경희대학교 사례를 중심으로 본 학술적 글쓰기의 효율적 교육 방안 연구

‘학술적 글쓰기’는 대학 글쓰기의 주요한 위치로 자리매김하며, 그 위상을 공고히 하고 있다. 그러나 ‘논문쓰기’라는 학술적 글쓰기의 본령이 강의의 실제에 여러 가지 어려움을 동반하고 있는 것이 사실이다. 위와 같은 문제의식 하에서 본고는 경희대학교 학술적 글쓰기인 〈글쓰기2〉강좌를 대상으로, 새로운 이론의 접목과 같은 거창한 방안이 아니라 학습자의 입장에서 수업에 참여할 수 있는 현실적인 방안을 제시하였다. 중점 방안은 5단락 글쓰기의 연습을 통해 학술적 글쓰기를 위한 기초체력을 기르는 한편, 반개방적 테마를 제시하여 조별아이디어를 협업할 수 있게 하는 것이다. 이를 통해 학습자는 학술적 글쓰기의 초반 단계에서 겪게 될 혼란을 최소화 할 수 있다. 더불어, 공통의 관심사에 대한 소통을 통해 자신의 문제의식을 예각화하여 궁극적으로는 각자 하나의 논문을 완성하게 하고, 논문을 써나가는 과정 속에서는 다시 함께 협업할 수 있도록 지도했다. 이 과정에서 교수자는 매주 조별 단위로 실질적인 합평을 진행하며 개별적 피드백을 온전히 진행할 수 있게 되었다. 제시한 수업 모형에 대한 학생들의 반응 역시 만족스러운 편이었으며, 논문에 대한 접근성 또한 개인적으로 접근할 때에 비해 상당부분 향상되었다. 따라서 향후 이와 같은 ‘소통’과 ‘협업’에 중점을 둔 개별 논문 작성이라는 ‘학술적 글쓰기’의 수업 모형을 더욱 정치하게 발전시켜 나갈 필요성이 있다. 나아가 본 논의의 수업모형이 논문이라는 테두리를 벗어나 ‘학술적 글쓰기’에 어려움을 겪는 교수자-학습자 사이에 실질적인 효용성을 갖출 수 있게 되기를 바란다. Academic writing has become the standard for writing at universities. However, the pinnacle of academic writing, “writing a thesis,” is accompanied by various difficulties in the actual practice of lectures. In this regard, this article presents a more effective method for teaching academic writing 〈Writing 2〉 at Kyunghee University, one that emphasizes class participation and the learner’s perspective. This method aims to develop basic skills in academic writing through the practice of writing five-paragraph essays and allowing students to collaborate on group ideas by presenting semiopen themes for essay topics. This allows learners to minimize the confusion they will encounter in the early stages of academic writing. In addition, through communication about common interests, the learners become aware of their writing problems, complete a single paper, and learn to collaborate during the process of writing a thesis. By using this methodology, the instructor is able to evaluatie each student’s writing on a weekly basis and provide individual feedback. The students’ responses to the presented teaching model were satisfactory, and access to the theses was significantly improved compared to when they were accessed individually. Therefore, there is a need to further develop the teaching model of academic writing to focus on communication and collaboration. In addition, I hope that the teaching model discussed in this paper will move beyond its use for thesis writing and have practical utility for teachers and learners who have difficulty in academic writing.

This study provides basic data that are helpful to prepare a sizing system for dress shirts that improves the wearer``s size fitness. The 16 different parts of the dress shirts were measured for 24 pieces of dress shirts with three kinds of size (95, 100 and 105) among the eight different brands on the market. The measurement sizes of the dress shirts analyzed the accuracy of the size information, size classification by size designation, and differences of size by brand. The results of the study were: 1. The size information of dress shirts differed from customer demand. 2. The size increments between size designations differed from each other even though measurement sizes of the dress shirts increased as the size designation increase. 3. Measurement sizes of the dress shirts were different between brands even for dress shirts of the same size designation. It is necessary that manufacturers secure an accurate and standardized sizing system and provide accurate information for the measurement sizes of dress shirts on an online shopping mall.
