Most of the housing types in Korean cities are composed of apartment houses, and the proportion is increasing more and more. And the living environment tends to get worse due to high-density development. In particular, the sunlight environment of inside and outside the residential complex is becoming poor by high-density development. Since the sunlight environment is a factor directly connected to human health, this situation is recognized as a social problem. In order to solve this problem, in this study, a new planning process was established by applying the parametric design methodology to high-rise apartment plans. This study first examined the concept and principle of parametric design through literature review, and confirmed the possibility of application to Korean apartment site plans. In order to optimize the sunlight environment in the complex, a process that allows real-time analysis of the sunlight environment by modifying the alternative plans at the initial stage of planning was proposed. In addition, a process was established to minimize the external impact of the new development and its effectiveness was verified. As a result, it was possible to optimize the sunshine environment in the complex through the real-time planning evaluation process. In addition, by using the new planning guide derived through the parametric design process, it was possible to achieve optimization of the plan that maximizes the floor area ratio of the project while minimizing the impact of sunlight on the adjacent area caused by the new development.

Variable force solenoid spool valves are widely used in automatic transmission and control systems. In this paper, the thermohydrodynamic flow characteristics of hydraulic spool valve is analyzed using a commercial computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code FLULENT. Streamlines, velocity fields and temperature distributions are showed for each position of the spool. The viscous heating effect caused by high-speed jet flow increase the oil temperature. Therefore the results and CFD analysis method adopted in this paper can be used in optimal design of various spool valves, and further intensive studies are required.

With the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology utilized in English classrooms, the present case study attempts to explore the strengths and limitations of Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) supported by AI chatbots. This study selected 20 experimental sentences, which were found to be difficult for a Dialogflow-driven chatbot to recognize in EFL classes. Then, the number of successful speech recognition cases was measured on the basis of the speech uttered by three groups (i.e., native English speakers, Korean-English bilinguals, and EFL students). It showed that the chatbot found it difficult to recognize fast speech phenomena including Tapification and/or Contraction. Moreover, the chatbot recognized bilingual speakers' English pronunciation most accurately, followed by native English speakers and EFL students, which might be attributed to the ASR algorithm based on the spoken English as an International Language (EIL). An additional analysis employing the Praat revealed that this was due to the duration of speech and pauses and that this sophisticated technology did not appear to be fully functional in recognizing unstressed sounds with a low level of duration. Finally, the present study suggests some ideas for designing and utilizing chatbots to achieve a higher level of efficacy in TEFL.
아파트 최적 배치 자동화 - Rhino Grasshopper를 활용한 parametric model의 최적화를 중심으로 -

Apartment building site planning is one of time consuming and labor-intensive tasks in architectural design field, due to its complexity in zoning regulations, building codes, local restrictions, and site-specific conditions. In other words, the process can be seen as a very complicated mathematical function with layers of variables and parameters, which ironically can be automated using computational methods on parametric tools. In this paper, a practical method of automating site planning of an apartment complex has been proposed by utilizing parametric approaches in Rhino 3D and Grasshopper. Two primary parameters, building heights and positions, determine the efficacy of building layouts under all regulatory standards, thus testing out numerous combinations of the two will produce some successful layout alternatives. For this, equation solver has been used for iterating the parametric model to sort out meaningful results among others. It also has been proven that the proposed process significantly reduced the time in site planning down to less than an hour on most cases, and many successful alternatives could be obtained by using multiple computers. Post evaluation processes such as day light and view shed analysis helped sort out the best performing ones out of functioning alternatives.

Air flow inside an automotive HVAC module was visualized using a high-resolution PIV technique with varying the temperature operation mode. The PIY system consists of a 2-head Nd:YAG laser(125mJ), a high-resolution CCD camera(2K×2K), optics and a synchronizer. A real automotive HVAC module was used directly as a test model. Some casing parts of the HVAC module casing were replaced with transparent windows for capturing flow images with laser light sheet beam illumination. Time-averaged velocity fields were measured for different temperature control modes. 본 연구는 노인복지시설을 대상으로 감염병 발생에 따른 시설의 변화와 감염병 확산 방지를 위한 대응 현황, 현장에서의 문제점과 어려움, 그리고 향후 감염병 예방과 대응을 위해 필요한 정책 및 방안을 조사하는 데에 목적이 있다. 본 연구를 위한 조사 자료는 2020년 3월 30일부터 4월 8일까지 경기도의 각 노인복지시설별 협회의 협조 및 장기요양보험 사이트에 등록된 경기도 장기요양시설(노인요양시설, 주간보호시설)의 이메일 주소를 확인 한 후 설문조사를 실시하여 수집하였다. 회수된 조사 자료의 분석은 SPSS 20.0 Win. 패키지를 사용하였으며, 기초통계분석 및 교차분석(χ2)과 평균 비교분석(ANOVA)을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 코로나바이러스감염증-19 발생에 따른 기관 종사자의 근로 조건의 변화는 적었으나 대부분의 기관 운영상황은 변화된 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 종사자의 감염병 발생에 따른 생활시설 업무량은 과중된 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 조사대상시설들은 감염병 확산을 방지하기 위한 기관매뉴얼을 보유하고, 다양한 감염병 확산 방지 정책을 실시하고 있었다. 넷째, 감염병 발생에 따른 어려움은 마스크 등 방역관련 물품 구입이 34.4%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 다섯째, 감염병 대응을 위한 정부 매뉴얼과 확진자·접촉자 등의 동선 공개는 적절하다는 평가가 나왔다. 마지막으로 감염병 확산 방지를 위해 가장 필요한 항목은 마스크, 소독약 등 감염예방 물품 구비로 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 바탕으로 향후 노인복지시설에서의 감염병 예방 및 대응을 위한 과제와 정책적 제언을 하였다. The purpose of this study is to investigate the changes in facilities for elderly welfare facilities and the current status of response to the spread of infectious diseases, problems and difficulties in the field, and policies and measures necessary to prevent and respond to infectious diseases in the future. The survey data for this study were collected from March 30 to April 8, 2020, from the cooperation of the associations of each elderly welfare facilities in Gyeonggi-do and checking the e-mail address of long-term care facilities registered on the ling-term care insurance site. The SPSS 20.0 Win. package was used for basic analysis and cross-analysis (χ2), and average comparison analysis(ANOVA). The results of the study are as follows. First, there was little change in the working conditions of institutional workers due to the occurrence of the Corona 19 Infectious Disease, but most of the institutions' operating conditions were changed. Second, according to the occurrence of infectious diseases of workers, the workload of living facilities was overwhelmed, while the utilization facilities were reduced and there was no difference. Third, facilities under investigation had institutional manuals to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and implemented various policies to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Fourth, the difficulty associated with the occurrence of Corona 19 infectious disease was the highest, with the purchase of related items such as masks. Fifth, it was evaluated that the government policy according to the occurrence of corona19 infectious disease was appropriate to disclose the government manual. Lastly, the most necessary items for preventing the spread of infectious diseases were masks, disinfectants, and other items to prevent infection.
