Numerical simulation of automotive defrost duct and nozzle was performed to guide a design recommendation. The geometry shape of defrost duct was modified to optimize the aerodynamic performance and the flow split. Newly in the present study, windshield flow simulation in passenger compartment was carried out with and without external guide vane of nozzle on instrument panel. For practical design purposes, under the various injection angle of nozzle flow, the behaviour of velocity-magnitude patterns at a distance of 4 to 9mm from the glass surface was analysed to understand the de-icing of windshield.<br/>
