        고지방식이를 섭취한 마우스에서 나린진과 나린진-사이클로덱스트린 포접화합물의 지질대사에 대한 영향 비교

        Naringin has antioxidant and antihyperlipidemic properties, however, phenolic compounds including naringin are unstable in the presence of light, heat and oxygen. Beta-cyclodextrin (β-CD) is a cyclic heptamer composed of seven glucose units that enhances the stability and solubility of molecules through the formation of inclusion complexes. This study was conducted out to compare the effects of CD-naringin (CD-N) inclusion complexes with naringin on lipid metabolism in high fat-fed animals. Male C57BL/6 mice were fed either CD-N (0.048%, w/w) or naringin (N, 0.02%, w/w) in a 20% high-fat (HFC, 15% lard, 5% corn oil, w/w) diet for 10 weeks. Orlistat (Xenical, 0.01%, w/w) was used as a positive control (PC). There were no differences in body weight, food intake, liver and heart weights, plasma triglyceride(TG), leptin, adiponectin, resistin, IL-1β and IL-6 concentrations, and hepatic β-oxidation, carnitine palmitoyl transferase(CPT), glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) and malic enzyme activities between the HFC and CD-N groups or between the HFC and N groups. However, both CD-naringin and naringin supplementation les to a significant reduction in the epididymal and perirenal white adipose tissue weights, plasma free fatty acid, insulin and blood glucose concentrations, hepatic cholesterol and TG contents and hepatic fatty acid synthase (FAS), phosphatidate phosphohydrolase (PAP) and HMG-CoA reductase activities compared to the HFC group. The plasma HDL-cholesterol concentration was significantly higher in CD-N and N groups than in HF and PC groups. These results indicate that both CD-naringin and naringin supplementation effectively improved plasma and hepatic lipid metabolism without differences between CD-N and naringin groups.

        대구 S병원 뇌졸중 환자의 생활 습관 및 식습관에 관한 조사 연구

        Stroke is a serious disease despite recent improvements in the medical treatments available. Thirty-six stroke patients were interviewed as case and 36 non-stroke patients were interviewed as controls between February 2005 and August 2005 at Daegu S Medical Center. Information regarding the subjects' food habits was collected using the recall method from 5 years before the onset of stroke. Using interview techniques, we investigated how dietary habits and attitude influence nutrient intake. These results were analyzed by the χ², Student's t-test and Chi-square test using the SPSS 12.0 program. This case-control study was performed to demonstrate the relationships among general quality factors (BMI, WHR, and family history of stroke) and lifestyle factors (smoking, exercise and alcohol drinking). The results were as follows. Analysis of the percentage of nutrient intake in terms of meal pattern showed that WHR was significantly higher in the case group than in the control group. Hypertension and diabetes were the most common preceding diseases associated with the risk of stroke. The frequencies of smoking, alcohol consumption (p<0.001) and exercise (p<0.05) were higher in the cases than in the controls. Thus, the findings of this study are consistent with those of previous studies and suggest that people should be advised to control hypertension, smoking, alcohol drinking and obesity in order to prevent the occurrence of stroke as these factors are major risk factors for stroke.

        토종홍화씨의 급여가 실험동물의 늑골골절 회복중 골조직에 미치는 영향

        한국산 토종홍화씨의 분말의 급여가 수술적 방법에 의해 유도된 흰쥐의 늑골골절상 치유에 미치는 영향을 조사하고자 정상식이를 급여한 대조군(C group)과 홍화씨분말을 사료의 10% 수준으로 급여한 홍화투여군(S group)으로 나누어 실험하였다. 골절의 치유과정 동안 일어나는 골조직의 형태학적 변화를 치유기간에 따라 관찰하였다. 골절치유 초기에 형성된 가골의 구조에서 홍화투여군이 대조군에 비하여 초자연골 비율이 매우 높게 나타났다. 연골내골화의 경우는 대조군에서 골절 유도 후 11일째인 C2군에서부터 관찰되기 시작하였으나 홍화투여군에서는 골절유도 후 8일째인 홍화투여군에서부터 이미 관찰되기 시작하여 이 그룹에서 치유가 대조군보다 빠르게 진행되고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 가골에서의 막성뼈 발생과정인 막성골화의 경우에서도 홍화투여군에서는 골절 8일째부터 11일째에 해당하는 S1군에서부터 S2군에 걸쳐 광범위하게 관찰된 반면 대조군에서는 골절 11일째와 16일째에 해당하는 C2와 C3군에서 관찰되기 시작하였다. 골흡수과정 역시 홍화투여군에서 빠르게 개시되어 골절유도 후 30일째인 S5군에서는 대부분의 지주골(trabecular bone)이 이미 흡수되었으나 C5군에서는 여전히 다량의 지주골(trabecular bone)이 남아 있었다. 골절 후 형성된 가골의 흔적도 대조군보다 홍화투여군에서 일찍 사라진 것으로 보아 홍화씨 분말의 급여는 골절의 치유과정에서 골조직의 회복속도를 빠르게 하여 치유에 걸리는 시간을 단축시키는 효과가 있는 것으로 관찰되었다. This study was carried out to investigate the effects of diet of Korean safflewer(Cartharnus tinctorious L.) seed powder on bone tissue during the recovery of rib-fracture in rats. Male Sprague-Dawley rats of 10 weeks old, weighing 370±5g, were divided into two groups including the control group(C group, AIN-76 semipurified diet) and safflower seed group(S group, AIN-76 semipurified diet + 10% safflower seed powder) and were fed experimental diets for 12 days after adaptation period. After this period, the 9th right rib was fractured surgically and sham-operation was also performed. Rats were fed with experimental diets for up to 30 more days after rib-fracture. The degree of bone repair was evaluated during the recovery period at the 8th, 11th, 16th, 21st, 30th days after the surgical operation by microscopic observation of the fractured rib tissue. In callus formation, the portion of hyaline cartilage was noticably higher in S group than C group. The intracartilagenous ossification was observed at the 8th day in S group, but at 11th day in C group. The intramembranous ossification in callus was widely found over the 8th day to the 11th day in S group, but it was shown over the 11th day to the 16th day in C group. Bone resorption was also occured more rapidly in S group as indicated by large numbers of osteoclasts observed. At the 30th day, most of trabecular bones were disappeared in S group, whereas still shown in C group over wide ranges of fractured ribs. These results imply that the supplementation of Korean safflower seed powder influences in the recovery of bone fracture by accelerating the process of bone repair.

