The aim of this study is to provide the basic data for fatigue behavior of RC beam strengthened with Carbon fiber mesh(CFM). The use of carbon fiber mesh reinforcements in concrete structure is expected to be increased, due to their high tensile strength, superior corrosion resistance, and good bonding performance. This study investigates the flexural performance and modes of failure of simply supported reinforcement concrete beams strengthened with externally bonded with CFM and mortar. The variable of experiment are the existence and location of clips, the chipping. The experimental results show that the RC beams strengthened with externally bonded CFM have more the fatugue capacity.

In recent years, CFRP(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer) had been widely used for reinforcement of damaged concrete beams. This study was conducted to develop the crack location technique for CFRP retrofitted concrete beam using AE(Acoustic Emission) method. To experimentally prove the crack source location made of four reinforced concrete beams retrofitted by CFRP. The results compared the real cracking location with the source location has perceived by AE monitoring, before it is appeared the primary crack by visual observation. So, This study used by a basic data in constructing the system of the failure warning at application.

One of the most important requirements for reinforced concrete constructions is the bond behavior between concrete and reinforcement. For practical application, it is very important to study bond behavior of reinforcing bars in recycled aggregate concrete (RAC). In this study, bond tests are conducted on 36 pullout specimens to study the influence of recycled coarse aggregate replacement level (i.e:, 0%, 30%, 60% and 100%) and compressive strength of concrete (i.e.. 21㎫, 27㎫, and 40㎫). Each specimen was in the form of a cube, with edges of 150㎜ in length and for the pull-out tests, a deformed bar, 16㎜ in diameter, was embedded in the center of each specimen. Base on the test results, the influences of both recycled coarse aggregate replacement level and the bond strength were investigated. The specimens of 21㎫ and 27㎫ failed due to pull-out failure mode, but 40㎫ specimens have splitting failure mode. It was found that under the equivalent concrete strength, the bond stress between the recycled coarse aggregate concrete and the deformed bars has no obvious relation with the recycled coarse aggregate replacement level. Also, specimens with recycled coarse aggregate concrete showed a higher bond stress than that provided in CEB-FIP Code.

Eighteen pullout tests were carried out in order to investigate the bond between recycled coarse aggregate concrete and reinforcing steel bars. Concrete casting direction (i.e., vertical and horizontal) was considered as variable in this paper. Prismatic specimens with deformed steel bars(D13) embedded for a fixed length equal to four equivalent diameters were tested under monotonic increased displacements at the tip of the bars. From the comparisons of test results, it was found that under the same mix proportion(i.e., the mix proportions are the same, except for casting direction), the bond strength between the recycled coarse aggregate concrete and the reinforcing steel bars has obvious relation with concrete casting direction. It has a significant effect on the bond behavior between the recycled coarse aggregate concrete and the reinforcing steel bars. Specimens of HU type showed a lower bond stress than that provided in CEB-FIP Code.
