In the beginning of this study, pressure in a cylinder and flowrate from a cylinder of a rotating-cam and fixed-cylinder type radial piston pump are investigated through numerical simulations, so that the simulation results might be utilized as basements for examining physical phenomena occurring in the pump assembly. Then, for supplying basic knowledge on pump design, pressure and flow characteristics of a pump assembly under the variations of major design parameters are investigated through numerical simulations. At the end, key design parameters influencing seriously upon volumetric efficiency of the pump are listed.

An analyzing method for pressure fluctuations in oil hydraulic pipe network was developed in this study. The object pipe network has multi-branch configuration, and the pipelines of it are composed of steel tubes, flexible hoses. Also, accumulators, orifices and lumped oil volume components are attached on it. Transfer matrix method, in other words impedance method, was used for the analysis. The reliablity and usefulness of the analyzing method were confirmed by investigating computed results and experimental results got in this study.
유압감쇠기 내 기름의 유효 체적탄성계수에 미치는 실린더 벽 탄성의 영향

This paper presents the effects of cylinder shell elasticity on effective bulk modulus of oil(K_e) in automotive hydraulic dampers. A theoretical model of cylinder shell bulk modulus(K_c) based on the elasticity theory of thick-walled cylinder incorporating not only radial but longitudinal deformation is proposed. In a cylinder, values of K_c by the new model and traditional models are computed and the discrepancies among them are discussed. In a twin-tube type automotive damper, the variation of K_e under different pressure values in chambers of the damper cylinder, based on different theoretical models for K_c is computed. Through these computations, it is shown that remarkable discrepancies in computed values of K_e might occur according to the K_e models in connection with K_c models.

The purpose of this study is to build up control scheme that promptly control pressure in a hydraulic cylinder having comparatively small control volume, using a PCV (proportional control valve) and a digital computer. Object pressure control system has the character to be unstable easily, because the displacement-flow gain of the PCV is too large considering the small volume of the hydraulic cylinder and the time delay of response of the PCV is comparatively long. Considering the above-mentioned characteristics of the object pressure control system, in this study, control system is designed with two degree of freedom control scheme that is composed by adding a feed-forward control path to I-PDD$^{2}$ control system, and a reference model is used on the decision of control parameters. And through some experiments on the control system with FF-I-PDD$^{2}$ controller, the validity of this control method has been confirmed.
비례압력제어밸브의 부하압력 피드백방법 개선에 관한 연구

The proportional pressure control valve having versatile functions and higher performance is an essential conponent in the open loop controlled rear wheel steering gear of the four wheel steering system in a passenger car. In this study, the authors suggest a new type of load pressure feedback mechanism which can make it easy to change the range of controlled pressure without changing the capacity of solenoid. The concept of suggested mechanism, composed of the pressure chamber with throttles in series, was described. The mathematical model was derived from the rear wheel steering gear consisting of a valve and a cylinder for the purpose of analyzing the valve characteristics. And the programme for computing the characteristic of the valve was developed. Experiments were performed to confirm the performance of the valve and computations were carried out to ascertain the usefulness of the developed programme. The results from computations fairly coincide with those from experiments. And the results from experiments and computations show that the performance of new valve was as good as that of the already developed one and the new valve has advantages such as the easiness of changing the range of controlled pressure and the decrease of power loss at neutral position without the decline of performance.