        홍화종실분말 식이가 고지방 - 고콜레스테롤섭취 흰쥐의 지질대사에 미치는 영향

        10% 묶음홍화종실분말 식이가 고지방-고콜레스테롤 섭취 흰쥐의 혈장과 간장의 지질대사 및 간조직에 미치는 영향을 조사한 결과는 대조군과 홍화종실군에 있어서 식이섭취량, 체중증가량 및 장기의 중량에서는 통계적으로 유의적 차이를 발견할 수 없었으며 혈장 중성지방은 홍화종실군이 대조군에 비하여 낮은 수준이었으나 두 군간에 통계적 유의성은 보이지 않았으며 혈청의 지단백질인 β-lipoprotein함량은 홍화종실군은 72.70±4.08㎎/dl로 대조군의 119.82±7.42㎎/dl에 비하여 매우 낮은 수준을 나타내었다(p<0.001). 또한 혈장 총 콜레스테롤 함량은 홍화종실군이 72.94±2.78㎎/dl로 대조군의 89.41±4.1㎎/dl보다 유의적으로 낮게 나타났다(p<0.001). 또한 혈장 HDL-C수준은 홍화종실군이 39.28±5.64㎎/dl로 대조군의 32.49±1.61㎎/dl보다 유의적으로 높은 수준을 보였다(p<0.05). 또한 혈중 LDL-C의 수준은 홍화종실군이 대조군에 비하여 다소 낮았고 혈중 총콜레스테롤에 대한 HDL-C의 비율은 홍화종실군이 53.8%이고 대조군은 36.3%로 혈중 콜레스테롤을 조직, 특히 간장으로 운반함으로서 콜레스테롤 제거기능을 하는 HDL-C의 작용이 홍화종실군에서 더욱 현저함을 알 수 있다. 이와같이 홍화종실의 급여가 흰쥐의 혈중 중성지방과 콜레스테롤 저하의 효과가 있음이 확인되었다. 뿐만 아니라 총콜레스테롤과 HDL-C 농도의 차이를 HDL-C농도에 대한 백분비로 나타내는 동맥경화에 대한 위험성 척도인 AI(atherogenic index)는 홍화종실군이 0.86으로 대조군의 1.75에 비하여 약 1/2 수준으로 매우 낮은 값을 나타내었다. 그러므로 홍화종실분말의 급여가 흰쥐의 고지혈증의 개선 및 동맥경화예방에 뚜렷한 효과가 있음이 재확인되었다. 또한, 간장의 총지질과 인지질의 함량의 경우에는 대조군과 홍화종실군간에는 차이가 없었으며, 중성지방은 대조군이 52.47±13.46㎎/g로, 홍화종실군의 41.18±15.27㎎/g에 비해 약 25% 정도 높게 나타났다(p<0.01). 간장 콜레스테롤수준은 홍화종실군이 9.77±3.69㎎/g로 대조군의 10.81±2.51㎎/g과 비교해 약 11.1%의 감소를 보였다(p<0.05). 그러나 간조직의 콜레스테롤 에스테르화에 관여하는 ACAT의 활성도는 두 군간에 유의적 차이가 없었다. A study was carried out to investigate the effects of safflower seed powder on the improvement of lipid metabolism in high fat and high cholesterol-fed rats. Male Sprague-Dawley rats of 10 weeks old, weighing 325±5g, were divided into two groups; the control group(C group, high fat(10% lard) and high cholesterol(1% cholesterol)) and safflower seed group(S group, 10% safflower seed powder), they were fed experimental diets for 6 weeks. Food intake, body weight gains and organ weight had little differences between the groups. Concentration of β-lipoprotein in serum was remarkably lower in S group than in C group. Serum cholesterol levels were significantly lower in S group(72.94±4.08㎎/dl) than in C group(89.41±4.19㎎/dl). The level of serum HDL-cholesterol was higher in S group than in C group. The level of serum LDL-C was significantly lower in S group than in C group. The ratio of HDL-cholesterol to total cholesterol were higher in the S group than in the C group, too. The value of atherogenic index(AI) was determined to be low in S group. The content of liver triglyceride and cholesterol in the S group was lower than that of C group. ACAT activities which involves in cholesterol esterification in liver, was not significantly different between two groups.
