모바일 중심 IoT(Internet of Things) 서비스의 비전과 스마트 홈서비스의 디자인 방향

본 연구에서는 모바일 기기를 중심으로 구성하는 IoT 서비스 디자인의 특성을 고찰하고 효과적인 IoT 서비스 디자인을 위한 디자인 연구 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 방법은 IoT 서비스의 개념적 고찰과 특징, IoT 서비스의 현황을 조사하고 특히 모바일 플랫폼에서 IoT 서비스를 어떻게 바라보고 있는지를 구글과 애플의 IoT 서비스 개발 사례를 통하여 연구하였다. 그리고 소프트웨어 서비스 프래임웍이 공개된 애플의 홈 킷을 구조적으로 분석하여 홈 킷의 스마트 홈서비스 구현 역량과 가능성, 한계점을 도출하였다. 그리고 홈 킷 기반의 스마트 홈서비스에 대한 디자인 연구 방향들을 도출하였다. 제시된 연구 방향은 홈 킷 프레임웍의 서비스와 속성에 대한 창의적 접근, 홈 킷 구성 요소의 등록과 설정에 대한 사용자 경험의 연구, 시리(Siri)의 사용성을 높이기 위한 문화적 컨택스트 연구, 빅 데이터의 활용과 스마트 홈서비스 진화에 대한 연구이며, 이에 대한 구체적인 디자인 연구 주제들을 제시하였다. This paper studies Internet of Things (IoT) service design as a extension of mobile service design to explore needs and possibilities of design research in IoT service design. For the first step of research, the concept of IoT service and its characteristics are studied, then Apple and Google"s IoT strategies are reviewed as case studies. The research focus goes on Apple"s home kit framework, which is software structures of Apple"s IoT service. The API"s and development process are studied to vision Apple"s IoT service capabilities and new service opportunities. Based on in depth research of home kit frame work, key issues of IoT design research are found. The detailed research themes are proposed on enhancing creativity of service and characteristics attributes of home kit frame work, UX design on IoT service setting process, cultural context for Siri usability, big data analysis and evolution of IoT eco system.

애플의 모바일 운영 체제인 iOS의 발전 과정 분석을 통한 mobile UX 디자인의 비전 고찰

본 연구는 아이폰의 운영 체제인 iOS의 발전 과정을 GUI 디자인과 개발 방법론의 시각에서 고찰, 분석하고 아이폰을 중심으로 한 모바일 UI 디자인의 변화가 모바일 디자인의 개념과 방법론에 미친 영향을 도출하여 향후 모바일 디자인의 비전을 예상해 보고자 하였다. 본 연구의 진행 방법은 iOS의 변화를 iOS 4 이전과 iOS 5, iOS 6, 그리고 2013년 9월 출시된 iOS 7의 4단계로 나누어 각 OS 단계에서 보여주고 있는 주요 UI구성의 변화와 GUI에 영향을 미치는 하드웨어 및 서비스의 변화, Xcode 소프트웨어로 대표되는 앱 개발 방법론의 변화를 애플 개발자 문서 자료를 중심으로 분석하고 전체 흐름을 주도하는 키워드들을 도출하고자 하였다. 또한 발견된 키워드들을 소프트웨어 생태계의 변화, 디바이스 생태계의 변화, 소프트웨어 개발 방법론의 변화, iOS UI 정책의 변화, iOS 표현 양식의 변화의 기준으로 나누어 변화의 의미와 미래 비전을 고찰하였다. This paper explored evolutional changes of UI design and development methodology for iOS system, Apple’s mobile operation system, according to annual revisions of iOS from 2007 to 2013. Based on iOS’ services and UI design analysis, this paper discussed how iOS influences on mobile UI and mobile market and the vision of mobile UI design which iOS is shaping. The four historical phases of iOS services, which is before iOS 4, iOS 5, iOS 6, and iOS 7 are explored in details, then the findings are stated in terms of software ecosystem, device ecosystem, software development methodology, iOS UI policy and iOS UI presentation styles. As a conclusion, the notable trends to change designer’s minds and capabilities are the acceleration of changes of mobile UI, variety of mobile service concepts, and unification of services and contents across devices, systems, development process.

워드프레스(Wordpress) 테마(Theme) 커뮤니티의 디자인과 사용자 경험에 관한 연구

본 연구는 워드프레스 서비스의 테마 검색과 커스터마이징에 대한 일반 사용자와 디자이너 사용자의 테마 사용 경험 개선을 목적으로 커뮤니티 중심의 테마 정보 서비스를 연구하였다. 본 연구의 방법은 먼저, 워드프레스 테마의 검색과 선택 과정에서 사용자의 의사 결정에 필요한 테마 정보를 도출하고 테마 정보의 체계를 구성하였다. 그리고 워드프레스 및 웹 서비스 개발 관련 유명 커뮤니티들의 커뮤니티 서비스 구조와 사용자 콘텐츠들을 분석하여 커뮤니티 기반의 테마 정보 서비스 시나리오를 도출하였고, 이를 반영하여 테마 중심의 커뮤니티 서비스 사이트 ‘테마-딱’을 제작, 완성하였다. ‘테마-딱’ 서비스를 워드프레스 초보 사용자 20명을 대상으로 2주간 사용자 테스팅을 수행한 결과, 주요 서비스 중에서 가장 긍정적인 피드백을 받은 서비스는 테마 템플릿 정보와 이상형 테마 콘테스트였다. 본 연구에서 실험한 다양한 형식의 커뮤니티 콘텐츠와 사용자 참여 데이터들은 오픈 플랫폼으로서의 워드프레스 서비스에 적합한 테마 정보 서비스의 방향을 제시 하고 있다. This study proposes community based web service for contents providers and web designers to provide user-centered approach on Wordpress theme search and customizstion process. The contents and structure of theme information is analyzed and online communities on programming and Wordpress are studied to development of community based, theme contents service scenario. As a result, I launched ‘Themettack’ web service, I took beta testing with 20 users for 2 weeks, and found that theme template image and ideal theme contest services are the most satisfactory experiences. Various community contents which tested in this study and user participation data provided proper directions of Wordpress theme service as open source platform.

