A desiccant cooling system can make a use of waste heat. The reusing of waste heat is one of the essential methods to conserve a using of grid electric energy and fossil fuel. Reducing an energy consumption of the cooling system in the summer season has an ability to avoid concentration of energy demands in the daytime. In this study, an on-design desiccant cooling system model is developed. A desiccant cooling system model is composed of a desiccant rotor, heat exchangers, an evaporative cooler, and blowers. A silica gel coated honeycomb rotor is adapted to the desiccant rotor model. A direct evaporative cooler model is applied to the system. The parameters: outdoor air temperature, outdoor humidity, regenerative heat duty, air flow rate, indoor heat duty are studied to analyze the effects on cooling capacity, Coefficient Of Performance (COP), and demand of regenerative heat duty.

Fuel cell vehicle (FCV) is clean energy power vehicle that exhaust only water and heat. Utilizing a heat energy from exhaust gas of FCV increases an efficiency of system. A desiccant cooling system is air conditioning system that energy sourced by thermal and water evaporative heat. In this study, a PEM FCV model is modified based on GT-suite FCV power train model and developed hybrid desiccant cooling system using Matlab-Simulink and verified using measured reference data. Based on developed model, System simulation is conducted in various driving cycles to verify effects on fuel consumption, fuel economy, exhaust heat, system efficiency in condition of air conditioning cooling operation. A hybrid desiccant cooling system need electric power as well as heat source, but lower electric power consumption of hybrid desiccant cooling system decreases a hydrogen consumption of FCV in summer season than electric powered heat pump FCV. As a result, a hybrid desiccant air conditioning cooling system for FCV increases a system efficiency and vehicle fuel economy.

A latest korea electricity market participants are compensated their profits by system marginal price (SMP) determined at the korea power exchange (KPX). SMP is the most expensive price of an operated power generator at each hour and which is influenced by many external factor. SMP forecasting is important for profit maximization of power generation businessman. In this study, a SMP time series data forecasting model have been developed using MATLAB Neural Net Time Series<SUP>®</SUP> to predict the short-term SMP. preprocessing has been conducted to decrease a mean squared error (MSE) by comparing with gradient of present value and previous value. Moving average is used as an exogenous variable and nonlinear autoregressive exogenous (NARX) network is used for data training. One month forecasting along the moving average change has been compared. Training model shows that the MSE is influenced strongly by the preprocessing and it can be decreased by iteration in the filtering process. For more accuracy forecasting, another exogenous variables have to be investigated such as global oil price, tax, electricity demand. Another filtering and training methods also have to be compared for model optimization.
