confirmed that the physical properties were not significantly improved when 5% of the re-emulsification type EVA powder resin was used, or decreased compared with the case of using 4% of that. As a result of the measurement of the permeability coefficient, the physical properties were improved from 8.30×10<SUP>-10</SUP> to 5.50×10<SUP>-12</SUP>.

At present research on mining backfill materials is being carried out to prevent ground subsidence and breaking by underground cavern of exhausted mines. However, backfill materials can cause secondary environmental issues such as ground pollution. To solve these issues, liner and cover materials are constructed before backfill materials constructed, to inhibit toxic substances form moving to the surroundings. Liner and cover materials, however, should have an accelerating performance after construction and when the accelerating performance is degraded, the work efficiency can be lowered, and the construction cost can be increased, by many rebound content. Therefore, this study develops mining liner and cover materials, and evaluates their accelerating performance and physical properties of liner and cover materials by types and content of accelerating agent. In case of aluminate accelerating agent, it is mixed with more than 5% of liner and cover materials(binder/ratio); thus an accelerating performance satisfying Korean Industrial Standards(KS) occurs, and in case of alkali-free accelerating agent, when it is mixed with more than 7%(binder/ratio), accelerating performance satisfying KS occurs. The more the accelerating agent capacity increases, the more compressive strength decreases. In addition, it is confirmed that compressive strength of aluminate accelerating agent is more degraded than compressive strength of the alkali-free accelerating agent. It is also confirmed that drying shrinkage stability of the alkali-free accelerating agent is better than the drying shrinkage stability of the aluminate accelerating agent.

A Controlled Low-Strength Materials (CLSM) is suitable for mine backfilling because it does not require compaction owing to it high fluidity and can be installed quickly. Therefore, a CLSM utilizing CO<sub>2</sub>-solidified Circulating Fluidzed Bed Combustion (CFBC) coal ash was developed and it’s properties were investigated, since. CO<sub>2</sub>-solidification of CFBC coal ash can inhibit exudation of heavy metals. The chemical composition and specific surface area of Pulverized coal Combustion fly ash and CFBC fly ash were analyzed. The water ratio, compressive strength and length change ratio of CLSM were confirmed. The water ratios differed with the specific surface area of the CLSM. It was confirmed that the porosity of CLSM affected its compressive strength and length change ratio.
대규모 멀티 인터랙티브 디스플레이 시스템 이용을 위한 IR LASER 제스처 인식 시스템

본 논문에서는 인터랙션의 영역의 제한이 없이 사용자가 자유로이 시스템 사용이 가능하며 직접 스크린을 터치하지 않고 제스처를 통하여 터치 인터랙션이 가능한 대규모 멀티 인터랙티브 디스플레이 시스템 이용을 위한 IR laser 제스처 인식 시스템을 제안한다. IR laser를 통하여 인터랙션 막을 형성하고 band pass filter를 장착한 적외선 카메라를 통하여 인터랙션 영역의 모든 영상을 획득한다. 획득되어지는 영상은 영상처리 모듈을 통하여 이진화와 블랍 과정을 거쳐 잡음을 제거하고 라벨링을 통하여 블랍의 좌표를 획득한 후 packet으로 저장하여 네트워크 통신 시스템을 통하여 server로 보내어 진다. server에서는 메타포분석 모듈을 통하여 분석하고 메타포 이벤트로 저장하여 콘텐츠에서 실시간으로 결과를 보여 줌으로써 스크린을 직접 터치 하지 않고 제스처를 통한 터치 인터랙션이 가능하도록 한다. 본 시스템은 차후 시스템 확장과 다양한 콘텐츠와 그로 인한 다양한 인터랙션을 추가하여 많은 사용자가 동시에 다양한 콘텐츠를 사용 할 수 있는 인식 디바이스로서 활용이 가능하다.