모바일 앱 개발 환경에 적합한 UX 디자인의 역할과 방법론의 요건

본 연구는 모바일 앱 개발 분야에서 제안 되고 있는 실무 방법론인 애자일 UX (Agile UX)를 중심으로 지엽적으로 일어나고 있는 UX 방법론의 변화들을 HCI 연구의 거시적인 흐름 안에서 이해하고, 각 현상에 대한 의미 분석을 통하여 모바일 앱 개발을 위한 UX 디자인 방법론의 체계적 완성에 필요한 요구 사항과 연구 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 연구의 진행 방법은 먼저 최근 발표된 HCI 연구 방법론 관련 논문 및 학술 블로그 분 석과 주요 UX 및 디자인 방법론 정보 tweet들을 follow하여 정보 수집을 수행하였고, 모바일 앱 개발의 대표적 모형인 아이폰 앱의 개발 사례 및 개발 방법론 분석을 수행하여 종합적인 모바일 앱 UX 디자인의 최근 트렌드를 도출하였다. 수집된 정보들은 모바일 앱 개발 환경의 특성 분석과 모바일 앱을 위한 UX 디자인 방법론의 현황 및 문제점 분석으로 정리하였고 발견된 현상들과 Harrison이 주장한 제3의 HCI 패러다임의 조건들을 연계하여 새로운 UX 디자인 방법론의 비전을 체계화하였다. 그리고 새로이 제시되는 디자인 방법론인 Agile UX의 적용 가능성을 탐색하였으며, 국내 UX 디자인 상황에 맞는 서비스 에코 시스템 중심의 유기적인 조직 구성, 개발자와 커뮤니케이션이 가능한 학제적 UX 디자이너 인재상, 데이터 기반 UX 리서치 방법론의 개발, 디자인 산출물과 개발 산출물의 통합 관리, 워크시트를 사용한 개방적이고 학제적인 기획 방법과 관련 사례들을 향후 모바일 앱 UX 방법론의 발전 방향으로서 제안하였다. This paper explored new trends and directions for UX design methodology on mobile app development based on Agile UX Design methodology and the 3rd paradigm of HCI research. By professional references and tweet analysis, the characters of mobile app development and mismatching problems between conventional UX methodology and agile development process were found. In relation to Agile UX approach and the new HCI paradigm shift, this paper suggested the directions for UX design methodology for mobile environment as follows: Service oriented team organization, inter-disciplinary, code comfortable skill set for UX designers, Development of knowledge based UX research methodology, code-centered UX deliverables, Use of work sheet as an open-ended and collaborative UX planning tool.

워드프레스(Wordpress) 테마(Theme) 응용을 기반으로 하는 웹 서비스 디자인 방법 연구

본 연구는 대표적인 웹 콘텐츠 관리 서비스인 워드프레스(Wordpress)를 활용하여 웹 서비스를 구현할 때 워드프레스의 특징적인 개발 유형인 테마 기반 디자인 개발의 문제점을 도출하고 디자이너의 창의성을 반영할 수 있는 워드프레스 테마 기반 웹서비스 디자인 방법의 방향을 연구 제안하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 방법은 먼저 워드프레스 테마의 구성과 테마 마켓의 문제점을 고찰하였고, 워드프레스 테마기반 웹 서비스 제작 사례를 수행하고 그 디자인 개발 과정을 분석하여 문제점을 도출하였다. 사례 연구에서 발견한 디자인 과정의 주요 문제점은 테마의 콘텐츠 구조를 미리 이해하기 어려운 점과 테마 수정 방법에 대한 정보가 부족한 점, 대시 보드의 디자인 구성 일관성이 부족한 점, 테마 템플릿의 체계 분석이 어려운 점, 개발 구조상 다양한 해결안을 비교 평가 할 수 없는 점들이다. 이상의 발견 점들을 종합하여 현행 워드프레스 서비스 체계에서 디자인 기획, 디자인 시안 제작과 관리, 시안의 비교 평가가 가능하도록 디자인 과정의 정보 관리를 보강한 웹 디자인 방법을 제안하였다. This study proposes customized design process and methodology for wordpress web service based on structural analysis of wordpress theme components to enhance design quality of wordpress sites and increase designer’s role in wordpress service domain. Firstly, we have identified problems of wordpress theme information through exploring theme search and theme information analysis in main wordpress theme markets. Secondly, we set up case study to experiment full process of wordpress theme based web design, then found unique problems in each design phases. As a result, customized design process and methodology are proposed for wordpress theme based web design.
