This paper describes the machining characteristics of micro waved V pattern. Experiments are carried out for changing of main configuration parameters such as period and width in machining micro waved V pattern using PCD(poly crystal diamond) with relief angle 3°. Cutting force was compared with the machining surface through SEM photographs to analyse influence of relief surface of tool. As a result, this study presented influence of relief surface of tool in machining micro wave V pattern and approach and method of quantitative analysis to create pattern as decreasing its influence.

As the Mobile and Display technology are being developed quickly, new wireless devices are released in great numbers. They reduce existing devices’ life time and demand a reduction of developing period of portable devices. With these demands, existing film cutting mold used many films of portable devices, especially LCD Display, needs to be more precise, and cheaper. In this research, we have analyzed machining characteristics of cutter shapes, materials, and cutting conditions for application to other films. Cutter edge was machined by slot cutting method and CAD program to select the cutter shape and cutter angle. Also, we have determined the optimal cutting conditions using high speed machining experiments to improve the productivity.

Temperature variation happens in micro prism roll mold processing system during machining the prism pattern roll mold using manufacturing optical films of LCD (liquid crystal display). This temperature variation induces pitch errors of the prism patterns. The temperature variation displaces the positions of the diamond cutting tool on the roll which was coated by the copper. In order to prevent the pitch errors, the stabilizing the temperature of machining environment is needed. Therefore, the researching on the temperature variation of the ultra-precision roll mold processing system on the machining of micro prism roll mold is needed. In this paper, the temperature variation of micro prism roll mold processing system is researched, the influence is analyzed, and the study for reducing the pitch errors carried out.
